Kamers waren goed

The staff were amazing especially Musriq so helpful and kind. They also organised a tour, flexible for my schedule and arranged tickets for me to match my flight timings, special thanks to Dale. Restaurant is great and the food wonderful. Rooms were spacious and clean

Det var prisvärt, jättetrevlig personal, rent och fräscht!
Det fanns inte mycket att göra alls i området så kände absolut att vi saknade en pool för att ha någonting att roa oss med

Very clean living spaces and bathroom. Airy with plenty of sunshine, decked with simple wooden furnishings. Quiet place probably because I went during low season. A really nice place to just chill. Would recommend if you're looking for a place with value for your money.
Buffet was the only option for lunch which is a bit much for a solo traveller and those who can't eat that much at midday. The buffet was priced at RM38 which is quite steep by Sandakan standards. Would have loved some ala carte options, even if just 3 options or so.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a dorm room and enjoyed our stay.
There is free filtered water and hot water in the reception. The setting is lovely, and the showers were hot. Bed was also comfy. Good A/C and fans in the room.
Everything was very clean, but there were occasions when they ran out of loo roll in the bathroom.
15 minutes walk to the orangutans and sunbears and around the corner from the rainforest/night walk.
The restaurant is good and open between 11-2 for lunch and 7-9 for dinner. Good food, very reasonably priced and cheap drinks.
Breakfast is okay, basic but the same thing every day.
Vegan options are available, and staff are knowledgeable, so just ask.
Overall a good stay
The Blankets are very thin and short, I'm 5ft and they were shorter than me, so we had to ask for extra.
The pillow is a bit too firm.
Sockets aren't near the bed. There are no curtains or lamps for the dorm beds either.
The room curtains do not close fully either.

The location is quite good with 10 min walking distance to rainforest discovery center and less than 20 min to orangutan rehabilitation center.
The restaurant is ok with great staff, although don't expect too much.
Staff didn't seem to care when I did check-in and needed to be reminded multiple times to bring me my blanket and towel. That blanket was tiny though, so bring a sleeping bag or something similar if you don't want to sleep uncovered.
Dorms need a makeover. No lockers for valuables in a room you share with 7 other random people is somewhat weird. Also very little electricity outlets available, so if you want to charge your phone, get in line.

Great location, friendly staff, basic clean accomodation
I would not recommend eating dinner there if there is a buffet. We stayed 2 nights. First night there were a large tour group who descended on the buffet. My wife and I arrived 10 mins after start and only 2 of the 5 dishes were available and one of them was plain rice. It was like a rugby scrum around the chafing dishes. Top up arrived about an hour later, as we were leaving.
On the second night one side of restaurant was full of the smell of sewage, probably from their septic tank? 🤮

Room was very modern and comfortable, good working A/C. Liked that they gave drinking water in a glass bottle they refilled instead of plastic bottles - much more eco friendly!
Walking distance to RDC and orangutan/ sun bear centres
Shower only worked on cold setting, when we tried to turn to hot it sputtered and made lots of noise before cutting out.
Lots of dust which seemed to come from the ceiling fan

Wonderful place.
Best shower so far.
Great and cheap restaurant

location close to RDC (10 walking), somewhat further from Orang oetans (20 min). clean rooms. comfortable beds. environmentally minded (free refillable water in glass bottles).
take into account that the shower is cold on days without much sunlight (due to the use of panels for heating)

Lovely room, breakfast was ok but one morning was a set menu then next it was buffet, buffet definitely not as good as the set menu day. Staff all very friendly. Great location to see orangutans and sun bears and could also get a grab to see proboscis monkeys in Labuk bay from here too.
We were told to book the hotel taxi from the airport to the hotel. Then when leaving we were told to just get a grab back to sandakan, would have been great to of been told we could’ve just got a grab to the hotel from the airport for a fraction of the price (150MYR for hotel taxi and only 35MYR for a grab)!!! So definitely don’t use their hotel taxi and just get a grab instead!!!

The location is very convenient for some days of wildlife discovering.
the bungalow are clean and the staff especially the restaurant one are very friendly and polite.
Food choice is very limited in the lodge, only watermelon as dessert for 3 days, breakfast lunch and dinner- no mini market in the area bring your own snacks.
laundry is very expensive 25 R x kg and not well done. although we really enjoyed our stay and I would book here again!

Really good quality of food (including the free breakfast), location was perfect (very close to Orangutan Centre & RDC) & staff were lovely.
Toilets weren’t cleaned for the duration of our stay (2 nights), staff at reception were difficult to find, no relaxing place to hang out - more chairs and hammocks please, & a small shop would be useful.

Great location, lovely new room, very clean
apparently the water isn’t hot unless the sun is shining as it’s heated using a solar panel. Apart from this, nothing wrong at all.

Great food, good showers
i didn’t know i was going to check in late but due to missing my bus had to get later one, tries calling lots of times, texting and whatsapping to no answer, was only when i got there to the lobby that someone woke up and checked me in begrudgingly after i waited in the lobby for 15 mins. beds uncomfortable with no curtain or lockers

Breakfast not included in dorm price and breakfast was 20rm, more expensive than expected. Everything you need in a hostel

The dorm room is comfortable and clean, a/c works great. Breakfast is nice and the waitors are always lovely and welcoming
Don't do your laundry here - 25RM per kg which I thought was very expensive. When asking another member of staff they said it was 10RM but swiftly changed their mind after checking with reception. Felt a little taken advantage of, can get laundry done for 1/5th of that price elsewhere.
The dorm room could do with lockers to keep items sate

Clean rooms and comfy beds. We went at a quiet time so we had the whole dorm to ourselves. Fan and aircon was good. Bathrooms had hot showers. Staff were really friendly and helpful in the reception and restaurant. The breakfast was superb, really filling and tasty! The food in the restaurant was nice and reasonably priced, considering it is the only option in the area. Good location for all the main attractions in Sepilok. Highly recommend!
The bathrooms were a little unclean and the bin was overflowing in the toilets. The rooms were quite dusty, especially under the bed!

The staff make this place, so friendly and helpful!
I liked that it was quiet and the location was great. Breakfast was pretty nice!
Would be nice to have an area to relax, only the reception or restaurant available there

Easy walk to the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries. Well kept, peaceful property. Dorms and bathrooms are very clean and spacious. Staff are very pleasant and helpful if needed. Restaurant has limited but tasty and well priced menu.
There's nowhere to really sit and chill aside from the restaurant or reception area (which is big enough but not exactly relaxing). Some chairs/tables outside the rooms would be nice. Pricier than some hostels that have privacy curtains, lockers, personal plugs/lights but I think the area itself is just pricier overall. There's not much to do (which is not the fault of the property) so bring a book, etc.

Bathroom is so huge. And the decoration I requested was exceptional!
Pillow is pretty hard for my liking.

Great location, walking distance to the main nature attractions and good restaurant.
Restaurant staff extremely cordial and helpful!
They were also flexible to allow late checkout. Thanks
Outdoor cleaning done early in the morning was noisy, so the staff could organize a bit better for the works to be done after 7am.
Otherwise, it went all well.

The breakfast is big and good. My dorm was spacious.. Bathrooms were nice. Towels provided. Very good location, 15min walking to the Orangutan centre and 10min walking to the Discovery centre.
I didn't see any lockers No drinking water to refill you bottle.
4.0 / 10.0
The location of the property is great. It's close to The Orangutan Sanctuary and The Rainforest Discovery Centre.
The restaurants staff was friendly.
There is never anyone at the reception desk. Dont expect to receive any help from this property.
I arrived a bit early for check in as check in is only at 2pm. They said they couldnt let me check in until 2:15. I wanted to go have lunch while waiting for check in but the restaurant only served buffet. They dont always offer an a la carte menu and it is subject to the amount of people they are expecting. There are no other places around to get food.
Not once during my stay did I have hot water. I asked other guests and they had the same issue. Apparently they asked and the property told them its solar powered and because its rainy and overcast there is no hot water.
All rooms have these huge green exit signs on top of the doors that lights up the entire room at night these cannot be turned off. I had to get on a chair and cover it each night with a jacket. The property said its regulations but none of the other places in Sepilok have these regulations.
For the price you pay for rooms at this property, I would rather skip and stay elsewhere as there are many other properties in the same area which offers more assistance.

This is basically a resort, the breakfast is very nice (beans, sausage, egg, toast, tea and cofffee). It's located about 15min walking from the Orangutan centre and the Discovery centre. About 20min walking from the Sepilok junction where the bus drops you. Dorms are clean and new with aircon, nice bathrooms. Reception staff available via whatsapp if not there. Restaurant with few options but good and with fair prices.
There were no lockers in the room and the mattress was a bit hard, but no big deal.
