Breakfast was ok , help yourself buffet. Bed was comfy and room was clean. It's always good to get free parking on site, and the grounds and building are lovely.
The man on reception sadly had bad BO and tho friendly, didn't actually smile at all ! There was no lift which should have been made clear. The room was basic at best , with nothing but white paint. Very plain and dated. Looks like where you would send naughty children for punishment.

Clean , safe, quiet , free parking
I hadn’t realised that its purpose was mainly ecumenical. When it’s says there’s a bar, yeah. No.
Zero atmosphere. Pictures of the pope.

Quiet very clean excellent breakfast
I had asked at the time of booking if rooms had a bath and they said Yes. In the event it was only a shower. Perhaps they had mis-heard and thought I’d said bathroom. That was the only downside

Institutional feel to the place - felt like an upmarket youth hostel - but spotlessly clean, good vfm and great location for the Uni.
Receptionist felt a bit like a prison guard. Unsmiling and utilitarian in nature, a bit like the hotel.

Excellent value for money. Spacious building. Good breakfast.
I had a slightly saggy mattress. This was the only thing stopping 10/10. But I Would still highly recommend and I'll stay again.

Location and Breakfast
Rooms where shabby and felt unclean
7.0 / 10.0
The room was clean and served us well, as did the breakfast on offer which was a big spread and more than enough on offer if you were particularly hungry. The food is a hot breakfast if that is what you prefer, or there is something simpler. The grounds were really nice, and the building has alot of character.
honestly all was well and I would go there again.

Lovely minster style church stay - home from home feel. Basic but budget friendly.

The location was good. Checking in worked well. The staff were pleasant and helpful if needed. The room was adequate for my needs and the breakfast was at least as good, if not better, than some much more expensive accommodation. There were no facilities to make drinks in the room but there were at least three places I found to make hot drinks, each equipped with a range of teas, coffee and hot chocolate. There were spacious gardens around and I had a lovely view of the courtyard.
As it is primarily a conference centre the rooms were study rooms and therefore reminded me of student rooms. The furniture was basic and had seen better days. The walls were thin. The person next to me spoke on the phone both evenings I was there and if I'd listened I would have been able to hear what he was saying. I could also hear that the TV was on. As I was doing something else it didn't bother me unduly but it could have been a nuisance if I'd been sitting in silence

I liked everything re the location, comfort, peaceful building g and surroundings. Also it was very easy to travel around as there are several buses nearby.
This was not the fault of the hotel but my room was very sunny due to weather so the room was hot which did keep me awake occasionally.

Within walking distance to a street with lots of restaurant options. Good value for the money. good morning breakfast buffet to suit all tastes.
This is a very basic, no nonsense room. Do you not think you’re going to get anything more for the money.

Such a peaceful place. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are dated but very clean and had an excellent nights sleep as the mattress was lovely and firm and you can open a window! No tea/coffee in the room but excellent coffee machine in the communal area and the breakfast was outstanding, the variety was more than we were expecting. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely stay again

Clean, comfortable and affordable.
The wifi didn't seem to work very well.

Good selection at breakfast, hot (well warm!) and cold choices, good coffee. Also liked open access to that good coffee and hot drink facilities at any time.
The hot breakfast was only luke warm but I think that is a common problem with serve yourself buffets. The food itself was very good and plentiful.
