Property was as advertised, clean, and well-stocked. The terrace was a very pleasant place to relax. Convenient short walk to underground and nice local pubs. Host communication and check-in process were great.

We loved how quick it was to get to sights via the Northern line. Lots of pubs and spots to eat. Easy access to grocers and parks as well.

Stayed in this great rental for 7 nights with my two adult children. Really appreciated having a large bedroom with two big beds, a chaise, and a desk. We had plenty of space and could either be together or spread out. The kitchen was well-appointed and we had everything we needed for making snacks and meals. It was too cold to sit on the deck (okay, maybe not for others, but I'm from Southern California). I did enjoy sitting in the kitchen and looking out at the view from the deck - very peaceful.
The owner was responsive and kindly checked in after we got there. The arrival and departure process was super easy.
Was able to enjoy London from this central location using public transit and walking - easy and quick to get anywhere we wanted to go.
Would absolutely stay there again!

Great stay overall. Pros: very spacious, convenient location, lots of restaurants close in Elephant square, groceries, coffee and green space complete with a cute mini trampoline and zip line that my teens loved, close tube access, all within walking distance. Cons: 3 story layout with toilet only on 3rd level. Fine for us, but just be aware that if you aren't down to walk up all the stairs to use the restroom it may not be for you. Stairs are loud and I constantly felt like my kids were surely aggravating somebody in the other units just by walking around. But hey, it's a 180 year old building. What can you expect. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I and our three children (16, 16, 17) stayed at this property in mid-October. It was exactly as advertised and had a wonderful kitchen.
Which is important because we like to be able to cook for the family. The bedrooms and bathrooms we're comfortable and perfect for us. We spend quite a bit of time on the terrace. , as well as living room downstairs. We enjoyed the location, come on, especially our kids. Come on because when you walk out the front door and go to the right about 200 yards/meters, you are at the Kennington tube station., which is very convenient to the rest of the city. It is important just to note that this property is in Kennington and not Kensington, and that is the Tube station you will be looking for. That was not a problem because it was still close to everything and had lots of wonderful restaurants and grocery stores nearby. The property is right above and next to a multi level restaurant and jazz club. We did not have any problems with the music or noise, and in fact, my wife and I had dinner and a concert one night and never had to venture more than about 10 yards/meters from home! All in all, great stay and everyone, including our teens, liked it.

The property was great. Easy walking access to multiple train stops. Only issue- the property has two bedrooms. Not the listed 3. Other than that highly recommend.

Location was amazing. No more than a 15 minute tube/bus ride to almost anything. Very responsive host. The tv didn’t work (which is honestly a small issue, as we’re there to see London, not tv), but he had a new tv installed very quickly. Nice little terrace to have breakfast/drinks on. Yes, there is noise. But it’s in the middle of a large city. The fans help massively. The combo washer/dryer did a great job with our laundry - we did carryon only, so we were fine.

This property has easy access to a tube station and made it simple to explore, without being on the north bank. Two convenience stores down the street added to the convenience. I would definitely use it again.

Our family stayed at the apartment for 2 weeks. The apartment is centrally located in between two subway lines which was fantastic. We used the subway daily which was easy to navigate to the places we wanted to visit. The apartment was lovely and clean on arrival. Matthew had provided all the essentials required for a few days which was great. The apartment was spacious for our needs and having a washing machine was terrific. Matthew communicated well with me before we arrived at the property. There is a little traffic noise if you have the windows open as you are on a main road but the location is great as there is plenty of pubs and supermarkets close by. I would recommend this property if you want a central location to travel around London. Thank you Matthew, We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely 3-floor flat that suited my family (2 teens and 2 adults) well.
This apartment was easily accessible and a 5-7 min walk to the Tube. Everywhere in Central London was about a 20 min tube ride away.
There were several grocery stores a short walk away and we easily had breakfast and several dinners at the flat.
This flat was great for our stay. No A/C, but the landlord has many many fans around.
I would bring ear plugs b/c it is on quite a busy corner and there was much street noise, even on Sunday morning. But with earplugs, everyone slept well.

We traveled from Chicago and spent 5 days in London on May 12-17, 2023. We chose to stay at this property based on the pictures and several excellent reviews. Upon arrival, we were very disappointed that the reality did not match the property pictures and excellent reviews. The building is very old and located in a very congested part of London. We are from Chicago and I was astounded to find that the level of pollution was much higher in this section of London. This property does not have central air, or air purifiers/filters of any kind, so it is necessary to open the windows to get any air circulation. The issue is when windows are open, the constant din of traffic and the smell of exhaust is let in. I suffer from asthma and breathing was difficult, but if we left the windows closed then we smelled the must and mold of this property, which was worse. I could not locate any working smoke alarms or carbon monoxide detectors! The glass panes of the windows in the 3rd floor bedroom were broken and even the note left by the owner indicated they were dangerous and not to open them. The outdoor terrace was in complete disarray - several bowls and dishes with burned candles and flooded by rainwater were scattered all over, the large red transit sign with the white line was dented and rusted as if someone used it for target practice, the stairs leading to each floor are dangerous as there is only one railing and the wood is very slippery, the kitchen had dishes and utensils but it was not "stocked" with supplies like water and coffee, and the picture hanging over the bed on the 3rd floor has a huge slash through it. The best thing we can say about this property was that the bathroom was large with excellent water pressure and hot water, checking in and out was easy, we were close to multiple red bus and tube stops making it easier to navigate to multiple sections of London, and having the restaurant/jazz club next door was the one true highlight of our stay! We made the best of it, but for over $500 USD per night, this was definitely not worth the cost.
This is not the first time this has happened when using VRBO, and now that COVID is over we will be going back to booking hotels.

My husband and I stayed here with our 4 children, ages 5-13. We thought it was a great place to call home for our week of touring.
Although not in the midst of the city center, it's a quick walk to the tube and even shorter to the nearest bus stop. There's a park nearby that our kids enjoyed. Easy access to grocery stores. I appreciated that it came well stocked with tea, coffee, sugar, oils for cooking, tin foil, soaps, detergent, toilet paper, and paper towels. It was nice to come "home" to this place after a long flight and not have to even worry about any of those essentials. Plenty of good pubs and food nearby.
If there are any drawbacks, I would say it's that the jazz club is next door and does play music. For anyone going to bed before 10, it's nothing that some white noise won't drown out. I wouldn't let it deter you from staying here.
Matthew was great in communicating.
Overall, there's no reason not to stay in this flat unless you are looking for something within walking distance to all the sites. We loved hopping on the bus for a quick 10 minute ride, seeing the town as we rode along. The neighborhood seemed very safe.

Great location, very central for everything and very easy on the northern line from kennington tube. Theos is great and close by for pizza, near a number of shops to get essentials. The flat is clean and it was perfect for us and our 3 kids for 5 days. I think what I was most impressed with is the host, Matthew, he was proactive in reaching out to us a week or so In advance, sent immediate responses to any questions and checked in multiple times during our stay. The roof terrace is great, unusual to get outdoor space in London and we loved it as it extended the space from the kitchen. A couple of things to be aware of, there are 4 flights of stairs including the stairs coming up from the entrance, anyone with mobility issues will struggle. It’s on a very busy main road, we didn’t have an issue but if you have small kids be mindful of that. It’s above a jazz club but we didn’t hear any noise at all. Overall, this is a great oasis for your trip to london, highly recommend.

The location of the property is perfect for your London trip. Ease of access to local shops in a quaint neighborhood. Quick access to the tube or buses for longer adventures in London. About a 30 minute walk to central London. Property manager was responsive and easy to reach whenever we had questions about the property.

Easy to travel into cenral London from the property. Close to Borough market also. Could also recommend Toulouse Lautrec next door for something to eat, and superb service.
Matthew was an attentive landlord. Over all, an enjoyable stay.

Great location to pubs and Tube! Flat is Spacious and very quint. Had a wonderful time in the UK

Sadly an apartment in need of TLC. The owner whom is a really nice bloke lives overseas and has lost touch with the condition of his property. Sadly I cannot post pictures to compare to pictures posted to advertise the property as they are a far cry from each other. Most of the apartment is in much need of repair. When away I do not expect maintenance work to be completed while on holiday. For the price paid could have received a lot more. Very disappointed coming from so far away. Thankfully we did not allow this to spoil our trip to such a beautiful city.

This was the perfect place for my two adult daughters and i to base our London trip! The property was exactly as described and communication and check in were a breeze. The beds were very comfortable and very close to underground and grocery. We would love to come back again.

Walks to attractions longer than anticipated but enjoyed our stay. Really enjoyed Prince William pub.
4.8
Very comfortable space for our group of 6! We had a few questions about where to find things / how things worked, and Matthew was always very communicative. Short walk to train station, grocery store, Cafe, and pub.
Things to know: Thermostat is on the stairway right outside the kitchen. 2 portable space heaters are very good! The washer works very well but the dryer isn't great by American standards - you're better off line drying (we draped clothes all over the kitchen chairs or thr towel warmer in the bathroom) or drying very small loads (3-5 items) in the machine.
Pros: Charming decor, large shower always had hot water, comfortable, warm beds, convenient location
If you have trouble with stairs, you may want to skip this one as the flat is spread out across several floors.
4.8
The owner was super responsive and helpful, he responds in seconds to any requests or questions. The property has a unique layout, it’s 3 levels so lots of stairs. And the street noise definitely requires that you turn on a fan to create some white noise at night, which the owner does supply in both bedrooms. Overall it’s a clean, well stocked property that is very convenient to bus stops and tube stations.
4.8
Perfect 3 story apartment to stay with a couple friends or a small family. Process to check in was simple and communication with owner was brilliant.
4.8
Wonderful Stay in this very convenient apartment. It is less than a 10-minute walk to the Kennington or Elephant & Castle tube stops on the Northern Line. We were able to explore London with ease. The apartment was super clean which we really appreciated in this day and age. The beds were very comfortable and the owner Matthew was super-responsive.
Would recommend without hesitation and would return again.

The house was awesome loved the neighborhood. Had lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The tube stations we also very close. Convenience store close by. Loved the outdoor patio!!

This apartment was walking distance to some great spots and sights. Matthew was a great communicator and we had no issues checking in or checking out. Would definitely stay again :)

A very comfortable and spacious flat. The host was very helpful. The neighborhood is very convenient to central London and to public transportation with plenty of nice pubs and restaurants.

séjour Kennington
Très bon séjour dans cette maison à 3 étages, très agréable
malgré le manque de climatisation et la chaleur intense des derniers jours. Bon contact avec Matthew très à l'écoute.

Great flat in a convenient location
Historic building with good access to Northern Line tube and everything we needed within a short walk. Host was very responsive when we had a minor issue, and rooftop deck was fantastic during a London heat wave.

We really enjoyed our family’s 4 day stay in London at this quaint flat. The check in process was smooth and host communicated with me promptly, answering any questions I had. The flat is conveniently located near two different tube stations, a rail station and several bus stops (all within easy walking distance) that make travel anywhere in London very easy.
Flat was nice and clean. Bedrooms and bath are pretty roomy and beds are comfortable. Appliances, wifi and amenities all functioned well. We really enjoyed our stay.
A couple of things to note: 1) The flat entrance is up one flight of stairs and then the flat is laid out across three floors with living room on first floor; kitchen, terrace and 1 bedroom on 2nd floor and bathroom and another bedroom on the 3rd floor. If you have trouble with stairs, this flat would not be optimal. 2) Flat is located at the intersection of a busy street and there is some traffic noise that might bother light sleepers. Windows block most of the noise and there are fans in most rooms that drown out noise. We had no problems sleeping when we were there other than ambulances.

We had a perfect stay with Irma and Matt. Couldn’t have asked for better hosts! Property was in an excellent location with multiple tube stops and bus stops in walking distance while still in a quieter neighborhood. Close to the Imperial War Museum too. Absolutely recommend.

Perfect London apartment for large family!
This place is such a find! So close to Kennington Tube station, and a short walk from the London Eye...bedrooms were large and the addition of fans as well as great windows meant it never got stuffy. Kitchen great although no real storage for food purchased - perhaps add in another cupboard? Far exceeded my expectations! And great value for money. Highly recommended.

Family trip to London
We had a lovely stay at this well equipped and spacious apartment. Good bus links around the city which was very fairly priced and convenient for us. Tube station near by and do close to the city centre

I can only reiterate the comments of others.
Matthew replied to messages very quickly.
Irma was wonderful - preparing the apartment beautifully before we arrived and meeting us there and helping us afterwards.
Comfortable beds - really benefitted from the superking size bed (6ft) in the master room - home from home and not easy to find in rentals.
Spacious shower room with powerful oferhead shower, lots of hot water and plenty of fresh towels.
The location is spot on - not only halfway between Elephant and Castle and Kennington but right next to a bus stop which provided us with very cheap and convenient travel around London for the weekend - under 16a free and using a contactless card there was no need for an Oyster card - £3 a day for off-peak!
There is a small Tesco nearby which sold everything we needed grocery wise.
All in all a lovely flat, brilliant location and definitely somewhere to recommend for a stay in central London.

Nice property, lived in but clean.
Comfortable property, small but well-equipped kitchen. More stairs than I’d realised from looking at the photos, property is laid out over three floors plus a staircase up from the front door. Irma was lovely and helpful and we had everything we needed, including a high chair for our toddler. Handy location.

Very fine apartment with a central location
This is a fine apartment with short travelling time to many activities in London.

Perfect spot for our Christmas vacation!
Our family of 5 adults stayed stayed here for 10 days. It was a perfect location to see all the wires of London. It is an adorable apartment on three levels which meant we weren’t always on top of each other. Convenient to TWO tube stations. We were able to cook simple meals in well equipped kitchen, but found several local places for reasonably priced meals. The pub around the corner, Old Red Lion, even accommodated our jet lagged family when we arrived on Boxing Day! We also loved a nearby gastropub The Three Stags. Irma was very responsive to questions, and even left us a bottle of champagne for the evening of Boxing Day.
We Didn’t spend much time in the apartment since we were out all day, but we had a great New Year’s Eve celebration there seeing lights of the Shard and could walk just down the street and see the Eye in the distance.
Our family enjoyed this flat!
