Breakfast was decent. Location is great.
There was no drinking water in the rooms. Had to organize with the night guard and the staff brought it over. No soap for showering in the bathrooms. We could not sleep well as it was quite hot and uncomfortable.

The location right on the beach is perfect. The rooms are comfortable and the staff very friendly. Perfect if you are looking for a chilling holiday.
There are limited places to eat apart from the in-house restaurant, which only has a limited menu There isn't much to do in the area without hiring a taxi.

Staff were all very kind and pleasant. Area is quiet and peaceful.
Very limited facilities available in rooms - no A/C in rooms despite very hot weather, and no tea/coffee, safe or mini-fridge provided. Rooms are not well maintained with minimal comforts and lots of insects in bathroom. The pool was also very dirty. The nearby beach is very desolate with no activities offered. Beware that there are no nearby restaurants or food places nearby and the menu offered at the lodge is very limited.

It is such a relaxing and peaceful place to stay and the location was great with direct access to the beach. Petra and all the staff were incredibly friendly and really went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely stay. The food was great too and we ate here every night. We only stayed for 3 nights but wish we had booked for longer. We had a great room with a lovely view of the garden and the sea. Thoroughly recommend !
Nothing!

The food was simply fantastic - the best in my travels around Zanibar! Loved the pool and the tropical gardens. On check out a flock of yellow birds came and were building nests - that was so lovely! The Staff was so helpful and accomodating/
i loved it all!

- The room is really nice and clean, but there was no AC. As it is also hot during the night, I would take a room with AC the next time.
- The staff is really nice and helpful.
- It’s a quite area and perfect if you want to have a relaxing and quite time.
- The prices at the restaurant for food and drinks are really high - especially for Tanzania. For example: bottle beer (5$), small water bottle (1$), dinner menu 3 courses (25$)
- We wanted to go to the nearby town, but it was not possible to get a transfer from the hotel. We had to walk to the main road and look for a transport on ourselves.

I loved the peacefulness and tranquility of the hotel. Rustic and simple, the interior design reflecting the Zanzibar culture which made me immediately feel at home. Open and with stunning views of the ocean. It was exactly the kind of hotel I was looking for. The setting is perfect. Right on the beach but no crowds. The staff were absolutely amazing. Easter, Jacky, and Ayesha went out of their way to make sure I was happy and satisfied 😁. They couldn't do enough.😀 The staff, in general, were helpful, courteous, and friendly. Thank you, Petra, for an amazing holiday. For all your help, organizing the transport, recommending Scubafish for diving. for spoiling me on my birthday and making me feel so welcome. I will definitely be going back soon. 😀
The food was average and the portions large. Personally, I prefer a buffet as I have a small appetite. Petra and the staff, however, went out of their way to serve me smaller meals and alternative options. which made me very happy.

Location was perfect right by the ocean, beach front.
Rooms were clean.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The chef changes the lunch and dinner menu daily which is great.
The rooms are well protected against mosquitoes.
Side note: when visiting zanzibar its best to hire a tourist guide to facilitate your activities.
The rooms lack basics for a hotel.
No glasses, tea or kettle in the rooms. No mini fridge.
No landlines to call reception or the restaurant. Had to walk down everytime we needed something.

I would recommend to add shampoo and shower gel to the rooms.

Takes about 30 minutes plus to get your food
Plus I had bad experiences with calamari being over cooked and not prepared the way I requested
My second bad experience was ordering beef with mash that took about 40 mins to be prepared, then I requested to come to my room and it took about 30 minutes to arrive my room , then I requested for it to be warmed and it took about 35 minutes and when I got it it was cold and it came with no cutlery. I got the cutlery after 15 minutes.
I requested for the manager and to no avail.
The previous night I gave a 100 dollar bill to the manager to get change for my cumulative bill as I was leaving at 10 am
The next morning at 9:50am there was no change and the manager was not reachable. The staff had to ask my taxi driver to help with change and this caused me a lot of inconveniences on the way as my driver had to stop on the way to find change and I almost missed my transportation back home because of time.

We had the best week on holidays ever here! The staff went absolutely above and beyond - we already miss Yousef, beautiful Esther & Aysha. Everything that we wanted and asked for was made possible. The place has that unique Zanzibar feel & we really loved our room, our bed was so comfortable and the view spectacular. Our favourite was the daily change of menu - delicious and local food. We also loved the isolation and quietness of this hotel.
The price on booking was different to what we paid on site once we got there - it's roughly 100USD per day per couple. This is due to tourist taxes in Zanzibar.
No fridge in room but that didn't bother us.

It is situated like in the middle of nowhere. When you need very very very calm place to rest, this is right choice. You can read all day and looking on the ocean without interupting you by music, party, sometimes even people (it is not big hotel, just for few guests), whatever.
We could not pay by credit card, but later we had seen that another guest paid. No matter, but...
The place is calm, but even too boring if you stay there more than two nights. That is why we often travel to another places to see beaches or for a dinner and had to use our car. But the road to hotel is unpaved, very very bad. Even beach is not very nice.

Very close to the beach. Room (Saaba) was big enough for 2 adults and one little kid. Good cleanliness. Excellent food, really good cook. Very pleasant owner (Petra) as well as staff (Alice, Amina and all others). Petra was able to provide us with valuable information about tours and visits, which saved us money. So do not afraid to ask her - she will help you.
There was no problems. Everything running pretty smoothly, no complains from our side.

It is a stunning location, with a beautiful ocean view. The restaurant and terrace area is very peaceful and calming.
There was no air-conditioning in the rooms. The cleaning staff forgot to clean our room on one of the days. The food quality was sub-standard and the service was very slow. The staff could not accommodate any extra requests outside of normal protocol.

- beautiful ocean view
- good food
Great place for couples and to relax!
- The toilet in the bathroom would need to be attached to the floor again
