Epidaurus. Such a historically, culturally, and aesthetically unique area, even for Greece's standards. Reputed to be the birthplace of Apollo's son Asclepius, the God of healing and medicine, Epidaurus was known for its sanctuary, and even more for its theatre, which is still in use today; an architectural masterpiece marvelled for its extraordinary acoustics, which hosts exquisite theatrical and musical performances on cool summer evenings. This, surrounded by a landscape which is a true example of what we Greeks call ''Blessed land''. Combining steep hills, lush vegetation, and of course wonderful beaches, it is simply a delight to behold.
Epidaurus is at the heart of Greece's most treasured historical sites. A short drive in almost any direction will lead you to Ancient Corinth, the ruins of Ancient Mycenae, the Castle-port of Nauplio, Ancient Tyrinth, and several more historical sites, all intertwined with a marvellous coastal countryside. Villa Thaleia itself is separated by a 5 minute walk from a long beach boasting crystal clear waters, and a less than 20 minute drive will get you to the ancient theatre and its performances.
Villa Thaleia is surrounded by a large private garden -offering complete privacy to the estate-, filled with Mediterranean vegetation ranging from citrus trees, to herbs, spices, and home grown vegetables of all sorts just waiting to be savoured. The front-facing large patio is designed for entertainment and dinning, with large tables and chairs enjoying the shade of palm trees; while the back-facing patio and veranda lead directly to the perfectly round swimming pool, ideal for cooling off, while perhaps enjoying a glass of the local wine.
The indoors of villa Thaleia are quite unique in style, and very spacious. The two story estate boasts 2 large living rooms, 2 kitchens, 6 bedrooms with double beds (3 on each floor), 4 bathrooms, and an extra large veranda. The view from the top floor veranda overlooks almost all the gardens and swimming pool, while raising your sight will reveal the twinkling Aegean and the uniquely shaped hills of Epidaurus. The two floors are interestingly quite different in style. Classic stone and marble dominate the main living areas on the top floor, whereas lighter colours and wood prevail in the ground floor. Both floors, are wonderfully styled and especially practical, so the choice of bedroom and floor depends on your personal taste.
Villa Thaleia and its surrounding area provide an all-encompassing experience, offering a large portion of Greece's culture, history, and natural beauty, while enjoying the comfort and luxury of a marvellous traditional Greek summer villa.

Villa Thalia was perfect for our multigenerational family The children adored the pool and there were lots of places to sit and relax The view from the upstairs terrace is breathtaking Being able to walk to the local beach and tavernas was a bonus with a well stocked supermarket a short drive up the hill. We visited the beaches In Epidavros as well as visited the ancient amphitheater and Mycenae an easy hours drive away All in all a perfect holiday.

We rented the full house (which is divided in two separate floors, each with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, and bathrooms) for the month of September. Checkin was smooth, with the owners present in person. Even at full occupancy (12 adults) the house was cosy and comfortable. During the first week of our stay, Greece was hit by unusually bad weather, with non-stop thunderstorms and heavy rain for more than 24 hours. It was rather epic. The house did not quite stand up to this assault, with 2 of the 3 upstairs bedrooms and the upstairs kitchen flooding due to leaking windows and roof. Fortunately, we had no guests at that point in time, and the caretaker of the house (Petros, thank you!) came to help us clean things up. It took several days for water and electric to return to the neighborhood, but after that everything was fine and great, with beautiful weather. We got compliments and thanks from all our guests for the beautiful house and the great location. The house was cleaned weekly, and fresh sheets and towels provided (Elvira, thank you!), so that everything was tip-top during our entire stay. Communications with the owners were timely, to the point, helpful, and friendly at all times. Thank you, Chris and Elpida! We would definitely recommend Villa Thalia for a family get-together of shorter or longer duration.

We had the perfect summer holiday here! The villa is amazing, peaceful, clean and so pleasant. A morning coffee in the veranda, watching the gorgeous private garden and enjoying a dip in the pool: heaven! This place is ideal for families. We were a group of 10 adults and 2 children and we were all accommodated. The kids loved the pool (of course!) and had a lot of space for their games, without disturbing the quiet members of our group who preferred a nice corner with their book. There is also a lot of room for dining at the veranda where everyone can be together and very comfortable.
We were positively surprised at how cool it was inside the house, even though we visited during peak summer. There is airconditioning in all the rooms but we hardly needed to use it at all, especially on the ground floor.
Beyond the amazing villa, the surrounding area also has so many things to offer. There is a lovely beach a few minutes away and then there are lots of places to visit. We felt like we are at the heart of Greece, able to explore all the wonderful things: delicious food, glorious sun, scenic walks, ancient ruins, towns, museums. Definitely visit Ancient Mycenae! We also spent a couple of afternoons in Nafplio, a walk around the old city downtown is a must and for the cherry on top, have some ice cream by the sea side.
Thank you so much Alex, the manager and Elpida, the owner. You both made everything super easy!

We had an amazing family holiday at Villa Thalia. We loved the house and Nea Epidaurus—all the sun, pool, sea, bars, restaurants, oranges, tomatoes and more than you can ask for! The place was just what we were after and really appreciated the attentiveness of the Villa team.
We would definitely recommend a stay, and hope to visit again sometime soon! Thank you!

I had the magnificent pleasure of spending 5 weeks in Villa Thallia during this Summer. The grounds look even better in person than they do on the listing! From the beginning communication with the property manager, Alex was excellent- very prompt, warm and enthusiastic, sharing the many options for travel to and around the location and assuring me that Epidarus is a great area of Greece to spend time.
Upon arrival it was clear that Villa Thallia was special- sitting in grove of trees laden with oranges, grapefruits, a cherry tree, vegetable garden with cicadas creating the dramatic soundtrack.
The house itself is incredibly spacious-- two floors, two kitchens, enough space for large groups to cook and eat meals together. There are plenty of little areas to settle in and read a good book or enjoy an ouzo overlooking the Sea. And the pool is great-- bigger than it looks in the picture, and a good depth for cooling off and for children still learning to swim(it's about 4 foot deep). The grounds were well maintained by the groundskeeper, Petros who cleaned the pool regularly. The house was cleaned thoroughly every week. The owners were super quick to respond to messages and once when the A/C malfunctioned they sent over someone that fixed it within an hour. They were even able to arrange a shiatsu massage at the house for us.
The surrounding area was great- 10 minute walk to the beach with many Tavernas and bars to choose from. Low key tourism, friendly people, really unspoiled. Local outings recommended are the Sunken City and The Ancient Theatre. There is a friendly small grocery store a 5 minute walk away (with great local produce) and a larger supermarket that just opened a 5 minute drive away.
I cant recommend this special place more highly! We will be coming back.

The property accommodated my family of 12 well. The grandchildren were able to enoy the beach, and it was also well situated for day trips to historical sites.

prachtig ruim huis in Epidauros

Large and comfortable family villa
We loved our stay at Villa Thalia. We were holidaying as 3 families and there is more than enough space to accommodate everyone without being on top of one another. The house is comfortable, safe and traditional.
The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful, answering any of our queries very quickly and the couple who look after the house were also great.
We loved the pool area, set amongst the orange trees, including having pool towels available for our use. Our only comment would be maybe a few more deckchairs or sun beds for relaxing as it’s so nice to spend time there.
The local area was busier than we expected with probably 4 or 5 restaurants in walking distance. The local beach was also good for lazier days when we didn’t want to drive. We had lots of options for days out and enjoyed exploring the attractions and beaches a bit further afield.
All in all, a fantastic holiday in a beautiful home - we loved it!

8 adults, 4 children age 11 to 11 months staying for two weeks:
the villa is spacious, ( two separated appartments) feels like your own home and the caretaker of Petras and his wife Elvira were very much appreciated.: taking care of the sparkling pool, cleaning the house once a week, watering the garden and delivering fresh oranges!
The owner Chris Skindilias responded to any question or problem immediately, even late at night.
we encountered an AC problem in the lower sitting room because a gecko had entered the electronic panel and shortened it, destroying one part.
Instead, Chris had a new AC installed in the lower Master bedroom so the baby and parents had bearable temperatures again. (there was a heat wave during our stay)
Most striking for us Europeans and Americans was the rural setting, untouched, only Greek tourists and lovely taverns at the beach with authentic food and great service.
The Greek people are used to big family gatherings and were always eager to accommodate us (11) no matter how full the place was.
Also: almost every person knew some English, so we (ashamed not knowing the Greek language) could easily communicate.
We toured many ancient sites, watched an ancient greek drama "Prometheus bound" at the Epidaurus Amphitheater which was outstanding. At the end of every day we plunged into the pool!

Beautiful house, close to beach, quiet location
We had a beautiful vacation at villa Thalia! The booking process was easy and Alex was very quick to answer all the questions and making sure we had a great time. The house is beautiful and even better than the photos. It is located in a quiet village, among orange and grapefruit trees. It is walking distance to the beautiful beach. There are few tavernas right on the beach which serve delicious greek food and the best seafood. If you’re into history there are many historical sites you can visit 1-2 hours drive from the villa. The owners of the property are very friendly and accommodating and were always there to answer our questions. I would definitely recommend villa Thalia and I’m looking forward to return for another amazing vacation.

A spacious and impressive villa with a superb 1st floor balcony looking out to sea
This is an impressive villa, with 5 large bedrooms and 1 smaller, and 3 bathrooms; for most of the time we were just 3 couples with a baby which gave us plenty of room to spread out and retain some privacy as well. The 1st floor balcony is easily its best feature, with a large table at which we sat 10 people for 2 days when our guests overlapped, and it was fine, but usually there were only 6 of us. The balcony has the dining table on one side and comfortable seating on the other, sufficient for 6, although as the villa has numerous chairs it was easy to pull a few extra out when required. We sat and ate on the balcony almost all the time, as it possesses a fabulous view across orange, grapefruit and pomegranate groves towards the sea, the view enhanced by the addition of the islands of Agistri, Aegina and others, as well as the peninsula of Methana. We were unlucky enough to encounter Medicane Zorba during our last few days, which brought cold weather and rain, forcing us indoors, but the upstairs reception room is enormous, with another huge dining table, and plenty of comfortable seating, so there was no shortage of space. We even lit a fire in the fireplace on one dismal evening which we really enjoyed. The only slight disadvantage to the villa is the kitchen which although amply equipped is rather small for a villa for up to 10 people or more. However, we took it in turns to cook and went in to Palea Epidavros for many meals so managed perfectly well. It would have helped us with the baby if there had been steps into the pool, but apart from this it is a good pool although with such a wonderful beach near by we did not use it very often. The downstairs apartment is rather darker, but our couple with baby made good use of it and enjoyed the privacy and space it offered them, as well as its french doors opening towards a little patio and the pool. I would definitely recommend the villa and all our guests agreed it was a marvellous find.

Calm and Relaxation Among the Orange Groves
Villa Thalia is everything its description promised and so much more. Well situated to easily visit Ancient Epidavros, Nafplio, Mycenae, and surrounding towns, the villa is located in the middle of several orange groves which produced a welcome calm and quiet when decompressing at the end of the day with an expansive view of the sea across the trees. There is a decent supermarket within walking distance and two amply stocked kitchens which we made good use of during our stay. Our two families - 8 people in all - used the upstairs kitchen, living room, and balcony as a shared living area and never felt cramped. The downstairs area was dark and cool - a nice respite when needed. Most importantly, Elpida and Chris were very gracious hosts, answering all of our questions readily throughout the week. As it happened, we visited during record rain for the area and as testament to our hosts' kindness, Elpida offered to extend our stay a short while as the weather was supposed to turn warm and sunny again just after we left. If we could have changed our plans, we would have taken her up on the offer enthusiastically.
The downsides we encountered at the villa were minor: three bathrooms upstairs and only one down was a bit unbalanced but we dealt with it by strategically locating the family with teenage daughters upstairs; a slow-draining shower in one of the upstairs bathrooms overflowed the shower area onto the bathroom floor at one point - easily corrected.
We thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated all of the charm, relaxation, and amenities that Villa Thalia offered. We hope to return again some day.

Nice house in a beautiful area
We (2 families, 9 personés), had a wonderful stay at villa Thaleia : comfortable house among the orange trees, many beaches around not too crowded and beautiful antiques

A very confortable stay in villa thaleia
We were very happy to stay in villa Thaleia. The house is very nice as we expected from the website. The flush may nead some more pressure though. It is a good starting point to visit the Argolide region and the house is just a five minuts walk from the beach and restaurants. We met the owners on our arrival and asked them for some advice. They were always prompt to answer our demands.

Perfect Place For a Family Reunion
The villa provided a fantastic place to host our extended family reunion. The location of the property is well away from any noise and traffic. The beach is only a couple of hundred metres away. We found the design of the property (essentially two flats, one above the other) was perfect for us. We put all the teenagers downstairs and we had the upstairs with the views and the breeze. The villa easily soaks up 12 or 13 people in privacy and comfort. Everything you need is nearby; including lots of ancient history. The owners met us on arrival and gave us some good advice on which taverna was the best. The one on the beach adopted us and vice versa. They even organised a special meal for us which wasn't on the menu. The villa is well situated to visit many great sites like Epidaurus, Mycenae, Corinthos and several lovely less busy islands nearby. If you are there in the summer, don't miss the opportunity to see a play in the ancient amphitheater at Epidaurus. We saw a fantastic play written 2500 years ago which was just as relevant today as it was then. The English subtitles helped but the play was very funny anyway and the setting looking West into a Greek sunset was marvelous.

Simply the best
It was our first time in Greece. We decided to select Epidavros because of its strategic location and the infinitely number of things to do around. We chose villa Thaleia as the elegant place that could accommodate our big family. We are very happy for both of our choices. Spot on! The villa was much more than we expected. An aura of class and comfort. We enjoyed every moment. Thank you. Villa Thaleia is a lovely place to be. We strongly recommend it to all families and their friends.

A wonderful place for a family holiday
Very accurate information.
The villa was extremely clean, comfortable and well equipped.
The very welcoming and knowledgeable owners were there to greet us (despite our late arrival from the airport) and even gave one of us a brief tour of the local attractions and amenities. They were extremely helpful throughout (especially during the reasonably frequent power cuts...).
The highlight of the week for the 3 young children (4 and 2 years and a baby) as well as the rest of the family was the superb swimming pool - lots of fun and games.
The upstairs lounge and terrace were excellent, though the kitchen was a little small when all 13 of us ate upstairs.
The local beaches (approx 10 minutes walk) were mostly stony but the water was clear and warm and the cafes were good.
We would certainly recommend the villa to other visitors and would be very happy to return. All in all, a very memorable holiday.

Stay at villa Thaleia

Wonderful !!
After a very long flight, a short journey (1.5 hours) from Athens leads us to Villa Thalia in Epidaurus. A wonderful experience for a wonderful price too. A calm aura surrounded us, perfect weather, nutritious sunshine and a sea and view that left us breathless. We enjoyed our stay every moment, so did our children who left their fantasies evolve by playing in the field within the property. We tasted fresh fruit directly from the trees, we travelled a lot around (even one day trip in Athens) visiting all points of interested (unfortunately no play at the theatre due to the period but still visited the theatre). Our promise: To visit again. Thank you very much.

Very nice house in a quiet location, authentic,
Very quiet, with no tourists, oranges, olives, the sea is really closed, and very convenient for 2 families with teanagers, as the house is split into 2 floors.
Only the WC in the the first floor have to be repaired.
We highly recommand this location
