Brian was fun and interesting. He helped us acclimate to Jamaica and gave person assistance. He's a great cook. I liked being right next to the beach and although I had some particular requests we proceeded without exception.
I didn't know that I would need cash at check-in. There was not much communication through Booking.com since I was not checking messages when I was on vacation.

The accommodation is located on a beautiful private beach. It’s a very peaceful place to stay at. The beach house is simple but absolutely lovely, it had everything you need and more. We like to describe our stay as very relaxing. Our host Brian was very friendly, he made us a nice breakfast every day. What was special about our stay is that Brian told us a lot of interesting things about Jamaica, so not only did we relax, we also learned more about the island. Whenever you have questions, he will help you out. We also booked a tour with Brian to go sightseeing in the mountains, which was awesome and very educational. The location is also close to town, you can just stop a local route taxi and you are in town within 5 min. Whenever we come back to Jamaica, we will definitely visit Brian and his beachhouse. We highly recommend others to stay at this awesome place. Hereby we like to thank Brian again for the great stay! One love 🇯🇲 💚
We liked everything

Brian was really friendly and helpful, he cooked me real Jamaican meals straight from the garden fruits and vegetables and helped with everything on how to get around in the area.
The location was great, right on a private beach and with a beautiful garden, and also with a route taxi you can be in the center of Port Antonio in a few minutes.
Don't expect anything fancy like in a touristic resort. It is local and simple, close to the nature, there is a simple shower, a sink, a toilet, a bed and a fan.
So if you like nature and would like to get to know the local culture this is a place for you!
I wouldn't recommend a stay in the room for elderly people, because the beds aren't the best, so for people with back problems it's probably not a good idea.

Breakfast was very basic and permanent coments from the owner about how he thinks the people from my part of the world eats is disgusting was pretty ennoying.
The guy was extremely disrespectfull and agresive,he stole my money, threw me out one night before the end of the time I payed (because I asked him if he would be so kind and dont play music on full volume at 6 am in the morning as I didnt get almost any sleep)and refused to give me money back. Blasting music at 6 am,not providing the basic services primised neither the internet, neither the access to the kitchen (he yelled at me that I believe just in the campground several times, even though in profile the kitchen is shared,so i couldnt even cook, neither make a tea or anything). Agresively on drugs yelling at night as well as in the morning. I had to report him to local authorities. I do not recommend antone to stay there if you do not want to deal with agressive lunatic and be overcharged with his special fee. No wifi, basic breakfast. Beach has loads of trash just in front of the campground as well. To get to the town it's about 1 hour walk.
I figured out later with lical comunity as well by many other reviews on different platforms that i wasnt only one and in the place I moved to owner said that many people have been going from this property almost crying, not knowing what to do.

The food that Brian cooked for me
From the beginning I felt uncomfortable. Brian told me that Booking had not notified him about my reservation and my room was not available. He offered me for the same price or for a little less but without breakfast, a bed in the living room separated by a curtain. He treated me very badly and made me cry. I am not used to that way of behaving. I was traveling alone and had no other place to go. The rest of the guests saw me badly then Brian told me to stay without paying. When I was in the beach (I clarify that it is public, it is not his property) a guest asks me if he could sit next to me, I said yes but Brian came and said that according to the rules of his house we had to be separated. Then he told me that if I paid the stay, he would take me and other guests to camp on an island. I accepted because I didn't like the bed in the living room. It was him, me and two couples. Brian was all the time with one of the couples, his friends. I preferred to stay with the other couple and he was angry about that.He was drinking and smoking all the time, arguing with the guests, making us feel very bad. He says that it's part of the culture but I think that in any culture there is respect to the others persons, and that if you are the owner of an accommodation you can't be constantly assaulting those who prefer to be calm. Finally he told me that I have bad energies and that is why he didn't want to accept my money. I think he wanted to stay alone with me on the island, luckily I walked away from him. I understood everything when I began to read in detail the comments on Booking, several of them are from women who have felt uncomfortable at his home. I hope Booking takes this into account! and those who want to choose this place. WOMEN TRAVELING ALONE: BE CAREFUL!

Don't let the first impression put you off, great place to chill out and location is pretty convenient( Port A. is 5 minutes with route taxi away). Fantastic breakfasts.
Read other comments and make up your mind. During our stay we did not experience any problems

Dangerous, stay away. Wish someone had let us know.
Perhaps this place was great once. It isn't now. The owner publicly beats his girlfriend as she screams for help. Everyone appears to be on hard drugs and nods the day away. Unstable junkies. We filed a police report. Not safe for the average tourist. Lots of good places to stay in this town, go elsewhere.
