Nice and handy to city
Great pool
Property a little dated
Not enough staff on duty for guests to be helped
Had to wait to find a staff member on a regular basis

Hardly a few things! Staff is somewhat friendly, the pool looks good!
If you want to hear the next room door people talk, fight and everything else this is the room to stay in. Literally no sound insulation, made us feel sick and wonder how is this even a 5 star!
The gym is outdated, the breakfast is terrible, if you can avoid please avoid.

Not over crowded. For a luxury room it was a bit below standard. Hotel gave us complimentary champagne for our honeymoon which was a lovely touch
Rooms were small. The cleanliness was poor in the room. Bathroom was very dated.

Wide variety of options.
Lovely room and attentive staff.

Our stay was very nice, the hotel was very peaceful and quiet. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast quite good with the sea view at the terrace - good coffee, tasty fruits and pastries. Beautiful courtyard, very green and very clean, also very nice and pleasant music playing at all spaces of the courtyard - near the pool and the rest. And the Sea so close by, across the street with very good beach club available included in the room rate.

the bed was super comfortable and the front desk staff were lovely and very helpful. the restaurant was fabulous as was the food and attention to detail by the staff.
upstairs breakfast area was great and the food selection wonderful.
the pool was filthy due to Etna but the cleaning equipment was inadequate, the pool was one of the reasons I chose this hotel and I couldn’t swim in it.
I was told by the front desk on arrival that my room was a very nice room….which it was until I realised it was on top of the kitchen and bottles were thrown into a bin each night, several times which woke me. during the day it was also hard to sleep due to the close proximity of a play ground right outside my window.
At breakfast due to no coffee machine, coffee took quite some time to be ordered and brought out to you.

Quality/cost not best in class

From first impressions, the hotel was beautiful. Our Taxi drove us in and it really felt like a luxury hotel. The grounds are also beautiful, and the pool is really a bonus. Additionally, by the pool they played relaxing lo-fi music which added to the ambience. Breakfast was good with many staff around that bring you coffee and top up the food. I like that they didn’t pile the bread, so the loafs didn’t get stale. The breakfast room had a view of Etna. The hotel might be a good choice for you if you want to relax by the pool or stay on the beach.
This is not a 5* hotel. The rooms are maybe 2*. On arrival, the bathtub was dirty so we cleaned it ourself. There was no kettle in the room which I thought was standard for all hotels. There were squashed mosquitoes on the ceiling and on the curtains. Although we had a balcony, you couldn’t open the door without letting more mosquitoes in. A random guy in a suit somehow had card access to our room and came in while we were changing our clothes. I don’t know how that is possible but we were then worried that someone could enter when we are not there. He definitely wasn’t a cleaner, since we met our cleaner after breakfast (she was sweet and sprayed our room with mosquito spray). The location is far from the centre, this is not a negative since we already knew this before booking. However, be aware that the taxi prices are exceptionally high and to walk is not really convenient. The hotel probably isn’t the best choice for you if you don’t have a car but plan to be out/in the city often.

Nice old style hotel, very nice pool and gardens with sun loungers and umbrellas. Also just across from a beach club where residents have free access.
Hotel restaurant was very highly priced, and the food was just okay. Personnel were very pleasant though. Also, as I was staying for several days, I asked if I could have an iron sent to my room and was told this was “too dangerous”.

Noisy room. WiFi weak. Mosquitos. Beaches are dirty!

Close to beach. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool. Beautifully kept grounds.
These could have been enough but there are some unforgivable problems with this hotel (particularly the air con situation) and some basic things that could be fixed so easily.
No information about the hotel on arrival or in the room (e.g. where to go for dinner or breakfast or how the air con worked)
Air con was awful. Either didn't work or shut down after 8 minutes. Initially it wouldn't go lower than 27 degrees. After querying with reception they lowered it so it could go down to 22 degrees. Worked well for one night but on subsequent nights it only stayed on for 8 minutes before cutting out. We only had one comfortable night's sleep out of four. Very disappointing and unacceptable for a five star hotel. If you stay here you need to ask reception to alter the temperature on the air con!!!
Highly over priced restaurant with some of the worst food we have eaten in Italy. Thankfully we had a Lido with good, reasonably priced, food close by.
No glasses in the room.
Only one plastic spoon was provided which was tiny. No coffee provided, just two teabags.
Very tired decor.

located outside the city. but easy to get to and easy to travel out in the mornings for activities.
felt liked a unique beautiful Sicilian property. which I wanted.
the maintenance of the room was subpar. we found the Airconditioning barely working, the switches in the room unable to turn the lights on and off. and the kettle was placed in a place with no outlet to plug it in. the towels on the first day were torn and bad quality. on the second day they were replaced to better quality towels.

This is the sixth Time, we booked to Romano Palace. First and second Time we travelled as a couple, Than as a family. The hotel room was excellent again, the garden is beautiful. The very lovely staff always make us feel the Best. Thank You Chiara ( the beautiful and helpful Lady at the registration desk, and Simon (the Best concierge ever) for the very-wellcomed arriving. We were so happy to meet Sarah again in the restaurant. We see her working always with a smile on her face even in the middle of the Covid situation before. She solve everything, we feel like in family when we meet her. She is an iconic person of the Romano Palace!
Our room for this Time is faced to a beautiful hidden garden piece, there were were a huge “life-tree” inside the little terrace garden. It looks like living in a fairy Tell. Thank You!
Nothing.

Location is tops, close to the airport and noise proofing is perfect. Dinner is lovely with live music and great ambiance. Had a sweet surprise for my birthday celebration, what a delightful gesture, BIG thank you!
The breakfast room offered views of Mt Etna. Nonetheless it was noisy, wish it was in an outdoor space so the noise pollution was not contained in the room. The staff however tried their absolute best to make us comfortable, kudos to the team, especially the manager.

The personnel have been super helpful. The hotel was clean.
The air conditioning was not working properly. 30 degrees in the room. The breakfast was missing salty aliments. You have to pay extra for different eggs or toasts.
