Our cabina was well appointed with fresh water, clean linens and all that was needed to cook some of our meals. The staff was kind and helpful.
Wildlife came to our doorstep every day and the pool area is tropical and private with shaded spots. A delight!

Casa colores was a DELIGHTFUL place to stay. The little houses are perfect for solo travelers and equally would have been great as a couple or family. Loved lazing around in the hammock, listening to the birds. The property grounds were beautiful - its a paradise.
Mercedes was wonderful and as a solo traveller, she answered my Qs kindly about the area and made sure I was comfortable.
The pool is a real treat on hot days too!
If youre staying a bit longer and cooking, prepare to bring (if youre local) or buy the basics for the kitchen - a little oil, black pepper etc. When i visited, there was only salt.

Comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities and shower hot with decent power. Screens on windows etc to prevent mosquito entry. Pool facilities good and quiet so could swim most times with pool completely to yourself. Main host Mercedes was very friendly , helpful and even gave lift to town.
Shower and kitchen could have been slightly cleaner to get 10/10 - debris under items on counter top and shower head dirty. Some gaps around windows that could easily be filled or mastik to prevent ants getting in so much, fortunately too small to permit mosquitos. Overall, very good though and these are only minor things that could be changed to get 10/10.
Location is 5 minutes drive out but on rough road up steep hill that is unlit so you really need a taxi there and back - current price is c4000 from Montezuma so beware of those trying to ask for more.

Comfy bed, nice veranda, air con, closeness to nature. The beautiful garden so well tended.
A bit close to another cabin. Distance into town although we knew this, and this had it’s advantage too of the peacefulness of our stay.

Up the hill from town means quiet and breezy. Beautiful grounds. Mercedes is very attentive. Cabin is exactly what we needed to relax and have coffee on the large patio, heat up leftovers, make breakfast.
Need a car to

Mercedes was extremely helpful. The facilities were great - spacious, clean, bright. Everything that one needed. The pool area and over all setting was very pleasant and tropical, and the abundance of friendly iguanas was a treat.
The place is a kilometer outside of downtown Montezuma down a steep but exciting hill. But this was a minor concern as we had a car, and it was very quiet at night.

The place is amazing, the houses are very nice and comfy. The staff are very friendly and helpful
My house was one of the closest to the road, so we could still hear the cars at night, it wasn't bad though

Perfect location! Great Customer Service. Mercedes was helpful and patient providing valuable information about tours and places to visit. The Villa was clean and comfortable.
A fan at the porch will be useful as well as a microwave. Other than that is a 10

Lovely little bungalows with everything you need-full size cooker with the oven, mixer to make smoothies, coffee maker and a fantastic ceramic water filter which was just brilliant. Great patio area with a hammock. Lovely, clean, good size pool with iguanas eating almost from the hand. Mercedes was a fantastic host, going out of her way to help and give good advice.

Beautiful location of each individual cabina. Lovely pool. comfy beds with great cotton linens.
wasn’t walking distance to the beach or any good hikes, but with a car, really not a problem.
could have had another shelf in the kitchen.

This accommodation was clean, comfortable and so relaxing. The owner of the hostel is extremely helpful and allowed us to hang at the pool after check out until we left in the evening. The pool is gorgeous and so peaceful. The beds were so comfortable and the self contained kitchen had everything we needed. We would have loved to stay longer if we had more time!
It's a little distance from the town and down a very long hill to walk but there is a bus that goes into Montezuma or Jeannie offered us lifts too!! We also discovered that hitch hiking was a very easy way to get into town and back. Everyone we met was super helpful and friendly!

We liked almost everything at Casa Colores and would have changed our travel schedule and extended our stay if our room had been available! Our cabin was utterly delightful - clean, well-equipped, well-furnished and spacious. We spent many hours on our private cabin verandah enjoying the mature gardens and observing visiting birds and animals. The new owner (Jeannie) was really friendly and helpful.
The walk into Montezuma (1.5 km) is mostly downhill (often steeply downhill) on a main road with hairpin bends and no provision for pedestrians! Most people lacking their own transport will want/need to factor in a taxi for this journey (currently 3,000 CRC each way).

Great welcome. Nice location close to Montezuma but not in the city (better to be outside if you have a car). There is a new owner of Casacolores since few weeks she is making great changes to the casitas. We had the blue casita very confortable well equipped. Bed was very confortable and clean. The pool was really nice. the new owner just received the credit card machine so we were able to pay with credit card.
I know the new owner is organizing herself to serve breakfast in the future to her guests and that’s great as we would have loved to get breakfast on property.

Casacolores is a little slice of heaven surrounded by jungle. Tropical birds entertained us with their antics. Howler monkeys could be heard in the background. The hammock and seats on the porch invited us to relax. The pool was super clean and refreshing. The beds were oh so comfortable. And the host was amazing - so kind and so helpful. Casacolores is a true gem.

Comfy private cabins, a good pool, beautiful gardens and a Lovely owner.
Only downside is the walk into town if you don't have a car, but the owner was nice enough to give us a lift 2 times
