A great visit - nice hotel - pleasant town - good seaside and harbour

Room had a Velux skylight which looked out over the Forth. The location was very good. The lock box check-in worked really well.

Returning the key to the lock box on departure, proved too difficult. I had to re-enter the hotel and leave the key in the room door (as suggested in the hotel's joining email.

Very poor for a hotel.

Location was all it has going for this place

The room wasn't the best in terms of cleanliness, the shower tray was broken to the point I thought I'd fall through at any moment. Communication from the hotel staff was very poor to non existent until the time they want you out of the room. This is a hotel but is being run as a holiday let so no staff and no dining facilities and no reception. Attempted to call ahead for information but no answer on either mobile or landline on multiple occasions. This does not warrant the price tag.

Exceptional

Just perfect and peaceful for an overnight stay. When I arrived my keys were not in the lock box as indicated. However I cannot even complain as the situation was corrected within 30 minutes. The owner even came by my room once I was in to apologize and check on me. It was a small room, but a good sleep after a long day in one of my favorite seaside towns was all I required, and this did the trick. Thank you!

Poor

Nothing - self check in, enter via a side entrance, no staff, box room (it was clean) unusable shower because it was too small and no facilities in the area and no breakfast available. Way over priced for what it was at £99, asked for a refund of £50 and have had no response and no refund.

Excellent for a short break

Location was good close to the train station, the beaches and the town shops and restaurants . Clean and quiet with lovely views. Would stay again

Shower was very dated and the shower doors did not close properly so was worried about water on the floor. Never saw any staff at all as we self checked in but that was not a problem

Why does there listing no say there’s no staff?! Or food?! Sign in window makes it clear this has been going on for some

Not much - one to avoid!

Arrived to find they had no staff at all so no food available. Room was ok but no bedside table lamps worked and 2 out of 5 main lamps broken! Not particularly clean either!

I will be back as we used to go to North Berwick very often and now I have done it on my own.

I was met by the lovely cleaning lady who just happened to be coming out of the hotel when I arrived. I explained this was my first time away without my husband who had just been taken into a care home. She kindly showed me how to work the key system as I was a bit nervous but she was great. And as luck would have it just as I was leaving she appeared to start her daily work and gave me such a lovely hug I was quite touched. People can be so kind.

missed my breakfast but it was a great problem.

Disappointing

I liked the location close to the beach the town centre the bus stop and the train station.

This was a self check in/out room only, No breakfast facilities . I did not encounter any staff during my stay.

Two star rating generous. Very disappointing and over priced.

Location satisfactory, although fronted onto noisy main through road in North Berwick.

Rooms not accessible to people with disabilities or reduced mobility. Bathroom shower cubicle doors faulty due to broken fittings; sink tap dripped. En suite smelt of the drains. Bed linen not clean; spots of blood. Hand soap dispenser almost empty. Poor standrd of decoration. No breakdast available, depite hotel advertising inclusive rate. Bar closed. Room not service on second day. Parking only available on-street. Clearly NOT a hotel but a poor quality AirBnB.

Fine for a reasonable value overnight stay in an otherwise quite expensive resort.

Friendly reception; simple but clean room and facilities; comfortable bed with fluffy duvet; traditional breakfast (and a perfect nectarine from the fresh fruit bowl); perfect position opposite the Golf Club if you were a golfer.

The "kippers" offered at breakfast were fillets from a boil-in-the-bag variety. They tasted OK but looked unappetising! If from that source, I think I'd have patted them dry when out of the bag and served them with a small knob of butter to improve presentation!

Great location but tired property.

Really great location, easy enough to find, free parking nearby. Friendly staff.

The larger bed was really uncomfortable and the room was very warm, the shower wasn't very powerful with a very spongy feel to the shower and plug missing over the soakaway, felt worried the tray would cave in whilst using the shower!

Poor value for money - disappointing

Location is convenient for beautiful North Berwick but that's it! Nearby cafes handy as no breakfast available when we stayed.

Anoverall sense that the property was hanging together by a thread only. Loose carpet tack in the floor was painful to tread on (no meaningful response from staff). Bedlamps did not appear to work even when we moved beds to plug them in. Room very small. Tap leaking in bathroom. (Property also had a leak on the stairway but this was being attended to).

Pleasant staff and clean tidy room.

We did not take breakfast. We were allowed to check in earlier to suit a wedding we attended. This was very helpful on the day, and something we learned some others hotels did not provide.

The reception area was a little dated and could do with some upgrade works.

Fine for a single night stay.

Situated in the centre of the town and very close to the beach. Friendly staff.

Breakfast not included in the price. No parking at the property and although free street parking exists this is a very busy little town and finding a parking space anywhere, free or not, was a major issue. Room was fine for a single night stay but incredibly small with no wardrobes.

location was good

Quality of furniture, bed & bed linen was poor. the drains from the sink backed up into the shower ( video available if you need it). general upkeep of hotel was poor - worn carpets, makeshift slats of wood on stair carpet to hold in place, curtains not right size for windows, etc.
