About this house rental
Tara is an individual, architect designed contemporary house that is the perfect location for a large family and pet friendly retreat in St Ives. Tara has five bedrooms (plus additional study with double pullout sofa bed), an enclosed sun trap garden and on-site parking for two cars. Set down a quiet narrow lane, bordering fields and just ten minutes walk from the St Ives Tate Gallery and the golden sands of Porthmeor beach, Tara allows guests to enjoy everything that St Ives can offer with the additional bonus of being able to get away from the crowds – the perfect destination to escape.
To maximise the elevated position the living area is on the first floor where there is a very spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with a feature glazed gable end opening onto a full length balcony with contemporary corner seating which offers views over St Ives Bay. The ultra modern kitchen features Neff appliances (six ring ceramic hob and double oven), a large American fridge freezer, oak worktops and a large oak dining table comfortably seats twelve guests. The living area is equipped with BT Infinity broadband and a large flat screen television, which can be enjoyed from the large sumptuous and contemporary sofa. BT Vision with the BT Sports package is also available. There is a separate shower room with toilet and a study with double sofa bed on the first floor, with its own full width balcony and equally impressive views over open country and the coast.
Downstairs is where you will find the five bedrooms which consist of two king-size en-suite bedrooms, two twin rooms (two single beds), and one bunk bed room. There is also a large family bathroom with bath.
The property has oak flooring throughout the upstairs rooms and bedrooms and real slate flooring and tiling to the hallway and bathrooms. The south facing stone-walled garden is laid to lawn and equipped a BBQ.
Suitable for large parties of 10-12 people you will have all that you need for a memorable holiday in this amazing town; galleries, restaurants, boat trips and breathtaking coastal walks to name but a few.
There is a separate garage which houses a sink, washing machine and tumble dryer and is used for storing the BBQ. The property was lovely and a great position. We enjoyed St Ives very much. Unfortunately the property was not cleaned very well at all before our arrival and is in need of some maintenance - dripping tap in kitchen etc.

Very pleasant stay
We had a very enjoyable time at Tara. The drive is a bit of a challenge to negotiate but the property was great.

The house was nice and we had a lovely time, we did feel for the cost it was not up to scratch. It’s not very clean it is clearly wiped over each week. There were bad stains all up the stair carpet we did ring to complain and were told someone would pop up. There is mound in a few of the bathrooms on the tiles. The worrying thing were the ceilings in the bedrooms. The joist fixings screws are now visible cracks and holes this was also a phone call from us to your office. As this is only going to get much worse. This house needs a full buildings maintenance going over. The window catches are very loose. We did put all this in our review which we left in the house.
The window in the kitchen has no catch to stay open so will just fly back and then it is not easy to get hold of it to close. The door bell does not work, and some of the bedding had holes in.
All of this may seem negative but we loved our holiday and are only pointing these things out so to keep this lovely house up together.
It would of been nice for someone just to leave a note to say that someone from the office had popped in. The lady I spoke to at the office said she knew about the stains on the carpet it had been mentioned before, perhaps it should of been addressed onchange over day.
The welcome gift was a very nice touch thank you.
We would come back to St Ives but will be honest we will look around, this was quite expensive.
I hope some of the points will be helpful.

Perfect
My Family and I have been traveling to St Ives from Newcastle for over fifty years so know the area pretty well, this time we planned to travel together for an October Break, so we could not be happier to find a property that would be big enough for all Ten of us. My Wife and I, my Parents now in their Eightieth years, our two Sons with their Wives and our two Granddaughters.( 4 Generations of Clarks)
The house was spacious with everything we needed to make our stay just perfect. Living room and kitchen / Dining / living area all upstairs giving some fantastic views so relaxing. The bedrooms all downstairs were perfect in every way, comfortable beds and enough showers for everyone, the garden and surrounding area were great for the children to run around with picnic benches and a BBQ for those who want to dine alfresco weather permitting. In general a perfect location, not to far a walk down into the town or the beaches, We managed with a little maneuvering park our cars for the week this saving parking fees certainly a first for us.
We would like to thank you for allowing us to stay in your Beautiful home and will be back again the next time we visit St Ives together, will be recommending you to all of our Friends.
Yours Sincerely
The Clarks.
