It was a beautiful property in downtown. It was near grocery stores in the harbor. The room was clean and I love the outdoor space in the courtyard. Breakfast was also outstanding. The nice host even help me with gluten-free bread.

Das Flair des Kloster ist auch im Hotel noch spürbar. Die Lage ist top. Sehr zuvorkommendes Personal. Gutes Frühstück.
4.5
The breakfast was very good but there were the usual queues with people wanting toast and those who couldn't make up their minds what to have. It would have been improved if someone was serving coffee/tea etc so as to eliminate that bottleneck.
One of the receptionist was not very good, probably someone who was new.

It’s history and charm. it is beautifully appointed. The ladies at the reception desk are most helpful.
it does not have elevators.

Incredible! Located in a building that was a convent or a monastery, the hotel still has a room with relics, old books samples of tiles from 16th century, etc. It is not a traditional hotel - so there are no elevators or a big dining hall, but if you are looking for a unique experience in a place that has seen a lot of history, this place delivers in spades.

Great location near marina & city centre.
Old Benedict Monastary converted into a hotel .
An area for guest to have a drink without fighting the public for a seat. Bar/ Restaurant are managed by another business

All the staff were great in all the respects including an excellent recommendation for dinner. Room good. Historic artefacts are the real deal including a collection of ancient books and the Virgin with and without niño. Breakfast outstanding. The bar is run by a separate business but on the same premises.

This is a wonderful hotel that deserves a solid 4 stars! The decor is beautiful and the rooms are superb. My room had the best shower I've had in Europe to date.
There is no lift.

Beautiful historic property and wish we could have stayed longer! Centrally located (we were two couples hiking the Portuguese Camino Coastal route), great dining and market options nearby, clean/well appointed rooms, fantastic shower and all toiletries provided. Delicious breakfast and very helpful staff.

The overall impression is very high - the historical building is excellently accommodated as a hotel and you can feel a bit like in the museum! Room was very comfortable and served to all our needs. The personal was extremely kind and helpful, a pleasure to contact them. Breakfast was very rich and tasty, it is possible to have a tee and coffee in the mean time and even a welcome glass of wine!
Nothing to blame

Beautiful property. Lovely artwork. easy check in.
breakfast was ridiculous. it’s a buffet behind a counter where you point to what you want. so slow. so weird. never experienced anything like this in Spain or Portugal

Staying at the Convento was definitely one of the highlights of our Camino. sleeping in history. No other way to convey the experience. The rooms are very comfortable, modern, bedding to die for, quiet in the evenings etc. And the complementary port tasting in the front room in the evenings was a beautiful touch.

We struggle to sleep because of the noise.

We loved how historical the Hotel looked. It's got a very unique design that fits the feeling of the city. The hotel is right in the city center and seconds from the water. We have no complaints whatsoever.
4.5
Beautiful restored convent building, by the small harbor of A Guarda. Beautiful architecture, small cloister with fountain, several rooms of historic art, early psalters and other religious books. A line of wonderful seafood restaurants lead downhill from the hotel along the harbor. Good Spanish hotel breakfast. Friendly owner and staff. Convenient for walking the Camino Portugués de la Costa to Santiago. (The ride across the River Miño from Portugal in a tiny motorboat was exciting.)
Little to dislike. For beaches, travel to the Portuguese side, where they go on forever, or north to Baiona and Nigran.

This is a wonderful hotel, that used to be a convent. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the rooms are fantastic and have old world charm, but with updated amenities. It is within walking distance to the shore and restaurants. A continental breakfast was included. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. They also tried their best to communicate as their English was minimal, and my Spanish was also minimal! Wifi was included so that one could use a translation app. The location is about an hour away from VIGO airport, and about 1.5 hours from Ourense Renfe train station-roughly $100 taxi ride.
There was a little confusion on the breakfast. My husband and I came down at different times and gave our room number. The server made a big deal about my already listing our room number. Because of the language barrier, we weren't sure what the problem was--but he was served, and it was such a little thing that I completely forgot to ask what the problem was later. Anyhow, I just mention this in case it were to happen to someone else, but it was really a non-issue

Everything! It's a beautiful property at a fantastic location, huge rooms, comfy beds, amazing vibe of an old monastery. I felt as if I was sleeping in a museum, it was just amazing. Nice sitting areas too (in- and outdoor), small but tasty breakfast. I wished I could have stayed a few more days.
Nothing, it was perfect.
