Great location, perfect for 2 people, like home away from home. This was our second stay here and hopefully not our last

It’s off in the distance and have to look through some trees. The property met our expectations. We knew it was a little dated internally and we did not have a waterfront view but great value for the price. Close to town and set off from the road a little. The 10AM checkout was a bit early for our liking, cleaners showed up at 9:55, but no overall complaints.

The location was stunning. It is so quiet and peaceful and only a couple of miles from town. The views from the front porch were a perfect spot for morning coffee. The home was spotless and very comfortable. We will be back.

Just be very careful about choosing “cottage” versus “studio” at this property. Vacasa has ZERO flexibility and it is not super clear from the listing which is which. I knew the property ahead of time, had stayed there before, knew the unit I was trying to get, and still ended up with the wrong one. Great property overall but disappointed with the booking process.

Loved this location. Short ride into Mendocino, ocean views from across the street. Comfortable unit. Enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable 1 bdrm cottage in great location. Artist’s Studio is smaller but has magnificent views of the ocean. Cottage has no views.

The ocean view in the pictures isn’t quite what you get when you sit on the front porch but you are close enough to hear the waves and glimpse the ocean through breaks in the tree line. Our main complaint is that the bed is super hard. My arms and shoulders kept falling asleep as a side sleeper so I tossed and turned all night for the two nights we stayed. The shower head is awkward -a minor annoyance that maybe they can correct.

We were very happily surprised that this house was exactly as described-- and more.
It is in a northern neighborhood of the town of Mendocino, across the street from an ocean cove. Though the view of the Pacific is partially blocked by trees from the front porch, a 2 minute walk down the street to a small park and benches offers a relaxing full view of the ocean, cove and waves as they crash below into the rocky bluffs below.
The full kitchen was well equipped with plates, cups, cutlery and cooking utensils. The living room was comfortable and included TV with Dish Network, VCR and a few dozen DVDs. A public network wifi was available but the private network they offered was not. (I'll mention it to them.)
The daily rental shown was reasonable for a one bedroom house but the total with fees and taxes was a bit of a shock for our 2-night stay. Be sure it's reasonable for you before finalizing your stay.

This cottage was cute and clean and perfect for our needs. It was super close to town and the State Park. We loved the location!!

Great location, but the 2 forks the reviewer from July mentioned had dwindled to 1 by the time we arrived. When I called Vacasa, they said, “Well, there are only supposed to be 2 people staying there.” ?! The “landscaping” is full of weeds, bed sagged in the middle, decor is not “stylish” but “garage sale,” it’s musty, and generally without charm. Barely any hot water. Won’t be back.

The cottage was just what we were seeking. Near yet separate. No cell phone reception

Cozy little home near Mendocino. Short walk to town (although there is no dedicated sidewalk). Very easy drive to town or many nearby beaches.

The cottage was easy to find and a short distance to town. Clean and relaxing with beautiful flowers outside. Cottage just as pictured inside, and you could hear the ocean if sitting on the small porch, but would need to walk across the road to see it. Good weekend stay and base as we were out having adventures more than staying in. Thank you.

This home sits on a hill over looking the pacific , is quiet and spacious
That said it needs some appointments… more than 2 forks, smaller sauce pan and frying pan, muffin pan, darkening curtains on the bedroom so when the motion light goes off it does not shine in your eyes, and better placed stripping on the bathroom door so your hands don't come away sticky
Otherwise…We enjoyed the stay and home

The cottage was charming, comfortable, and conveniently supplied with all the basics. Loved the views from all the windows and the proximity to the ocean and to town. Hope to stay again soon.

A little let down
The place is pretty old, good stuff: Very clean, comfortable bed, SURPRISED little pull out shelf (for my coffee in bed) came out of the nearby cabinet, loved that!!!
Front porch (if you can look past all the overgrown weeds) was a nice place to relax, but barely hear or see the water.
Some reviews from the other units were mixed with this place because they talked of a fireplace (none here), hammock (none here).
There were notes to conserve water but that is hard to do when the water has to run for quite a while before it is hot. Also doing dishes when there is no stopper so the sink can hold water, so running water to wash and rinse…….and no dish towels to dry the dishes since there is no dishwasher.
Bathroom sink doesn’t drain very well. Also could use a mat when stepping out of the shower. Luggage holder (2 in the closet) one is broke, has the screws holding legs but needs nuts on the ends or the screws just fall out.
I think that is about it…..

This was a sweet and well stocked little cottage just across the street from the ocean and within an easy walk of town. It was the perfect quiet spot for a couples get away

Quiet, Peaceful Location on the Edge of Mendocino
This was a nice one room cottage for a get away to Mendocino. It was spacious and very clean. When you open the front door, you can look right out to the ocean, and you can also sit on the front porch and enjoy the view, fresh sea air, and sound of the waves.

Beautiful House for two people.
This house is set up so nicely for two people to stay long-term. We will stay there again and again when possible. Convenient to shops, parks, walking, and resting.

cute cottage
Nice location to visit Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We enjoyed the ability to make our own meals and then walk just a few hundred feet to the ocean overlook. It is a very compact unit so you can't walk around the bed if the closet door is open and there is a full view of the toilet if the door isn't closed. We had difficulty getting our cell phones to connect, even with the WiFi connected. I hope they consider replacing the mattress soon. Overall we would still consider returning.

Comfortable and relaxing
The cottage was spacious especially the kitchen. It was immaculate. Accessible to the bluffs and to town. We had some view of the ocean. The best was that we could hear it.

Great little place, but one need to go outside for the view of the ocean.
Very clean, and very quiet! Nice for a quiet getaway. The lighted walkway was convenient, as we arrived after sunset.

Loved this cottage!
This cottage was the perfect home base for my exploration of Mendocino and the surrounding area. It was just a couple of minutes from the shops, and right across the street is the ocean! The little porch with chairs was comfortable and perfect for reading. The living room furniture was also very comfortable.
Suggestions: I would have loved to have had a modern blender to use. I like to prepare breakfast smoothies. Fortunately, there was a wonderful breakfast place in town so I was fine. Also, the heater was sporadic, so I was cold in the afternoons and nights. I should have contacted the property manager, but I just doubled up on clothing and sweaters.
I would recommend arriving in daylight!!! I arrived at night, and the whole area (Hwy 1, the streets) was pitch black. With curvy roads and no service at times for Google Maps, it was scary.
If I come back to Mendocino, I would definitely stay here again, and I’d make sure to travel in daylight!

This gem is located across the street from the ocean. As you relax on the welcoming porch, you can hear the waves crashing. Very peaceful!
