The høyfjellsenter in Hovden gives you a great starting point for hikes. The senter itself is located 1 km outside of the village center, great to walk and easy accessible. We visited during the summer, but I think during winter it is a great place to ski.
Our cottage was clean and spacious. Beds were good. The staff is really nice and helpfully.

Dirty and expensive

Comfortable spacious and clean cabins.
Service was excellent.
Coins are needed to operate the saunafacity. Two coins of kr10. We only had kr20 en no options to change. We did not like that.

The location is great, the cabin spacious, with underfloor heating and a great little sauna. The cabin backed onto a river, which was soothing and the view of the mountains(when it wasn't too cloudy) was lovely. Great starting point for walks. The kitchen was well equipped, and everything worked really well. The sauna was a nice touch. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly. Cleaning products were available. Shower was really good. Beds were comfortable. I imagine it is lovely on a sunny day or when snowy.
I had wished that the property informed that the double beds were actual 150cm mattresses, and not two singles together, as is the usual - just because we brought single sheets, and had to improvise. Also would have liked more detailed info on possible hikes. otherwise, I found the cabin a tad minimalistic and sparse, and missed the cosy cabin feel, especially perhaps because we had awful weather. Very generic. With just one 3-seater sofa and one chair, I am not sure how that would accommodate 9 people at once. Also, the cabins are seriously thin walled, and we could hear our neighbours dancing around. Not keen on the shower curtain - they are not particularly hygienic. I also found the area very overpopulated and busy in general.(not the property itself)

Good location and nice cabin, very welcoming at the reception. Gave us some good tips for hikes, which were astonishing.
Unfortunately the weather was rather cold, the floor heating is nice but takes a while to really get going. Not much of a bother for us personally, it's just the way it works.
