Good strength wifi - checked in early and used the Wifi for a work Teams call and it was excellent. Huge king sized bed really comfortable. Hotel is opposite the pub in the car park and plenty of free parking. Pub was much better than expected and the staff were super helpful and attentive. No issues with my room at all. The food in the pub was absolutely amazing, I was shock at how good it was - I had the cheeseburger and chips and it was delicious. Unmanned hotel so felt a bit weird going in with a card key but well lit and saw plenty of guests. 5/5 for me, I couldn't fault it and will use it again.
No air con - the windows open a few inches but enough to cool the room. No staff in the hotel, you check in and out in the pub. Wanted to leave at 5:30am and naturally it was shut, but found a box by the closed off hotel reception I assumed was for card keys! (hopefully it was...) Minor things and nothing really not to like for the price.

The staff front of house and breakfast are always very friendly. The cleaning staff did not clean our bathroom sink at all or vacuum the floors which last year we had no problem with. Also for some reason we were given a disabled room which had a very low sink but surprisingly for a disabled room an extremely low toilet which normally is very high and would have suited my back problem a lot better. Did not realise until our last day that there is a fridge available on the same floor to use. We also asked for skimmed milk which eventually arrived. The beds are extremely comfortable but as the weather was very hot we had to remove the duvets and use the cover for a sheet. We had friends with us one night and ordered carvery which we had to send back as it was not even luke warm. This was 7.45 pm so we were given an alternative which we throughly enjoyed and the Manager who we have seen on previous occasions waived the extra cost of the meals so thank you for that.

The beds and pillows were extremely comfy and because of that we will return again definitely when travelling to see family in Derby. Two small points it would have been helpful to have a dial out phone in the room and the second one, the room was really clean with the exception of the top of the headboard which joined the 2 beds. I thought there was something sticking out on the headboard and when investigated found it was nothing more than dust. There was enough dust to leave quite a trail on my finger, room 6. I expect they are rushed off their feet to get all the changeovers done and this was just an oversite. It wont stop us coming back to visit again. The staff were extremely polite and very friendly and courteous. The bar staff were exactly the same friendly, courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them. We booked for 4 nights and added another 2 nights on as extra because we were so pleased with our accomodation., but the downside was we had to pay an increase of £20 per night. We shall be returning to Derby to see our family probably November time and hopefully get a good deal for 7 nights.
No phone in the room otherwise we were so pleased we will be back later in the year. I would have liked Nutella as it said it was available but clearly no stock. Everything else was fine

Nice bed with plenty pillows and shower over bath. We had a nice full english all 3 days with plenty very nice coffee and ate once in the pub. I would give the visit a 9 out of 10.
General attention to clean generally, does anyone really look at carpets for instance, they also have corners.

central for all our needs.
we have been staying here twice a year for years now (apart from the pandemic), and over the years it has gone down. eg. we used to get breakfast included, we used to have a bottle of water each, daily by the bed. We used to have hot chocolate. Now we have 1 teabag each & coffee which we don’t drink. I appreciate they need to cut back but all we get now is room only!!
