breakfast was super and well presented, very nice view down the river tweed, room was large and comfy staff welcoming and lovely .

Berwick Gem

We had a lovely time on our family trip, staying in rooms 1, 2 and 3. Perfect location, very close to the railway station - short walk up a gentle slope - and within walking distance downhill to the riverside and to the centre of Berwick. Everything Berwick has to offer is on your doorstep here, including great transport links by bus and train to all points north, south, east and west if you like to get out and about. We couldn't have been happier with our accommodation at Castle Vale. Margaret was so welcoming and Tracey who supports her was lovely too - we felt really at home here and loved the communal aspect of breakfast with all house guests around the dining table. All our rooms had amazing views of the Tweed and bridges (photo is from the window of Room 2) and were very comfortable and spacious. Fabulous garden and lots of little touches you just don't get at corporate establishments. Loved it and will be back.

Amazing location, great room, lovely staff.

Beautiful B&B in exceptional position, between the station and the river. Beautiful large room, furnished in a lovely old-fashioned way, with a great view, lovely personnel and breakfast. Wonderfully well-placed for the entire town and the beaches.

The room was large and had wonderful view over the River Tweed. The location near to the station and bus stop was brilliant for getting around. The staff where lovely and helpful. The B&B is quirky and fascinating we loved our stay and would stay again if we Visit Berwick again.

A comfortable well appointed guest house with good facilities and conveniently located

The room was very nice - it had a fabulous view from the window - a room with a view. The location was excellent as it was very near to the train station and to footpaths along the river into the town.

Nothing - it was perfectly acceptable. The breakfast was adequate, although a little fruit would have been nice. Fruit juice was served however.

Everything! the room was stunning as were the views. The hosts were friendly and knowledgable and we were very well taken care of.

There was nothing we disliked, we really enjoyed the whole stay.

Superb

Lovely comfortable family home turned into a b&b. We had a very pleasant stay here. Clean and location ideal for us. Views are amazing, breakfast was freshly prepared with local ingredients plenty enough for us. Easy to find and very peaceful. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the personal touches throughout and the furniture suited our room

We enjoyed our stay very much.

We received a very warm welcome from the owner. The room and the views were excellent. The shower was superb.

The breakfast portions were fixed and the fruit portions, for example, were on the small side. We were never asked if we would like more. The cooked breakfast was delicious and we have no complaints here, but the choice was limited. The hallway had a musty smell, not uncommon in old buildings, but I could not fault the cleanliness.

Nice place to stay with river views.

Breakfast was home cooked excellent. Parking was on site and easy. The room had great views of the river and road rail bridges. Staff was very helpful pointing out places of interest and places to eat.

The pillows were a bit soft.

Great stay.

Margaret and Justin are great hosts. The scenery was fantastic. Tracey the housekeeper was really nice and helpful. The breakfast was good. The train station is a few minutes walk away. The bed was comfortable and the room was warm. The.shower was powerful. The room was very clean.

Very pleasant 2 nights in a delightful location with a warm welcome and delicious breakfast.

Warm welcome. Exceptional views over the river and Border Bridge. Delicious cooked breakfast with homemade jams. Next to the railway station, literally a 2 minute walk. Quiet and conveniently located

The only improvement I would make would be a new mattress, but maybe that's just me!

The hotel was just what l needed, welcoming, warm and close to everything

Breakfast was perfect, they had gluten free bread and sausages and lovely real scottish porridge. Our room was great, had a view of the river and viaduct, warm, comfortable, great shower. everything we could want.
