Their hospitality is unmatched. Felt like home away from home.
From the decor to the cuisine, everything reflected Kyoto's elegance. A must-stay for any traveler.
Staffs were family-friendly and accommodating. The cultural experiences offered were engaging and educational.
Enjoyed the on-site spa in the room and local artisan crafts. We also experience Japanese sweets cooking class nearby hotel.
Rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The amenities at Junei Hotel are first-rate. I liked Hinoki Bath!
Restaurant was closed when we arrived. Not many restaurants nearby. Need to walk about 20 min to Kyoto station and Gion district. Not many shops around the hotel.

Exceptional room, food and service! Mini bar includes local sake, bear, and multiple kind of juice and it was complementary which was amazing. The breakfast was a culinary journey through Japanese cuisine.
We could not make a reservation for dinner on the day of arrival. They require advance booking.
Taxi driver did not know the place.

If you want comfort, and tradition, look no further. Junei Hotel is a true gem in Kyoto.
The concierge service was outstanding. Tailored our visit with personalized recommendations.
Quiet, refined, and perfectly located. The roof top gardens are a peaceful retreat after a day of sightseeing.
There is no view from the room and we could not even open the window.
The hotel doesn't have facilities like a pool, gym, or shop, so it's recommended for those who prefer a cozy boutique hotel experience.

The staff were excellent - very helpful and generous with their time. The room was very quiet and peaceful. Excellent breakfast.
Location - we had to taxi most places as it was too hot to walk.

Very comfortable and spacious, personal onsen in the room was very luxurious, staff was friendly and courteous, restaurant and meal was very good, location near local shops and shrine was quite convenient.
Very expensive (but you definitely get what you pay for), a little far from metro stations.

The hotel is about a mile from Kyoto station and very close to Gion and other points of interest. It was located on a quiet street. The property was beautiful.
I thought it was well done.

Japanese style design with every details is superb and it's very clean. It's has private bath tub in the room which we can enjoy onsen in the room. There is a set of skincare provided in the room and Kyoto tea and coffee bag for us to enjoy in the room.
If fit 4 people with all the luggages, it will be a bit narrow.

I liked the large Japanese style room. Helpful staff.

We stayed in the big suite on the first floor. Cool minimalist / modern style, comfortable bed, beautiful onsen-style bath. Dinner at the wagyu beef focused restaurant was phenomenal. Japanese breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful in arranging taxis, dinner reservations. Overall it was a positive memorable stay.
Breakfast was Japanese style and great but very big, no lighter options and got to be a bit much for 3 straight days, so we skipped one morning.
The ceiling of our room had a surprise dripping leak that awoke us one night. We told the front desk and the reaction was sympathetic, but they seemed surprised despite there being a water stain on that part of the ceiling. Seemed like it should be a known issue.
The room was the largest in the hotel and comfortable but a bit tight for a family of 5 (3 extra futons did fit snugly), but we expected this.
The location was on a quiet street in an older urban neighborhood near the big river. It was fine with good access to a train line, but not particularly idyllic. The cool internal style of the hotel made up for it, though.
