Clean and quiet room
4.0
4.0
Location, breakfast, gym, rooftop, staff.
Was comfortable always to see a lot of staff around, security guards at the door, etc
The first impact in Sandakan is a bit weird and feels very good to be at this hotel!
Cleaning of the rooms could be more thoroughly. Then would deserve at 10. Mirrors, taps, etc
3.5
Basic but satisfying local breakfast. The hotel is basic, but the location is ideal. Not really much decent hotels at this price in this city to be honest. Staff were very good.
No car parking. You have to park at the shopping centre next door. Shower water pressure is extremely low.
2.5
Good aircon, fridge, tea-making facilities, shower and bed.
Our room had a bad smell coming from the bathroom. We didn't ask to move as we were only staying one night.
We booked two separate stays from 4th to 5th May and 7th to 9th of May. Booking.com took full payment in advance for 2nd stay but not 1st stay, which caused confusion as we thought 1st stay was also paid for in advance. The receptionist said he'd check with Booking.com, having given us our room key.
We realised our mistake and telephoned reception and spoke to a female receptionist to state we'd come down to pay. However, the male receptionist took payment for the room from our card without waiting for us to arrange how we wanted to pay ourselves.
We were called by the male receptionist at 11:30 the next morning to remind us about the check-out time of 12:00, which I thought was very rude, as we were already aware of that time and were just finishing packing and still had 30 minutes.
I think it is a poor policy for a hotel to do that. It is only fair to do so after check-out time.
I have stayed in many hotels over many years and have never been treated this way.
We checked out before check-out time, as we had intended.

The decoration and location.
I could not use the AC for a while and requested help and it was a long wait. Then, apparently they came while I was out, but still the AC did not work when I returned, so I had to call again. Later I was told I needed to use a switch that was sort of hidden on the walls in the room. There was no indication of this at any place or by anyone, so this was a wasted time. The room was just above a busy street, but it was quiet at a decent hour. The breakfast is at another building and choices is not very varied. The coffee is bad.
4.5
The best location in Sandakan. Great breakfast, nice staff and good room.
Not being able to book a half day as if we had stayed in the room until late checkout.

The only shortcoming is the toilet which the water on the floor doesn't drain well.

Location is fantastic, located right on the waterfront opposite a shopping mall with lots of restaurants etc.. at your door step. Staff we really friendly and polite. We had a room with an ocean view so it was lovely. If you’re driving your own car you will need to park in shopping complex car park, although a hassle it worked out well. Breakfast is great. Lots of choices and you can have your eggs cook to your liking. Service for breakfast excellent. We would stay again.
4.5
Centrally located in Sandakan town. Lots of convenience stores nearby.
Lack of hot water in the morning.

The room....clean & comfortable👍
Their staff for check-in service (female staff)
Treat customers with their mad face.
4.5
Great location, helpful and kind staff. Secure luggage rooms.
3.5
Good location, at the town area and next to shopping mall, many food stall and restaurant near the area.
Breakfast is ok and could be better with more varieties.
Rooms is clean and with a very nice sea view.
Surrounding area near the hotel is dirty, many rubbish on the walkway and on the street, need local authority to clean up surrounding area and brighten up the area with more lights and create better environment for tourist.
Room is ok but the bed / mattress is not so comfortable / is hard.
3.0
location- near to lots of food choices
bathroom was dated and dirty, sound outside the bedroom was loud- sounded like people in the hotel were moving furniture all night. Bed was uncomfortable and we had issues with our aircon
3.0
1. Location
2. Breakfast
1. The toilet in our room has mold and ants.
2. Parking is at the building opposite, which is a mall. During busy hours, we find it challenging to hunt for a parking space
3. We arrived early and staff advised us to wait at lobby. When it was time to check in, we were not given priority despite our early arrival, and priority was given to those who just walk in and cut queue.

Very well located hotel, right in the center of Sandakan, nice staff. 20min from the airport.
The rooms were quite old, a good renovation could be useful.
3.5
There is a taxi booth inside the airport to get a ticket for the 30 minute drive to the hotel. The hotel does not serve alcohol but there is the Harbour Bistro Lounge (Bistro 88) south west along the front about 100m where you can get a beer and good food. There is also Balin Roofgarden Bistro and Bar which serves good food and lots of drinks. This bar is on the 7th floor up a lift in a plain building. I will add a picture of the front of the building so you can find it.
At breakfast, the coffee and soup were look warm. you need to get the staff to put more meths in the burners underneath to warm them up.
