Amazing location and views from our treetop cabin. Great food and amazing yoga classes. The aryuveda massages were all so wonderful and relaxing. Really great service from the team and help getting tours and taxis arranged.

We came here with a "Ayurveda & Yogic Wellness, Half board (2 Nights) at Deluxe room" and did not fully know what to expect. It ended up being one of our most interesting and pleasant experiences of our India trip.
The place is a Ayurveda retreat and for our package, we were made to meet with a "doctor" upon arrival, who gave us a questionnaire and decided the "treatments" for us (read: massages). For the three nights we spent there, we hd two massages per day, and one final face massage. While I did not love all the massages (too much oil for my tastes aha) the massage therapists were extremely good and nice and kind. Also both the doctor and the therapists were extremely nice and respectful of my partner, who's trans (we worried that, given how everything is separate women and men, we would have had some issues).
On top of massages we enjoyed the property's food, which did wonders for our stomachs that were upset by stomach bugs we had earlier in our trips, its yoga and meditation classes and the guided walk through the spice plantation. 3 days is the minimum to enjoy everything in the area, and a 4th day would have probably be nice to have.
The property is big, and very well maintained. Our room was spacious and clean, and had a beautiful terrace. I think it had a fan maybe but we did not need it even if we visited in summer (late April) as the weather was warm but not too hot.
We could pay card. Staff was very helpful and most spoke good English.
Wifi was pretty weak. The road to get down to the property is steep and narrow (but they have a jeep to take you up and down).

The resort is a wellness resort with the bestest massage & Spa facilities. The staff is very polite & helpful. We stayed in Tree Cottage & it was really a great experience. The resort offers do many complimentary activities which is really commendable. The resort offers so much at a really great price than other hotels, it was best choice to stay here. I will be coming again here for sure, loved it!!!

We always wanted to stay in a treehouse cottage, so we booked that hotel - not expecting anything special - but wow!
First we got upgraded from the small one-room cottage to the big, two-story one! Also we didn't know that there are so many complimentary activities to book - free daily yoga and meditation, hikes, and even free short massages! Also the place itself, the staff, the location in the woods and the food is awesome - we stayed longer then planned - and hope to be able to come again 😀

The complimentary, organaised programs were amazing! We did morning yoga class, spice tour and spring visit, tea tasting, evening meditation, evening bonfire, and there was even complimentary massage. I learned a lot both from both yoga and mediation about the spiritual practise. The resort is on a beautiful location, we couldnt stop taking photos. The staff were so kind and attentive to all our requests, we felt very comfortable. The rooms are spacious with a terrace, comfortable beds and well-equipped. We are vegetarians, and we really liked the food and variety for a great price. Everything we need for a relaxation. Such a gem we found!
The internet wasnt very strong, it comes and goes but we could manage with it.

The food and staff were brilliant. Sukenya’s was a brilliant masseuse. They have a thoughtful daily schedule of Yoga, meditation and walks and the team will recommend great activities off site. The rooms are generous, with a great view. It was very beautiful, and the waterfall on the property was brilliant to swim in (hard to find in Munnar)
My husband has a peanut allergy and had 2 days where he was given peanuts. Luckily he doesn’t need an epi pen but he was in bed, which was frustrating.
The was a bath but it drained and there wasn’t enough hot water to fill it.
I would still recommend it highly.

Rooms and the property were really nice. We enjoyed the spice plantation walk on the property. But, attention to detail for a few things could make this an unforgettable experience.
General communication, management and staffing could be improved. We were confused a few times during our stay about transport, ordering food, activities etc. They don't tell you that the property is about a kilometer down a steep slope which is only accessible by jeep and we had to wait for about 20 mins on the road for the one and only jeep they have to arrive. Check in was confusing and they had a bit of trouble getting us our keys.
Everything needs to be pre-ordered or pre-booked (even dinner by 6pm) leaving little room for anything spontaneous. We were told there is a good spot for sunset on the property 2 kms out but they couldn't arrange the only jeep they had unless we asked them a day in advance. Given the rates charged, it is not value for money and the service should be better. The property is understaffed with just one waiter in the restaurant leading to long waits to order.
While rooms were good, little things like darker curtains could make them so much better. One of our rooms door lock had a problem too. The wifi didn't work at all for a day.
If you don't care about leaving the property, this is cool. If you do and want to spend more time sightseeing around Munnar, then look elsewhere. Would not recommend if you're here just for a day.

This place is amazing - ALL ASPECTS (staff, room, restaurant, activities offered, view, etc), we enjoyed EVERYTHING about this place. I would particularly recommend if you want to relax or have a romantic getaway.
We liked everything!

We stayed for 5 nights and it was the highlight of our trip to Kerala -
- The facility is in a very nice and a secluded place which is what you want in Munnar. You are truly in nature at Kaivalyam.
- The staff is very welcoming and hardworking who work diligently to keep your stay pleasant and fun. Ashish and the boys at the restaurant, Mahesh at the reception, Ramar our plantation guide and of course Harish the owner are a few people we enjoyed interacting during our stay.
- The food was very tasty and great in terms of quality and ingredients.
- The 2 hour spice plantation tour hike was also great and informative. This was included in our stay.
- We attended the morning Yoga and the evening Meditation sessions all the days we were there. We learnt different forms of Yoga and Meditations.
- They have a bonfire at night with music where they serve pastries and juice (which are yummy!!). This was a fun way to get to know other guests and the staff.
WiFi was spotty which kind of helps in de-plugging :)

Loved the free head massage and doing the evening meditation. The location was so beautiful. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
The shower pressure wasn’t great and it wasn’t very hot.

Its beautiful, the houses on the trees are like a childhood dream come true! And there are super many activities offered by the owner, which is great. we tried most of them (yoga, meditation, tea tasting, spice garden walk, massage) and they were all exceptional.
The location is not great, it’s a bit far from the city. You need to get a bus or a taxi to get to a shop or a restaurant, which is not perfect.

I have been dreaming about returning to Kaivalyam since our first stay immediately before the pandemic. It is everything one could want from a retreat. The location (once you have been driven down the hair-raising road to the property) is peaceful, beautiful and serene, with wonderful views from all the rooms over the well-tended gardens and through the trees to the mountains beyond. The cooler climate of the tea plantations of Munnar can be a joy in itself. The tea plantations and factories are a must-see, though sometimes it is difficult to pull yourself away from Kaivalyam. The food is simple and delicious. The Ayurvedic treatments are an authentic and powerful experience. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and attentive without being intrusive. There’s yoga and meditation if you feel so inclined, or tea-tastings and sitting by the bonfire. You’ll find your time here doing not very much goes very quickly indeed.
Nothing
I can’t recommended this property enough.

The Resort is very peaceful and situated amongst tea gardens!

Delightful from start to finish our only regret is not staying longer. Staff went out their way to be helpful, delicious food and the provided activities were great. I would recommend whole heartedly. We stayed in a tree top villa.
Very slight downside was the construction of their new spa due to complete December 22 which caused noise during the day so I would maybe aim you trip if possible to avoid but it really didn’t detract much at all from our stay.

Humble staff and homely feeling, food is top notch. Its a serene, beautiful and peaceful place.
The place exceeded our expectations. Its not a typical hotel/resort so not advisable to go with that mindset.
Its an offbeat place and they arrange for a jeep ride to/from the property as the drive is very steep for ~1km. Expect to remain cutoff from outside world (some may not like it, though). There's plenty of space within the property to explore and chillax - do yoga, meditation, bird watching, spice garden walk or enjoy the bonfire!

- Friendly staff. Everyone did their best for us. From the staff at the recepion to the staff in the restaurant.
- nice welcome, welcome drinks, good explanation what you can do in Munnar and what activities at the retreat.
- Amazing breakfast you get a lot: juice, warm water, appetizer, main course and dessert.
- Dinner was delicious and the prices were good
- Rooms were clean and there was enough space. You have your own balcony.
- Very much enjoyed our stay and I will definitely come back if i'm in Munnar.
