Location, the property has a fantastic beach/island/rustic feel, very well stocked and appointed kitchen, great outdoor entertaining area, parking for 3 cars, two secluded private bedrooms, walking distance to the Gutter Bar and protected beach for fishing, swimming and glorious sunsets. Go to the oyster shack for fresh seafood, Wifi, Netflix etc… modern bathrooms, access to fishing rods, beach chairs, kayak etc..this place ticks a lot of boxes.
Bbq has seen better days, definitely could do with an upgrade. Got the job done though.
Tank water has an odour, personally I wouldn’t drink it just to be safe, but good pressure and nice and hot. We took 15L water for 5 people for 5 days. 👍

The house was really lovely, obviously an older building but has been renovated well. the area was quiet
We were unable to get in contact with anyone, called twice and left a message but never heard from anyone the whole time we were there. The house was unlooked when we arrived so we were never able to lock up when we went out or were asleep.

Everything!
Nothing at all!!

great division of spaces for adults & kids or multiple families
the bbq hot plate hadn’t been cleaned from the previous occupants & it took a fair bit of work to get it to a satisfactory condition to happily cook on

Beautiful house and location. The photos don't do it justice

The hosts have been amazing and very responsive and helpful. The ambiance of the house (cosy), very close to the beach, cafe nearby, we did not run out of solar/battery power or water (tank)
House is beautiful but covered in dust, floors and mats full of sand and dirty and all surfaces sticky especially kitchen bench and island, all doors and windows wide open on arrival so invitation for all wildlife.
Nothing to wash the dishes (broken dishwasher and no dish liquid, only tablets and powder were available until we contacted the host and she provided us with the private pantry's key location so we could get some)
No microwave oven, no toaster.
Some doors/windows don't close properly and some fly screens have holes
Holes in the Bali hut roof of the master's bedroom
No fly screen in the ensuite, open to the outside and also between the ensuite and the master's bedroom, door has gaps between wood blades.

Great place for a big family. Stunning location for fishing, swimming, beach driving or just relaxing. Big house with heaps of room.
The water system took a bit to get used to.
6.0 / 10.0
The house was open so we just walked in. Everything was ready except for the bunks not being made up for the kids. (The only reason this was a hassle is because phone service is very limited so not the easiest phonecall to make.)
The house itself is beautiful, open, welcoming, great location to walk around the corner to the water and gutter bar. Plenty of space in the kitchen for multiple people preparing food and heaps of space on the deck where we hung out outside. Kids had plenty of space spread amongst the sitting areas too.
Unfortunately our bedroom door didn't close as it's broken. The lack of fly screens meant evenings spent in bed with mosquitoes and sandflies which was really only a problem when the power went out. We expected them, but didn't expect the bedrooms would be unscreened, however the bunk house where the kids were was the worst - fans or no fans.
Also, the shower leaked, so the bathroom floor was always wet from any previous showers (which you have to walk through to the toilet)... It's only water, but felt pretty yuck in the middle of the night. Because we were on bore water none of us could bring ourselves to sacrifice our bath towel to the floor to keep mopping up the water.
The solar system... um, we were really careful with water and electricity but each night (and sometimes during the day) the power tripped out. Had to keep resetting the inverter just to try and get the fans going again, even though there was plenty of charge showing on the batteries.
