Nice size room, comfy bed had a good nights sleep! Had a 3 course meal in the restaurant lovely food highly recommend.
Great selection of hot and cold food for breakfast.
Can't think of anything.

Lovely setting and location. Food and drinks were good and value for money.
Nothing

The history and features of building; room size; bed was very comfortable; food good; measures taken to avoid plastic waste (e.g. marmalade dispenser, soap dispensers).
Bedroom carpet was grubby, as was some of the furniture in the lounges. There are a few chairs and couches that look dreadful. This gives the property a tired and neglected look.
One biscuit packet and tea bags per room is mean.

Lovely staff, calm vibe and wonderful setting. Very relaxing atmosphere and felt extremely comfortable and welcome upon immediate arrival.
The pillows were slightly firm and uncomfortable

Lovely peaceful setting
Too many stairs and no lift
3.9
Attractively decorated and styled public rooms
Tired bedroom furnishing with little amenity eg iron for the price
Feels quite dated

Presentable and friendly staff.
Dated room, and bathroom, worn around the edges.

we could not fault the price, staff, facilities and location.
The bedroom was a little tired and access was up a number of stairs but we realised that this was due to being a historic building with no lifts.

The staff were wonderful, and the hotel was clean, tidy, and had lovely communal spaces. Our room was well equipped, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. The breakfast and the service was very good, and the view from the dining room, lovely. Parking was great and the hotel location, while in a beautiful country area, was within easy access to all major amenities. It was like a country holiday with all the benefits of a city.
The only issue with the hotel was that we were on the fourth floor, and there was no lift. While we are able to walk the stairs, my oarebts who visited us while we were staying found it difficult. Unsure if age and ability is considered by the hotel when issuing rooms.

Staff were all friendly and polite.
So many dishes were missing from the menu which seemed odd given the nature of them all.

It looked lovely from the outside and was in a beautiful location. The gentleman who checked me in was friendly and professional.
£129 for a dirty, aged, tired room for one person for 1 night was unreasonable in my opinion. The teaspoon that came with the tea / coffee in my room still had the remnants of whatever the last guest had stirred it with on it, the carpet was stained, the walls were covered in dirty marks, the wallpaper was peeling and the top of the wardrobe hasn’t seen a hoover since 1829.

The staff were brilliant, very accommodating and helpful.
Not enough disabled parking

We had a relaxed and welcoming arrival. Straight to our room and a very comfortable night. Very quiet - there was a wedding going on in another part of the hotel, not a sound in our room. Delicious and generous breakfast, self service. Modern decor which fitted in with the historic house and blended with the more modern areas. Efficient and friendly staff.
There was nothing to dislike
3.9
easy booking and pleasant staff car park good
the room was too warm and the window did not help being small and restricted
3.9
the food was very nice and the position is lovely
the headwaiter who served our drinks to wrong table but did not know until they had tasted and realised he then took them back to the bar and put them in clean glasses - not what you expect from a good hotel with a good reputation, we should have complained but did not want all the attention but this should not have happened in the first place. Also the bedrooms could do with some refurbishment.

The sandwiches, very poor filling on very cheap bread with a side of salad that had seen better days. Not as advertised or what you’d expect from a hotel.

Location and staff very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the breakfast, good variety although quite pricey.
Room was nice, clean and spacious with lovely outlook to the gardens.
The hotel definitely needs updating with the decor, although beautiful in the dining room and lounges. A very long walk to our rooms, and no lift.
Reception area not very designed for welcoming guests, comparing with other hotels.
Windows not clean in our room which was a shame as beautiful view of the gardens and pods.
Our bath was abit chipped and radiator looked quite rusty. No soap in the dispenser by the sink.
Although the room was lovely and spacious, hardly any hanging room for clothes and coat.

The heritage & decor was beautiful. The meals were amazing.
Lack of power point & room in the bathroom

it’s appearance
coach parties filling up the restaurant and hoovering up breakfast

Breakfast was great. Location brilliant. Staff very friendly and helpful
Although a listed building a lift would be good for the top floors.

great location clean friendly staff

A very nice quiet location set in lovely grounds it's very popular for weddings so can be busy at weekends but the wedding were in a different part of the hotel so did not see much of them overall a nice quiet hotel
The signage on the road giving direction to the hotel could be perhaps better

Challenge by hotel to pay extra for breakfast when I thought it was already paid for.
Couldn’t eat in hotel too busy

Hotel setting is lovely. On the river with a remote feeling yet only a 15min drive from Gloucester centre.
Bar area, lobby and restaurant have been nicely refurbished.
Nespresso machine in room.
Good choice on breakfast menu.
Very friendly staff.
Paid an overly premium price for 1nt midweek. Booked privilege room but aside from being front facing there was nothing special about the room. Aged furniture, uneven, creaky floor, windows were so scratched I could hardly see through and the bed, albeit a great size was not comfortable.
No fridge

The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was really good.
I didn't like that sometimes there was no on reception desk.
3.9
Nicely located, however it was a bit hard to find as there weren’t enough signs to show the way. The breakfast was really good on second day, however on the first day we barely had any options and it was quite disappointing.
The carpet was full of stains, there was no lift or support to move our luggages and finally the stuff in the breakfast seemed unhappy when they saw we have a 15month old baby with us.
