Unmissable hostel

Amazing staff that makes the stay feel like home with great atmosphere. The bunks are very comfortable. The breakfast offers various option everyday. If you manage to leave this place you’ll definitely want to come back (anyway Emi will make you do).

THE place in KTM!

THE hostel in Kathmandu! Nothing compares. The service, the staff, the comfy beds and privacy curtains the affordable meals, the quiet location. I'm coming back to this one! This is what a hostel should be like! If you want to socialize, cool, plenty of space for that, of you don't feel like it, privacy is there too. Love this place Thank you Jason, Emi, Tissa and the crew!

Accueil au top !

Le personnel est très accueillant, chaleureux et surtout présent. Le prix est très raisonnable (7€ la nuit). Le petit déjeuner est excellent (boisson chaude au choix, pancakes sirop bananes…), bien qu’un peu léger. La serviette était incluse dans le prix. L’emplacement est intéressant car situé en plein milieu entre Katmandou et Pokhara. L’établissement peut vous réserver un billet de bus pour le trajet Katmandou-Pokhara. Il y a une très bonne ambiance dans cette auberge. Il y a une prise, un casier, des rideaux et une lumière à chaque lit. La nuitée était en annulation gratuite. L’établissement est situé dans une ruelle calme. Enfin, il y a un restaurant sur les lieux proposant uniquement des plats traditionnels népalais. Je recommande vivement cet hébergement.

La prise de mon lit ne fonctionnait qu’aléatoirement. Il n’y a pas d’ascenseur dans cet établissement. Le petit déjeuner est trop léger à mon goût.

Friendly, Social, Spacious, and Clean - Best hostel in KTM!

The staff is very involved and friendly! The rooms are very very nice and spacious with a large storage box/shelf for your things as well as plenty of floor space. The walking tour is fantastic and there are game nights and other social/art activities to participate in. I was never bored! By far the best hostel in Kathmandu. The showers are also nice and hot!

The shower facilities are not large or exceptionally nice and there aren't many breakfast options however this is easily remedied by the incredible restaurant attached nextdoor.

So great that I came back 3 times!

Everything was perfect! So I came back 4 times on the hostel. Staff is so helpful and the atmosphere with other travellers is great. Relaxed and cosy, that’s how I would describe it. No noice from traffic and still plenty of restaurants and historical places on walking distance.

Perfect and enthusiastic staff!

The decoration style of this youth hostel is very fresh and beautiful. I fell in love with it almost at first sight. The hotel is in Patan, a very quiet place, and the atmosphere of the youth hostel is great! Especially Amy and Disa, thank you for helping me! There is also a cat in the hotel who is also very cute! I stayed for 5 days in a row! Fall in love with this place!

Chill & cozy

Comfortable dorms! Large capsule bed. Chill place to stay Went on the free walking tour of Patan with Emi, had a great time & ate super delicious momos (Nepali dumplings) afterwards :)

A comfortable, quiet place to rest in between both work and play.

Loved it! Breakfast was the perfect combination of comfort and taste. Their milk tea is wonderful and not too sweet for the foreigners who visit.

Not much. The hostel managers work hard to provide entertaining activities and community both inside and outside of the hostel, which I participated in during my free time.

She had me at pancakes!!

The hostel is also the perfect place for a little couples retreat in Kathmandu. The area is peaceful and the restaurant is amazing. The room and staff were both beyond expectations!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in.

We stayed here in the penthouse for a few nights before a yoga retreat and loved it so much we came back afterwards and stayed in the mixed dorm. The staff couldn't do enough for you, they were so helpful with everything, booking taxis, ordering take, tips for things to do, places to eat out etc. Emi even brought me shopping and found the exact shoes I wanted. There was such a nice, friendly, welcoming atmosphere here, you could just sit and hang out playing boardgames with whoever is around. The walking tour was so much fun and a great way to meet the other guests. They made us vegan pancakes on request. The rooftop space is really nice. The penthouse is very comfortable and spacious. Exactly like it looks in the pictures. The area is a nice and quiet residential area with plenty cafes and nice restaurants in walking distance

The water pressure in the sinks could be stronger.. But that's easy to get over! A little more expensive then other hostels in Thamel but so worth it if you are looking for a quieter more peaceful and personal stay.

Value hostel, incredible staff!

Hostel Nextdoor is bang on! Great location in Patan area; quiet but easily accessible to all attractions and dining options. The front desk crew is quiet attentive and fun to talk to. Went on a group walking tour to old town; amazing that such ancient traditions are still lived by people these days. Breakfast options are regular - pancakes, English set, muesli yogurt - and the local lunch/dinner set is delicious; feels homemade. The restaurant in the property is one of the best in Kathmandu with delicious traditional Nepali meals that feels like culinary adventure.

The hostel is pretty sorted out. I was sad to miss out on other group events by the hostel. I was not expecting a travel agent/desk at the hostel, but they have a partner company that is available 24/7 on whatsapp to book cars, flights, or plan trips; they even came to the hostel to discuss options for a city day tour. Good stuff organizing that!

A second family!

Lovely people! A nice community space to hang out and meet people. Here you will meet your second family! Mother Emi will take care of you. Daddy Sulav helps you with your advantageous plans, especially with hiking he knows the best places! And brother Sandip will show your the around the neighborhood. And of course Fongghy, the housecat, is always there sleeping at the couch.

Exceptional

I always stay here when I need to go to Kathmandu-it is a fantastic hostel with the nicest dorms I've ever stayed in. The staff are wonderful, the rooms are lovely and its in a great, quiet location in Patan with easy access to all the busier areas of Kathmandu. Cannot recommend enough, I tell everyone coming to Kathmandu they should stay in this hostel.

A sweet and cosy spot where I will return when I come back this way.

A very personal and well put together place. it was nice to stay away from the main tourist hotspots and feel a bit closer to the real Kathmandu. The staff are all characters and very sweet, Sulav and the cat lady being highlights for me.

Great stay at Patan

Everything was great. Lively but quiet hostel, run by some amazing people. Clean and tidy, amazing home cooked food. A special shoutout to Emi and Jenish. I can't wait to be back in July. :)

Great Hostel with good vibes, clean facilites, and amazing beds

Clean, modern hostel with lovely staff that are super kind and helpful. And most importantly: the most comfortable mattresses you will find when backpacking Nepal or India! If youre looking for a good, welcoming hostel and need a break from thin mattresses on wooden boards, this is your best choice.

It may not be in the city center, but for that the area is quiet, you are close to some nice restaurants and cafes in Lalitpur, and with a pathao or indrive you are in the city or Patan very quickly.

Dhan’yavada Hotel Nextdoor 🩵

Hostel Nextdoor is like home away from home. The team is like a family, very positive, friendly and doing their utmost to make sure the stay is pleasant. They are always easily available, organise activities (ie. walking tour, bonfire and movie nights) and make sure you feel comfortable and at ease. The food is good and fresh, and the Fungi the cat is the cutest. The hostel is in a quiet neighborhood outside Kathmandu. The center of Kathmandu/Thamel is easily reachable by taxi, motorcycle or public transportation. It is also very short walking distance to Patan’s Durban square, the historic center of Patan, which is a UNESCO site. Thanks to the whole team, Emi, Sulav and Sandip!

Best place to stay in Kathmandu Valley!

Hands down the best place to stay in Kathmandu/Patan. This wasn't like any hostel I have ever stayed at before. The dorm rooms are gorgeous, and they've thought of every single detail. Nice luxurious mattresses and sheets, curtains for privacy, lockers, charging point and reading lights with every bed. But that wasn't even the best part.. The team are friendly and always ready to help. They gave great tips on local sites.. The common areas are SO CHARMING!!! Art everywhere! Lots of green, plants. Everything is painted in this beautiful dreamy blue... If you think the pictures are good, its even better in person. Had the best evening playing board games and drinking the local Nepali beer, sharing travel stories with fellow travelers and the lovely team. Next time I'll be staying for much longer. Thank you so much for your hospitality. 10/10 for location, cleanliness and awesomeness :)

I ended up loving the Hostel NextDoor so much I kept on extending my stay

This hostel is unlike any other hostel in Nepal! It is cutesy, artsy, and true a delight to stay at. It is situated in a quiet neighborhood, with plenty of coffee shops and restaurants in its vicinity. The staff will provide you with plenty of information and opportunities to get to know Nepal on a deeper level. The hostel staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and will keep you up-to-date with local events and festivals. The rooms are clean, the showers hot, the food cheap and delicious, and it’s a short walk from Patan square. It’s the perfect place to connect and meet people from all across the world.

A really great hostel to stay in! The staff is most hospitable and helpful! It is located in a quiet and nice neighborhood. It was the cleanest hostel I've encountered in Nepal. I can also recommend their restaurant that prepares traditional dishes that are not easy to find.

I had a very humbling experience at hostel nextdoor.

My stay at hostel nextdoor catered to my need to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Neatly situated in Patan, this place is a go to for travellers who are looking to connect with a group of passionate young and like minded people. The staff are very supportive and always willing to facilitate your needs. The restaurant beside the hostel is a perfect place to get a taste of Nepal if you are looking to have a sumptuous Nepali ethnic meal when in Nepal. The community of people around this space is really vibrant and energetic. I would definitely make another visit to the place.

Very home away from home feeling!

All in all super experience. Location was good and Breakfast was also very warmly served.

I thought the 4 in a dorm room will have separate bath and wash room. Did not expect that 12 ( both 8 in one and 4 in one) will be sharing the same wash area
