About this house rental
Get a memorable experience not just a place to stay! Enjoy 450 feet of riverfront, featuring a shallow, sandy area perfect for little ones, while deeper waters invite catfish enthusiasts. Kayak along or relax in our 12-foot swim spa. Create lasting memories with your family. For larger groups, inquire about extra guest fees and additional cabins (rooms 4 to 6).
There is a ton to love and a few expected quirks with a hand built house out in the country. You might see all types of wildlife (deer, skunk, beaver, snake etc.), you may need to spray a wasp nest, you will probably hear the train a couple of times etc. There are two bathrooms in the main house one has a big Jacuzzi style tub and the other has a shower with a dedicated on demand water heater. We have two other cabin rooms completed that have their own entrances and electricity and AC but no plumbing although there is a port-a-potty right outside and a third room is a tiny house with a 3rd full bath. If you are paying for extra guests we can make the cabins available otherwise please ask before using. We do ask that you don't hunt or shoot guns. Kayaks need to be retuned where you got it and fishing gear needs to be cared for and returned. Please check the Bell County website about camp fires as there may be a burn ban in effect (it is Texas!).
You'll have full rein of 5 acres plus take the creek 2 miles to downtown Belton if you like. In Texas you have the right to navigate the waters up or down...so great for a long float or a hike! Please lock up kayaks after use.
We will set you up with a key code so you can let yourself in and out. We likely won't be right around the corner so we may need you to solve some of your own problems. Walmart is just 5 minutes away. If we happen have forgotten something we should have provided we may ask you to grab it for yourself and we'll settle up with you.
Just a few minutes from charming downtown Belton with great places to eat, a historic theater, and shopping. 10 miles to Salado and just about an hour to Austin and 6th street. A great location for anything connected to the Bell County Expo Center, UMHB, or Fort Hood. Go 45 minutes north on 35 to Waco and Magnolia and the silos. This is a slice of country heaven! Its 5 acres of land but surrounded by hundreds of acres of unoccupied land. There is one neighbor that you can't see across the road a few hundred feet so don't completely lose your mind with noise but it really shouldn't be a problem.
You'll definitely want a car while you are here so you can get to and from and into town for food etc. If the water is at a normal level you can kayak into Belton but make sure you've thought through how to get everything back!
It is a cute and quirky hand-built house and the land is really out in the country with all types of wildlife. We want you to have a good time but are not promising perfection. The water is deep well water that is filtered and oxidized so it doesn't have a well water smell or taste to it...this does mean it will be cloudy with air for a few moments after it comes out of the faucet. This is totally normal and doesn't mean anything is wrong with the house. There is wifi and a Roku TV in the master bedroom with Hulu, Disney +, Max, etc.
The pool is actually a 12 foot swim spa and is deep enough that you need to keep an eye on your kids at all times. Please try to keep sandy feet out and rinse yourself off before transitioning from the river to the spa. It goes up to 104 and as low as 90 something but doesn't cool off fast so we can't guarantee it will be as cool as you want in the summertime...let us know if you want it in the 90s so we can turn it down for you.
This is a great place to host an event or a party but please note our extra guest fees under "house rules" and let us know the number of people and cars you are expecting both to visit and spend the night.
For pets we ask that you let us know about each of your pets and tell us stuff like whether they shed, if they chew, if they are not fully potty trained, and if you will be leaving them in a crate when you leave. For shorter stays we ask for a $200 deposit per pet and we normally double that for longer stays (more than a week). Half of the deposit is refundable if the cleaners don't feel like they need to do a deeper clean to deal with hair, urine, smells, etc and there isn't any pet damage.

Great gathering place with Nolan Creek access
Our family of 21, including 11 children had a great time at this property. Bedrooms are spread out to accommodate lots of sleeping schedules, including napping babies. The house is near Nolan Creek, just a short walk down the hill to wade in and enjoy the cool water. There is also a lovely deck overlooking the creek, but we didn’t have much time to relax on it with our large group of kids ( ages 12 years down to 12 months ) who wanted to stay in the water! The host provides kayaks and a paddle boat and life jackets, which we enjoyed up and down the creek. A short way downstream is a low waterfall that is super fun for tubing -even our 3 and 4 year olds loved it. We were fortunate with the water level- it was just right for enjoying the creek safely. If you go, be mindful that rain or drought can change the creek status dramatically.
We all enjoyed the unique style of the house, including the roomy A-frame kitchen and spiral stairs to the upstairs bedrooms. We used both extra cabins as well. The one with 4 bunk beds also served as an extra space for playing inside. The other cabin has a comfortable queen bed, and a full shower bath.
We did bring our own folding tables and chairs for meals, as there are only two small tables and chairs for dining options.
The host is very responsive to questions and I enjoyed working with her.
Overall, I can highly recommend this property for families and groups of all kinds.

My brother and sisters joined myself and my kids. We had a blast. It’s a beautiful property and the host is exceptional. This is our second summer coming here.

Not really a pool and why all the cameras
If you are looking for a place with a pool to swim and play in, there isn’t one here. There is a very large hot tub but no pool. The grounds are beautiful but there is a lot of poison oak/ivy. There are several kayaks, which we did enjoy but water access is difficult and getting the kayaks up & down is hard. We couldn’t use the paddle boat because it was filthy. The house was very clean but the bathrooms were a bit creepy and only 1 small shower. The checkout list that you are sent is excessive, I’m not even sure why I was charged a cleaning fee considering I had to take the trash to the street, wash all dishes, strip the beds, start the laundry, shock the hot tub, and turn off A/Cs in parts of the property that we didn’t even use. The location is private but there are several cameras on the outside of the property which made us a bit uncomfortable, feeling like we were being watched and wondering if there were cameras inside. We have stayed at several VRBOs and this is the only one that we would not visit again and this one was the most expensive (overpriced).

Accommodating n Fun
Beautiful large property with a lot to do. The # of available beds offered was confusing but there is 2 sets of bunk beds in a small cabin outside, one behind the other. There are 2 restrooms inside, only 1 having a shower and the other with a bathtub. There is 1 more full restroom outside in a small studio with a full bed off the deck. There's a loft upstairs the main house w a full bed another bedroom with 4 twins. Downstairs there is a bedroom with a queen and set of bunkbeds, and another w 1 full and twin. The place needs some tlc but I would stay here again and recommend it.

Perfect place for kids and adults to unplug and enjoy the outdoors!
We enjoyed our stay in Belton! This place has so many activities for kids of all ages to enjoy. Take advantage of all this place has to offer and you are guaranteed to have a great time. Plenty of beds and well stocked kitchen. Nice fire pit area, patio, and spa/pool. The shining gem is the river access! It had great shallows for the smaller kids and fun kayaks and paddle boats for the older ones. 100% recommend for a fun and relaxing family getaway!

Country escape
Nice quite little spot in Belton off the river. My family and I stayed and had a really relaxing time. Lots of games to play and nature to explore. Plenty of room for a big family and the kids enjoyed fishing and kayaking. The owners were actively checking in to ensure our comfort and needs were met. Great place for family or friends.

Great property!
We all had so much fun. There are tons of things to do. No one was bored, that is for sure. Owner communication was great. Some paddles had washed away in a storm. They allowed us to go pick some up and paid us back the cost immediately. The river is great. The hot tub is amazing. Perfect for large groups. There are beds everywhere! Thanks so much for allowing us into your home.

Family Getaway
Very easy to locate property, access and check-in process is very convenient. The upstairs is a little warm but plenty of beds and outside cabins were very unique. Property was very clean and comfortable, could use a table in the kitchen area instead of couch and TV in back room where the movies are. Kids had to watch tv in the bedroom. Overall, great experience and the family had a great time.

Perfect outdoor setting
We really enjoyed our stay and took full advantage of the awesome outdoor setting. The kids, and adults, enjoyed the kayaks and tubing in the creek. Total privacy, we never saw another person while enjoying the creek so perfect for social distancing. We even took advantage of the hot tub despite the already hot weather. The owner Lisa was very responsive and checked in on us to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

Great hidden summer spot
This property is amazing. The kids loved spending time in the water and using the paddle boat and the kayaks. The rope swing is a super cool touch. The house is pretty cool and roomy. The kids and I rent a different house every summer just to get away and this is the one on top of the list to return. They truly loved it. The property owners responded to all my questions quickly and they were very nice. We will be back again, we loved this place.

Perfect Getaway
What a fun way to get out of the city to rest, relax, and unplug. Beautiful property on the river allows you to sit, relax, and soak in the fresh air. A unique home with a hospitable touch. We enjoyed the outdoor patio in the mornings and bench on the river to take in the sunset. Perfect for a quick getaway or an extended stay. Quaint downtown to take a stroll, grab a coffee, and a bite to eat. We stayed as a couple but thought so many times that our 6 kids would love this spot in the summertime!

A Belton Gem
Tucked around the corner from the old downtown is this riverfront getaway. It was a really relaxing and quiet place, with a beautiful view, and the convenience of being close to run quick errands.

SO MUCH TO DO!!!
This property is incredible. It sits right next to an old pecan orchard, and there’s so much room for all kinds of activity. The inside of the house is dated, but so adorable. I love that there’s an old arcade game as well as an Atari hook up for the kids and adults who aren’t into the outdoors. The paddle boat was probably my favorite. We rented this place for Christmas because my family wanted to do something a little out of the norm for the holidays. It was the perfect getaway. We even enjoyed the drive out there from Fort Worth. It felt like a mini road trip. There are plenty of beds and hidden spaces in this house, I was surprised by how spacious it really was. 10/10, would rent this space again.

It was convenient and the property was close to UMHB campus. Had plenty of room and everything we needed. We enjoyed having s’mores and a campfire outside at night. Would like for it to have WiFi and cable.
