Would not recommend.
The view was ok.
The reseptionist (young male) does not know how to behave around, and communicate, with guests. His approach to me was hostile and rude from the very second I entered to door. His behaviour towards me summarize the hotel. Old fashioned and outdated.

A Good Base for Visiting Worms
The staff at the Dom-Hotel is very welcoming and accommodating. There is an elevator (though not for the steps leading down from the taxi stop), and the rooms, though snug, are clean and pleasant. Plenty of room for 2 people in terms of storage for clothes and toiletries. The rooms also have a small fridge and a safe. The restaurant that used to be in the hotel has closed, but the breakfast buffet is vast and there's lots of good coffee available. We could leave our luggage in their storage room after checking out on the morning of our second day in Worms, and retrieved it without any trouble as we were traveling by taxi on our way to the train station at the end of the day. It's an easy walk (just a few blocks) from the hotel to the Dom (Cathedral) and the Heylshof museum, and not much further to the Jewish cemetery (11th century, the oldest in Europe) or the excellent city museum. You can also walk to the medieval Jewish quarter with its synagogue and ritual bath (the latter currently under restoration and not accessible), and to the banks of the Rhine. The Osteria La Vita, a good Italian restaurant with nice wines, is about a block away from the hotel, and we had a fine lunch there for 40 Euros. You need a taxi to get out to the Restaurant Stolpereck in the Horchheim part of the city, but it's worth the taxi fares both ways. An excellent family-run restaurant with imaginative cuisine including first-rate steaks. Not cheap, but one of the nicest restaurant experiences we've had in recent years. We were there on a Wednesday night and it was quite full, so reservations are recommended. It may be a bit more of a challenge if you don't speak any German (my husband and I are German/American dual citizens and speak both languages), but I suspect it wouldn't be. Worms is definitely worth a trip, and the price of an overnight at the Dom-Hotel is very reasonable.
The description of the Dom-Hotel mentions air conditioning, but all we could find was a device that resembled a fan, and I doubt it would be able to counteract serious heat. As we were there in May, all we had to do was tip the windows open and use our earplugs. You can hear church bells quite clearly, but we didn't find them disturbing, and they don't seem to be in use late at night. The hotel is modern and somewhat lacking in charm, but the staff and the breakfast more than make up for that.

Superb
Very friendly staff, I had absolutely no problem communicating in English. Perfect location with a nice view. Really tasty breakfast with good selection, I could try various fresh German breads, and staff in the restaurant was quick and nice.
The cleaning staff was doing an amazing job my whole stay there from what I've seen, but it's def time to change the carpeting. The one in my room was really worn and with some old stains/discoloration.
