reviews are probably based on Igors kindness, but the reality is that it’s a bit of a hovel and needs a decent refurbish

Igor, the owner I presume was a smashing chap. very helpful

it’s very jaded, the windows need replaced and there was writing all over the walls by a previous resident

Stay here if you visit Bratislava!

The apartment owner Igor and his wife are very friendly and helpful. Igor speaks good English and gave us good tips about how to discover the city. Our room was super CCC (cozy, comfortable and clean). As we visited Bratislava at the end of January, the weather was very cold but the room was well heated and the hot shower saved our lives more times. The location is just perfect, in the heart of the city, few minutes walk from the historical city center. Easily approachable by tram and there are food places, bakery and also grocery nearby.

Great location, friendly hosts.

Easy to reach from the train station, easy to find, lots of restaurants and bars nearby, close to the Old Town. Room was clean and comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water in the shower. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

The shower was handheld, so no place to put it to use both hands to wash hair.

Super owners and simple, honest place to rest and explore from.

Hyde Park Hostel is a really nice place. It has the charm of an older kind of hostel, definitely no frills, but very comfortable and amiable, and very well located a few minutes from the heart of the old town. The owners are amazing, truly: easygoing, helpful, superfriendly. The room we stayed in has a very interesting history, proved by the decoration. If only for this, it was well worth staying here. But in general everything was nice, clean, and working as intended. Good heating, good wifi, good bed and towels, good shower, good kettle and cutlery, easy check in, easy check out, great communication throughout the whole process. All the true basics for a traveller were more than covered.

Some bits clearly have seen a long and eventful life. A little towel hook was missing and the windows and blinds could be replaced. But in general everything worked just fine :)

The position is good. Below there is a wonderful place where to eat. The staff is great and nice. They also give you tips on what to visit and see. It is a nice and cozy place where to stay in Bratislava.

Sometimes, from the bathroom, there was a weird smell. Not sure if it was due to the hot days during that period.

It was not a fancy place which I wasn't expecting as well but comparing the location and value I guess this is the exact place I wanted. Really easy to get there from the train station and owner live next door. He and his wife was really friendly and they let us leave our baggage at their place after we check out. I don't remember if there is any kitchen there to cook but you have the option to make your morning coffee in your room :) There are many food places around and also the famous Slovak Pub is across the road :)

The hostel is right beside the tram station. So it is not a quite place.

Wouldn't recommend it

Perfect location to visit the city.

The whole building cannot be called a Hostel. There's no common room, rooms are divided into apartments, the forniture is old and really bad. I was expecting much more.

Good location, tram stop outside for a quick ride into the centre. Plenty of shops/food nearby. Igor was great! Very accommodating and helpful.

The owner was very flexible, I was arriving 1 hour after official check-in and it was no problem. Very friendly and calm guy. Location is top, everything reachable by walking.

Lovely friendly owners in a great location

Staff were lovely. Location was 👌 - there is a tram stop right outside the front door and bars and restaurants within seconds' walk.

Disappointed

Location is excellent, very close to the old town. The owner was very nice. It was worm in the room.

I received a room it wasn't in any photos on booking.com, so I feel like I paid for one thing, but received another. For this reason I won't stay here next time, even for a better room. I didn't have any towels.

Superb

The managing person was very nice and friendly, the room was spacious and in a very good location. Very good choice for a day or two if you are traveling to discover the city and its nightlife.

The bed could be more comfortable. The sink was leaking a bit of water. Some furniture need to be renewed soon to make the experience a bit more better.
