Sitting in prime position on the coastal path, in a conservation area on the quiet side of the harbour, the cottage overlooks the beach and lifeboat station.
Boasting a large terrace, it’s a great spot to watch the world go by and, if you’re lucky, a lifeboat launch.
Manor Cottage is a traditional home with modern features and a very well equipped kitchen.
Garage parking included.
The space
3 good sized bedrooms
1 double bedroom downstairs with direct access to a toilet and large walk in wet room/shower. A great self contained space for older teenagers or grandparents.

Superb views across the harbour.
1 bunk bed room at the rear of the building with adult sized single beds.

Garage with space for one medium sized car.
Guest access
Access to whole house and use of attached garage.
Other things to note
Harbour beach is only a 2 minute stroll from the cottage.
The cottage overlooks the lifeboat station. Practice nights are usually Thursdays from 6pm. A real treat to see the lifeboat crew launch the lifeboat and carry out practice drills. A great view of this from the terrace.
Ilfracombe is a very relaxed, friendly town with many independent shops, cafes, pubs, ice cream parlours, pasty shops, chip shops and restaurants, as well as a Lidl! Most of which can be reached within a 2-10 minute stroll from the cottage. There is also a large Tesco superstore a 5 minute drive from the cottage.
The cottage is situated right on the coastal path. You can take a beautiful walk around the coast to Lee Bay to the West and stop for lunch in the very old and quaint Grampus Inn which has a consistently good contemporary menu (1hr 30mins walk - Grampus will order you a taxi back!). Or an easier Easterly walk to Hele Bay. You can also walk to the top of Hillsborough in around 20 minutes - the hill to the right as you look out from the terrace known locally as 'The Elephant'
During Easter and throughout the summer, you can take boat rides right from the harbour. Lots of different trips available including dolphin and seal watching. Trips are also available to Lundy Island.
There is a lovely swimming pool only a 10 minute walk along the coast.
Pets are very welcome.

the house was equipped with everything we needed, Excellent high quality toys which gave great enjoyment to our little grand daughter. The walk-in shower room was also first class. The attached garage was a great bonus. Many good restaurants are only a few minutes walk from the cottage. The communication and support from the host, Liz, was very prompt and helpful when we contacted her with a query about the central heating. We all had a very pleasant stay, Thank you.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Ideal location, close to everything. The house was great, really quirky with a terrace with an amazing view of the harbour. Clean. Amazing shower. Great communication with Liz. Would highly recommend. The garage came in very handy. Thanks Liz for the treats and hopefully we will stay again.

Perfect property for us in great location. Lot of steps might not suit some

This is the most adorable cottage right on the harbour. The cottage has everything you could possible need and check in and out process was very easy. The host was very helpful and communicative. There are quite a few stairs in the cottage but good handrails for all and makes a unique layout. We were lucky enough to see the lifeboat launch for practice on the Thursday night. The location is perfect and you can easily walk into town, to the beaches and around the harbour area. I would not hesitate to recommend for a holiday in Ilfracombe and the North Devon coast.

This has to be my new favourite house! Its wonderfully quirky with amazing views over the harbour. Close enough to get to the beach and shops in minutes but out of thr way enough to enjoy the quiet.
The cottage was very clean and comfortable, I've not slept that well in a longtime! The kitchen had everything we needed and the information books were a huge help.
The balcony overlooking the harbour is fantastic, I spent so long enjoying the view (and the breeze), people watching and the Lifeboat practice on Thursday (at 6pm) was really good, such a great view.
I very highly recommended Manor Cottage and Liz (the host) is an absolute pleasure to deal with. I would (and will) be back in a heartbeat.

We had a really relaxing stay in a fantastic property, in an amazing location in the heart of Ilfracombe overlooking the harbour. Even the weather in November was kind to us and didn’t stop us exploring.

Excellent location and place just as advertised. Only Let down by 2 things. It could have been cleaner - Toilets we bleached to make clean and cushions on sofa needed hoovering especially underneath. Finally, parking a problem as street full and had to pay for 2 days parking out of 3 day stay. Next door might not need to keep parking posts up any longer that restricts access to garage, so worth a follow up

We couldn't fault anything about the property, location or owner. The owner has decorated it immaculately, mixing contemporary with old. Sitting out watching the world go by on the terrace was great. We were left wine and biscuits, tea, coffee and milk for our arrival which was gratefully received. Would definitely recommend. We can't wait to return as it's a little gem.

Fab House in a Fun Town
The house was so comfortable: unfussy, attractive, and just so relaxing. The deck overlooking the harbor was addictive--we just couldn't get enough.
The location is great for accessing the harbor and the High Street, but still quiet.
Would love to visit again!

Excellent location; so close to the harbour, restaurants, places of visit and local amenities
As mentioned in our review, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The view from the proper large balcony is absolutely stunning! Just a little thing like having to buy own kitchen towels and extra toilet rolls didn’t really matter.

Idyllic Holiday Getaway
Manor Cottage is a delightful, quaint holiday accommodation commanding a wonderful view of Ilfracombe harbour, including Damien Hurst's Verity statue, St Nicholas Chapel high on the hill, Elephant Rock and the sea beyond.

This is a quirky property with some charm directly overlooking the harbour. It might not be to everyone's taste and has tricky stairs but the pluses outweigh these factors. Because of proximity of other vehicles we found manoeuvering into the garage impossible but we were never without a space outside of the property. Overall a good find and we would like to return in spring/summer to use the outside terrace.

A little gem
What a lovely, quirky cottage!
We stayed for 3 days over Christmas and it was wonderful. From the welcome wine, biscuits and chocolates (thankyou Liz!) to the harbor view and decoarated Christmas tree, everything was lovely.
The cottage is perfectly located and was clean, warm, cozy and very well equipped; the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and the beds were very comfortable. The garage is a huge plus and the view from the terrace is wonderful - our 4 legged baby loved it too!.
Communication with the owner, Liz, was very good, quick responses to questions.
Hope to come stay again one day and can recommend Manor Cottage 100%!

Best find yet
What a beautiful place to stay, perfect location, put the car in the garage and it stopped there for our whole trip.
House had everything that was needed, car parking could be an issue but I managed to get a large 8 seater car into the garage.
Balcony was a great addition to the property, loving to sit and watch the sun rise, the dog loved it, laying and watching the dogs on the beach.
Location was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to visit.

Amazing property in a fantastic location
Hands down this was one of the best holiday properties we’ve ever stayed at. Location wise it’s bang on the harbour with amazing views of all the comings and goings but also with easy access to all of Ilfracombe’s shops and restaurants. We loved using this as a base for walking to the nearby villages and then using the outside terrace each evening to chill with a glass of something cold.
All in all I’d thoroughly recommend this property to anyone considering a visit and can’t thank Liz enough for all of the prompt help and support she provided in advance of our holiday!

Great house, brilliant location
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The balcony is a great place to sit and chill out, offering a superb view over the harbour, with dog friendly beach.
The actual property itself is equipped with everything you need for your stay.
2 points to note though:
There is a garage (which can fit an SUV and roofbox) you can get blocked in (happened twice)
And the fridge is small so not really suited for a family of 4.
That said, these small points are easily outweighed by the house and location.

I don't want you to find this property!
Loved our stay her. Communications with Liz the owner were very good and check in no problem. Parking is not an issue as there is a garage and free on street parking if you are lucky. If not there is a public car park just paces away.
The property itself is lovely with two good size double rooms and a bunk room. The lounge is comfortable and the kitchen more than adequate. What makes it is the balcony - you can spend hours just watching the comings and goings of Ilfracombe Harbour. There are lots of great places to eat in Ilfracombe and lots to do. I recommend Espresso and the Smugglers Restaurant to eat and if you want to go on the sea take the Sea Safari trip.
We had a dog with us and there are some great walks - if you fancy a distance then the hike to Lee and lunch in the Grampus is great, for shorter walks there are the beaches or a stroll to Hele for an ice cream.
I don't want you to find this property because we will be visiting again and I would like it to be available - but it is undoubtedly highly recommended as is Ilfracombe.

Manor Cottage
Manor Cottage was lovely and a great location to see North Devon. We particularly enjoyed using the deck at the front for a morning coffee or a drink in the evening. The cottage had all of the amenities and facilities to make our stay enjoyable.

Beautiful comfortable cottage, excellent location. Spent lots of lazy days on the beach and terrace. Our group age ranged from 10 to 87 and was enjoyed by all, especially the dog. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

Brilliant Location
We had a wonderful week at this quirky cottage. The view was stunning it is in a perfect location and the property was very spacious. My Daughter loved all the childrens books! Only thing I would mention to others staying is that the fridge is small and the freezer is just one shelf of the fridge so for anyone with a young family like us not planning to eat out much a weeks shop wouldn't fit into the fridge you would be better doing 2 shops across the week. We would visit Ilfracombe and would book this house again. Liz was very helpful and we had great communication from her.
