Possibly the most amazing VRBO experience we have ever had. Trish was an incredible host. The house, the island and the ocean are indescribably beautiful. Highly recommend.

When we plan a trip, especially to another country, an involved house manager is key for me. Trish and her team at the Coconut House did not disappoint! Trish was extremely responsive to all of my pre trip questions (and I had a lot,) helped us pre arrange fishing, scuba, outings, and saved us when the inevitable hiccups happened. The house is beautiful, our teens all had their own bedrooms/bathrooms, and genuinely never uttered the word ‘bored.’ The dock is just as wonderful as the house, kids spent hours perfecting dives and flips, laying in the sun and watching sunsets. We saw an octopus, eagle ray, an eel, and tons of reef fish. We happily spent most of our time exploring the reefs around Treasure Beach, they are beautiful! Melvin took the boys fishing, & they came back with enough fish for the week! Kristie and Melvin cooked dinner for the first night, highly recommend that! We got to dive with Anke twice, totally personalized trips. Anke was amazing, smoothly guiding even our new diver through the experience and brought homemade treats! We loved every minute of our stay and would love to come back.

Útila is amazing, and this was a great house for our whole family. We had a wonderful trip! Trish was so kind and helpful. We went diving in the lovely waters and kayaking off the dock. Great home with great people.

A peaceful stay at Treasure Beach on Útila. Trish is outstanding and made sure that everything ran smoothly, both in preparation for the trip as well as for any needs that came up during our stay. We swam, snorkeled the house reef, discovered scuba diving with Anke, and relaxed. Far enough from town to be quiet even on Semana Santa, yet close enough to access everything that we needed or wanted.

When we decided to book this house it was due tonthe pictures and location. The pictures of this property look amazing, but wait until you arrive and see it in person. Our minds were blown at how picture perfect this house and property are. The house is large and comfortable, the bedrooms have great beds and linens. The open floor plan was great for hanging out in, but we found ourselves drawn to the amazing front porch and the perfect dock. The dock has unobstructed views of the water, the Cays, and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Snorkeling from the dock is amazing with so many species observed.
Trish was absolutely amazing at answering all our questions while we were planning and helped us figure things out while we were there. She made sure we had everything we needed to have the best vacation we have to date.
We will be rebooking soon

Very user friendly Great property It's a little isolated but that's what we were okay with and we had a great dive operator with weedive that came to our doc and made the diving a great experience.

Accommodations were fantastic, beautiful setting, amazing snorkeling right off the dock. Quiet and secluded location in a friendly neighborhood with a wonderful host. Great little slice of paradise.

House and bedrooms are laid out perfect for large group and age ranges. We had 3 couple and 2 children ages 4 and 9. Because of stairs in house I would not recommend small toddlers unless you bring a baby gate.
A personal dock was perfect for children to jump from and swim. Great snorkeling right from beach.
House was clean, our provisions were at house on arrival. Trish was wonderful to communicate with before our stay and during.
2 members of our group where able to get PADI certifications, picked up from house.
It is a journey to get to Utila from Idaho, but it was worth it.

First, it's important to know that the property manager is absolutely the BEST. Trish responded to every question and request, even the most minute. Secondly the house itself is beautiful, well built, spacious, and exactly as described. It did lack furniture, like a living room table bigger than 2x2 feet. A few chairs on the lower outside patio would be nice, too. There is no beach so all swimming is off the dock which is ok and the reef and clear water is the best anywhere. We would have liked some of the trash removed from the beach, but understood it is a construction site. We had to make sure only one person used water at a time since water pressure wasn't the best. Be sure to bring batteries and flashlights since electricity can be sporadic. If you use a CPAP bring a spare battery. Perhaps more enclosed boat to take us to and from the ferry would have been good since our baggage and ourselves got wet each way. And, lastly, do read the information about a "sliding fee scale" for the per night cost.

The Coconut house is built to perfection and has everything that you need for comfort on the south shore. Just a short water taxi to town if you like a little more action. The most beautiful snorkeling and dive sites are right out your door. Mrs. Trish will prepare you fully prior to and upon arrival with all the information and provisioning, if you choose. She is essential to treasure beach. -Jessica

Out of all the places we have been to, this is by far the best managed and most beautiful home we have ever stayed in. Trish is very accommodating and quick to answer questions. We had a group of 9 of us and there was more than enough room and amenities for all. The layout of the house is great for spreading out as well as having the dock too. We spent a lot of time at the house and really enjoyed being able to snorkel and kayak right in the front yard. The locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. There is so much to do on this beautiful island. Some highlights for us which we would recommend: Scuba diving with We Dive Utila (dive master Chris and Niko), lunch and snorkeling at Neptunes, trip to Water Caye, grocery shopping at the Utopia store close by, (they also deliver and are awesome). Fishing with Melvin. We also had Trish rent extra kayaks for all of us. We used them daily. We actually ran out of time do explore all the things we intended to do, so we will be going back for sure!! Trish, again thanks for your hospitality you are the best!!

We highly recommend the Coconut House. This is our second visit. Like before - great house - great management - overall excellent experience! The manager, Trish, and the boat captain, Captain Ronald, are easy to work with and provide awesome service. We will be back! The Goodwins and family and friends (from Texas)

We came to Honduras for a family vacation from Los Angeles, Ca. We wanted something secluded & easy access for snorkeling. The Coconut house is incredible! The reef is stunning and worth the travel and we enjoyed the deck very much to hang out on.
Trish is an incredible property manager, I can’t speak highly enough and we had a wonderful time with the local family next door and across the Cays. Everyone is very helpful and kind. We enjoyed walking down the beach to the market which is really incredibly well stocked. We also boated into town to take the kids to the chocolate factory and enjoyed the beautiful community beach.
My husband fished with the locals and had a great time, catching a lot.
I highly recommend Utilia for anyone looking for a safe peaceful relaxation and adventurous vacation! Must love ocean swimming and of course come prepared with bug spray/meds/snacks as you would traveling with a family but know you are very remote and in the jungle :). But I will repeat everyone is very helpful and the store has any necessities.
The house itself is very nice with an incredible shower & washer dryer. Better amenities than expected!
We look forward to coming back ✨💫🐠

Snorkeling in front of the house is excellent - no need to pay for guided trips. People in Utila town are friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

Scuba Divers Paradise
We stayed at The Coconut House for a family vacation in mid December 2020 for a week of scuba diving and relaxation. Our family of 5 included 3 grown children in their late teens to early 20's. The property was wonderful and exactly as advertised - the pictures represent the interior well. We spent our days diving with Utila Cays Diving and and our late afternoons and evenings relaxing on the deck or dock. This house enjoys both sunrise and sunsets over the water and most days we could view the mountains from mainland Honduras - absolutely picture post card. I loved the open concept with the kitchen and great room combination large enough for our group to stretch out and relax before dinner. We prepared our own dinners and had all the appliances, pots and pans we needed. We used both the grill and oven and deferred to the grill most nights to reduce the oven heat. Note - we never ran the air conditioners in the main house but did use them nightly for the bedrooms. All the bedrooms are laid out identically and include both large bathrooms with a double sink and large closets for storage. We did appreciate having an internet connection and did not miss the television! Without running the air conditioner in the main room, the house did get warm but certainly was bearable with the large ceiling fans helping with circulation. We did notice the breeze from the water was not significant in the house, however, from the top of the boat dock it was wonderful. I would advise bringing bug spray or baby oil to guard against the sand flies. A quick spray is all we needed.
If you are scuba diving we did rinse our equipment in the showers and dried it daily on the porch. UCD picked us up daily from the dock a few doors down - only a 3 minute walk to and from the house. The diving in Utila was great and we were fortunate to see nurse sharks on numerous days, 3 types of eels, and plenty of tropical reef fish, lobsters, and crabs.
Trish and Dave were available and responded very quickly whenever we made an outreach, both prior to and during our stay. We planned this trip in less than three weeks and appreciate the responsiveness they provided to a long list of questions! More importantly, they helped with the food provisioning, arranging for a water taxi when needed, and insured we had access to a printer for our Honduran pre-check customs forms (new requirement).
We can´t wait to return!!
