Beautiful home and property. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Everything is extremely comfortable, clean, well maintained - we felt right at home. Definitely we’ll be back. Thank you!

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Very clean, convenient to all activities, and quiet (except for the coyotes!). Welcoming hosts, hiking right out the back door, and a lovely front porch for morning coffee and evening sunsets make this an ideal spot.

We've been traveling to Santa Fe for decades and have stayed in more places than we can count, but this property is the best of them all. The location is peaceful and magnificent, the house is thoughtfully appointed and so comfortable, access is easy, and the host is delightful. We will be back!

We loved our visit! Everything was just perfect! Would definitely return and stay here again!

Everything I needed and things I didn’t even know I needed. The remoteness of Porters Place provides a quiet and reflective spot among nature … with all the wonderful modern conveniences! Beds were comfy, the radiant heated floors were amazing, and the level of hospitality was something I haven’t experienced much of in my travels. As a solo traveler, I felt very safe. It was a true pleasure to make Porter Place my resting spot while exploring Santa Fe. I recommend to all adult travelers and will choose Porter Place if I find myself in the area again.

Absolutely delightful property with everything you need. The drive in is a bit rugged, pick a rental car that can handle dirt roads, can be difficult to find for the first time if it's dark out - well worth the oasis that awaits at the end! Dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave, oven/stove, electric kettle, coffee maker, coffee grinder, big fridge/freezer, TV, wifi all in perfect working order. Enough kitchen equipment to cook some good meals (but local cuisine is easily accessible and delicious). Heated floors made my toes happy. The beds are large and comfy, pillows were just right. Outdoor furniture perfect for some prime star gazing. Feels like you're tucked away in the wild but you're still within 15min of Santa Fe. Can't say enough good things about this place, hope to come back someday!

We were in SF for the opera, and the cottage is super convenient to it. Locationally, it's also a breeze to head over the Dale Ball trail system for morning hikes, then drop into town to galleries. The cottage itself is beautifully set up for a couple or two. It's recently built with a great layout and plenty of indoor/outdoor space. The dirt road entrance immediately puts you in the mood for a special experience.

Porter Place is in fact a hidden gem! Not only was access to the property very straightforward, a couple of gates and a meandering dirt road through beautiful piñon to arrive at this darling house. Tremendous attention to detail is found in nearly every corner. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you need for a short or longer stay. The cozy living room is perfect for reading a book or two in front of the wood stove. The WiFi worked just fine and the smart TV was easy to connect with Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. The beds are quite comfortable, the linens soft and cozy and the bathrooms are both sunny and bright. The outdoor spaces are also just what you need. The back patio is covered with a nice table and wonderful kiva fireplace. And the front porch sunsets cannot be beat...perfect for that end-of-day beverage of choice. Plus you can hike right out the back door and find your way on to the National Forest. April and Pat have created an ideal vacation home for when you're looking for a little peace and quiet. The drive into SantaFe was only 10-12 minutes, with several grocery store options close by.

This little house was perfect for our stay. Out of the way and quiet, yet accessible to just about anything one could want. Super clean with a well equipped kitchen in case you want to stay in and cook instead of going out. Tesuque Market is a deliciously funky market/restaurant a 15 minute walk away and is a must. April and Patrick are very gracious hosts - we will definitely return!

This was a beautiful home located in an idyllic pastoral setting well away from the road. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch in our pajamas each morning, overlooking the distant hills/mountains and enjoying the flowers planted all around the property. That same location was perfect for watching the sunsets, and for reading a book after returning from the day’s outing. Fifteen minutes via the beautiful back road to Santa Fe, 40 minutes to Los Alamos, and about an hour to Taos. We cooked breakfasts and a few dinners at home. The kitchen was nicely stocked with everything we needed and the grill was very nice. Comfy bed, nice sheets and towels … all the comforts of home really. Plus the sound of coyotes, an occasional owl, and the horses who meandered by now and then. We loved it here and would definitely return. This place would be great for 2 couples as it has 2 master suites with king beds and spacious bathrooms.

When we visit Santa Fe, we prefer to stay in Tesuque — the whole area just oozes charm. We discovered April’s gorgeous guesthouse back in 2019 and now often book our trips around the house’s available dates. The property is nestled in the Tesuque hills — quiet and private — with both a front and back porch. We spend most of our evenings around the back porch kiva drinking wine and luxuriating in the ambiance. Sometimes we cook (the kitchen is well stocked with all kinds of dishes/gadgets/utensils) — mostly we eat at a favorite haunt. We love all our outings, but we always look forward to returning “home” so we can kick back and relax. This was our third visit. Will we return for a fourth? What do YOU think?!

This is our 2nd time staying at this amazing property. We spent our anniversary here this time and were greeted with flowers and sparkling wine at check-in. April was very communicative and gave some good restaurant recommendations. The house is so comfortable and beautiful, it is a pleasure to just spend time in. We will be back!

Our stay was amazing; not only did we get to enjoy the arts of Santa Fe but the beauty of its surroundings. I love that we could hike right from our door into the mountains and the views were phenomenal!

Awesome property! Peaceful, quiet and rural but only a short drive and minutes from the plaza, skiing and other natural attractions. A car here is recommended unless you plan to stay only at the cabin, which you could beacause there is plenty of hiking right out the back door! The house is beautiful and perfrectly appointed and equiped with everything you would need. The hosts are super-friendly, quick responders if you have questions and available if you need anything but otherwise you have complete privacy. This is the best vacation rental we have stayed at and it really gave us a taste of local Santa Fe life!! Definitely we will be back!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this beautiful, private property in Tesuque. The host was very gracious to leave a bottle of Champagne and fresh flowers in the home, for our anniversary. We appreciated how clean the home was and all the amenities available for maximum comfort. We went hiking on trails right there in the backyard (the snow didn't deter us), restaurants are close by and grocery stores, attractions, etc., is an easy drive away. The fireplace kept us warm, and it was hard to leave the house at times because it was so cozy. We hope this home will be available whenever we return to New Mexico, because it will be hard to stay anywhere else...the bar is set very high. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

This is a very (very) nice, recently built house. Only positive things to say about the house and patio. Hiking from the backyard (as far as your legs can take you) is superb. This was our favorite morning activity: coffee, hike, and then relax.
Drive time to downtime Santa Fe is less than 18 minutes. Great location.

We had a wonderful stay at the Porter Place. I have never stayed in a VRBO house that was as quiet and peaceful as this one. This place is minutes from the Tesuque Village Market and a short drive to the Santa Fe Plaza. It was extremely clean and well-stocked with kitchen appliances and basics. April is a wonderful host and has a great deal of knowledge about Santa Fe. Two thumbs up.

Well above average
We were so happy to have chosen this clean, quiet retreat away from the congestion of Santa Fe. The home was filled with quality furnishings and the fresh air and scenery from both the front and back porches were a beautiful sight.

We had a great stay. By coordinating when to open windows and close the blinds we were able to keep the place cool. The house is beautiful and the location is fantastic!

Second time staying here - just as great as the first time four years ago. Peaceful, clean, comfortable, close enough to Santa Fe to make it convenient but far enough away to experience a quiet outdoor environment. Beautiful surroundings and fantastic hosts.

This property exceeded our expectations. My husband and I stayed here for our second anniversary/delayed honeymoon. We would have been happy with a comfortable house to use as a home base as we explored the area, but this lovely house was a destination unto itself. We greatly enjoyed the porches for taking in the brisk spring air, and watching the sun set and rise. The property is close to the National Forest, and we felt secluded in the best way, as well as thrilled that we could hike directly into the forest, surrounded by the heady smell of the pinyon pines and junipers as we gazed at the distant mountains.
The interior of the house is airy and tastefully decorated with local art and Southwestern-style accent rugs, and it was so clean and comfortable! We sat in the living room a lot, journaling, sketching, and generally hanging out. We also cooked several of our meals, and the stove was very efficient, though it was an adjustment learning to cook at high altitude.
The owner, April, is very helpful and even went out of her way to make our stay more comfortable. My only regret is not getting to know her and her family better, and not meeting her horses and dogs. Maybe next time!
Overall, if you are looking for a beautiful space for peace and quiet, while also being close to Santa Fe, and a short roadtrip away from Ojo Caliente, Bandelier National Monument, and the Ghost Ranch (and much more), I could not recommend this property more highly! We hope to return in the years to come.

Perfect (again)
This was our second stay and it was just as perfect as the first time. The house is peaceful, clean, and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. The area behind the home is awesome for short or long walks/hikes. It's about a 15 minute drive to Santa Fe, which is convenient. The hosts are wonderful.
