Our family had a great time as usual on the island! The house and amenities are nice and definitely suitable for a large family of 6-8, or two couples with 2-4 kids. In addition, Chad was a great host. When an issue arose with the coffee maker, he was was very supportive and quick in addressing the issue. The coffee maker switch quit functioning and upon contacting Chad with the issue, he not only provided us with a new coffee maker but also a French Press as a backup for the home!

We enjoyed our time on the island. Property was a precise as indicated. Chad was helpful in every way. We would book again and we carried our own golf cart made things easy to access on the island.

Quick communication and fabulous location.
10.0 / 10.0
The house is pleasant, clean, and comfortable. The location is extremely quiet and off the regular path of the small amount of traffic on the island. The property needs a little work to bring it up to best shape, but there was nothing lacking or intruding on our stay and we had a great time without incident or complaint. The location is about a mile from the beach by golf cart ride, though only several hundred yards by straight line visual. Mosquitoes are present, but not awful. They were only a nuisance down on the dock amid the mangroves. We would happily book here again.

We had the best time in Palm Island. We’ve stayed at many vrbo homes, this property has a fantastic floor plan! Plenty of space in every room of the house. The outside bar, deck, dock and land is fantastic. Lots of space to throw a football or run around. We brought our personal flats boat, used the dock and took it out every day/night for some snook fishing. The backyard is surrounded by mangroves which is super neat. Oh and the pool table on the upstairs screened in porch was a fun daily activity with the family. Loved having that! Beach chairs were nice and fairly new. We used those at the beach and would set up outside when wanting more seating. There is a corn hole game in the downstairs storage area too but we never had a chance to use it. We rented our golf cart through Coconuts which is part of Palm Beach resort. Such an easy process and everyone there was extremely friendly. We will definitely come back to Palm Island and looking to rent here again this summer. Communication was great and cleanliness of property was also 5 star.

The island is amazing and quiet. The house is spacious and provides everything needed for a large family. You need to rent a cart to get around. We will definitely be returning!

Great Location and large rooms
Cons: The outside is very overgrown and not like the pictures at all. Mechanically, the only issues we had were lights and fans not working. They are on a remote system and possibly the batteries were dead? We weren't in the house much so we just dealt with it. The lights downstairs at the bar did not work and only 1/3 fans as well. We would have loved to have spent more time down by the bar but the only seating was a few barstools. There is no seating on the upstairs balcony off the master bedroom.
Pros: The house itself was very clean and the large rooms held our family of 8 very comfortably. We were happy with the main deck, it had plenty of seating and the pool table was a great feature (although it was definitely worn from being outside and had some panels that were staring to peel on the sides)
Overall: Attention is needed to the wear and tear of the house and property, but we would stay again. The house and property served its purpose for our large family, and we had an amazing stay on the island!

Great for the price
This is our 2nd time staying on the island in a private residence. The home was in a good location on the canal. We rented a cart from Thoroughbred Golf Carts to get around the island, it was rather expensive because they charge an extra $300 for p/u and delivery. We found that we could have rented a cart from the resort for 1/4 of the price. The home was nice and comfortable for us. There was plenty eating space with the kitchen bar and the dining table. The home had some wear and tear, but we think that is reflected in the price we payed. The downstairs bar area was really dirty, we ended up cleaning this entire area(countertops sink and floors). Lastly this is the first and only VRBO that I have stayed where we had to wash and fold the linens. Many other hosts have guests to strip the beds and maybe start a load, but not also dry and fold. We had to wake up early(5a) to make sure we had ample time to do this. We always go above and beyond when cleaning before we leave, but this was not expected. Photos of the outside deck area were clearly not representative of its current state.

Good but could be great
We were two families that stayed at the house. The houses had lots of great things to offer - pool table, outdoor bar/ TV, fire pit, dock with boatlift. However it’s in need of some love. Almost every area of the house something was clearly broken for a while that has not been fixed. In the bedroom, the face of the drawer had completely come off, on the patio one of the love seats was majorly sunken in, the boat lift does not work, the leather couch in the living room has some holes in it with stuffing coming out. All of these things could be fixed rather easily and make it a really nice spot to enjoy Palm Island. From past reviews these are known issues that are just not being addressed for some reason. As an owner of other rental houses it blows my mind that these easily fixed things are not addressed.
One other thing to know, there’s an expectation that you do all of the laundry before you check out on your check out day. We were able to get this done but it could’ve been very difficult if we had to leave early for some reason.
I would give it a 3.5 stars if it would have been a choice.

Great Vacation!
Property manager was very responsive. When we got there the fridge was not working and he worked with the owner to get a brand new fridge and stove delivered within two days. Great space to hang out and the place had plenty of room for 8 people. We also enjoyed the tiki bar very much! A little long walk to the beach but very doable. Not the most convenient that there isn’t anywhere to get groceries on the island but that was not too bad to deal with. Overall great stay!

House needs updating
This home is in a prime location on Palm Island, but it is in disrepair and needs a serious overall and updating. While the owner requests "treat this like your own home and how it should be kept", he needs to live in it for a week to see the many things that need to be fixed, 1. Large hole in entry screen door that was attempted to put together by duct tape; 2. the kitchen cabinet housing the garbage has no support and falls to the floor every time you open it; 3. the stove does not work or cook properly maintaining consistent heat and the oven was absolutely filthy and caked with burnt residue; 4. the fridge was clean, but had a fish odor; 5.the small dresser in the bunk bed room, the door fell off and to the floor when you opened it; 6. the living room sofa has multiple tears in the cushions from wear and tear; 7. the patio furniture has no support when sitting in it; 8. our check in was at 4:00 pm and couldnt enter until closer to 5 pm due to cleaning crew still onsite; 9. this is a vacation home and guests are on vacation. To ask the guests to wash AND dry their own bedding and towels should not be asked. Stripping the beds and placing the laundry in the laundry room, I understand, but we spent over 2 hours doing laundry for all bedding and towels.. this should be a task for the cleaning crew, which is part of our cleaning fee. Again, a note to the owner, stay in this house for a week and you will see all of the issues with this house and the need to update it, get new furniture, replace appliances, TVs, outside furniture, etc. The cleaning crew did a nice job in cleaning the home, but unfortunately the repairs and broken items overshadow the true beauty this home COULD be.

Laid back and relaxed island vibe
We enjoyed having the dock and being in the canal. The walk to the beach was a little long, but perfectly doable. The property was clean but with some disrepair. We LOVED the master suite. The kids played so many games of pool we couldn’t try to count them. Blake tours came right to the dock to take us out for an afternoon on the water wear we saw lots of animal life including dolphins. Easy place to get some r & r.
We planned for at least one trip on the ferry mid trip which took some pressure off of the grocery shopping expectations.

Property in disrepair, Disappointing Stay
The pictures on VRBO have to be older. We found the property is not being maintained, which was known around the island, according to the 2 people we spoke with. It could be 5 stars if a property manager were involved or the owner lived nearby. Issues we encountered: Sheets/Towels dated/worn, Towels were very rough feeling, the couch had batting coming out of the back cushions with no support at all on the seat, many light bulbs were blown out or the lights aren't working, boat lift is not functional, garbage drawer falls out each time it's opened, oven door wouldn't close all the way, front screen door was duct taped, downstairs shower had drywall visible around the knob, washer lid wouldn't stay up due to right hinge being rusted through, broken chair on porch that couldn't be used, bunk beds had a fitted bottom sheets but no top sheets, the refrigerator smelled like fish The golf cart lady told us she tried to leave the cart in the front yard but the plug wasn't working. She also said there was poison ivy on it? The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we arrived. The stench was awful. There was no D/W soap on site which explains why they were never run. We hand washed all of ours. The host asks the vacationer to wash, dry, and fold all the sheets/towels before leaving. He does allow extra time to accomplish this. The beds were comfortable and the A/C worked really well. We had no wifi but had to hot spot off our own Xfinity account using our password for our home. We think the modem is non-functional. I was in contact with host about this but he could not correct the problem over the weekend. The host is good about reaching out to all inquiries very quickly. Chad was very pleasant to work with. We have stayed at many VRBO's and this has been the worst experience to date. Unfortunately, we won't stay at this property again.

Wonderful Old Florida Weekend
We booked this weekend a few months ago, and as it approached the weather was questionable with a looming tropical depression in the gulf. The property manager was in constant communication and very willing to work with us if scheduling adjustments were needed. We decided to make the trip and we are so glad that we did. The adult kids had a blast, the older adults did too. The kitchen is well stocked and made cooking easy and dining at the house convenient. We also enjoyed a few meals out at some of the great local spots we reached by boat or golf cart. We love the ice cream at Palm Island Resort and spent time at the nearby beach. When it rained we had game nights and movies to pass the time. The island even has little library stations at the end of the streets where we grabbed some books.
The house has some wear and could use some refreshing but if you’re into a relaxed and easy weekend it really gets the job done.
We can’t wait to come back.

Beach House
We rented this house for our Honeymoon. We arrived by boat and was pretty easy to find. Misquotes were awful but you can’t help that. Once we arrived we had a hard time finding the keys. The house was very spacious. The house was clean when we arrived. When we arrived it was late and was unable to reach anyone until the next day. The AC was dripping was in the main intake pretty bad. We cleaned the air filter and once we did that it didn’t seam to leak as much. During business hours we were able to reach someone with no issues. Over all this was a very nice house. We spent most of our time out on the water when it wasn’t raining.

Great house for friends to get away
Had a wonderful time on PI boating and fishing. House was in good condition and was plenty roomy for the 8 of us. Having a dock to pull the boats up to was an absolute luxury. Chad was more than helpful the few times I needed to reach out and made us all feel right at home

Great place for an escape.
House was spacious for 2 couples. Staying on an island was a new experience. Since using the ferry was time consuming and expensive, plan to take everything your party needs. Excellent place to ride our bikes and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the one on-island restaurant. We enjoyed the visit and will return to the island.

Island Getaway
Weather was perfect. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves. The house was spacious. Spent most of our time by the fire pit and bar. It was a great family vacation! There was a small leak in the dishwasher but I’m sure they fixed that. I would go back.

Peaceful get away with the family
We had an awesome time with the family here. We brought our boat and were able to launch, fish, and enjoy all water activity. Property is located on the canal side so we rode to the ocean on bikes we rented from the resort. Call and schedule a golf cart in advance as they were out at the resort, even though we were told by a resort representative when we called earlier that week that all we had to do was show up on a certain day at a certain time. The other option would be to order a golf cart in advance from another company the property manager will provide you. We grilled out, had bon fires, played games, had so much fun, and we even slept comfortably.

We really enjoyed this home and the island. We thought the island itself would be more fishing-friendly than it was so if you’re coming to fish I would recommend renting a boat or getting a charter. If you don’t get a boat make sure you get live bait or have a cast net before coming to the island — there are no bait or tackle shops. The dock was nice but a little hard to cast from, still managed to reel in two tarpons!! The house was pet friendly and nicely furnished. Perhaps the cleaning crew was rushed with the tropical storm last week because some things were overlooked (like dishes, a load still damp in the dryer, and sticky door handles) but it was no biggie and the wonderful atmosphere made up for it. We loved the fire pit and downstairs bar/patio. The washer didn’t work so we felt bad for leaving the sheets and towels for the cleaning crew to figure out instead of being able to wash and dry them before checkout as is requested by the owner. The beds were very comfortable and water pressure and temperature was great. Overall it was a wonderful stay and we hope to go back again soon. The owner is very nice and communicative as well. Oh— and not sure if this was just a fluke but there was an alligator hanging out in the brackish water by the dock in the morning and around dusk. He might have been displaced with the recent storm but around high tide at night we were too nervous to hang out at the water line. Especially with a snack-sized dog. Lol.

Beautiful getaway
We traveled to the property by boat and car. The house is beautiful and spacious, and had everything we need. Except for the boat lift, everything was in good working order and very clean. Especially the A/C, very important in August, in Florida. Palm Island is a tropical paradise and kept pristine by all the homeowners and caretakers. Beautiful beach!
The owner was very responsive and helpful with a few questions we had. We hope to go back!!

Lovely house and island
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. Palm Island is a relaxed place to get away. This house was mostly as advertised. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor space -- playing pool, fishing, and making s'mores. The beds were comfortable, and the house was clean.
A few things I wish I'd known ahead of time:
-- The Gulf views from the private porch are only available if standing (not even sitting) on the small third-floor deck. The house has a lot of really fantastic outdoor space, though.
-- Because there is not a grocery store and only one restaurant on the island, bring absolutely everything you need with you to the house. It's a pretty sparsely furnished kitchen, without even ziploc bags or saran wrap to put away leftovers. Purchasing just about anything would take another expensive ferry ride back to the mainland.
-- The owner insists that the A/C be turned off between guests, so the house was 84 degrees when we arrived in the evening. It took a few uncomfortable hours for it to cool off enough to sleep.

3 Nights of Paradise
I wanted to take the family on a mini vacation that wasn't far from home. This property was available for the days we had off from work and they are pet friendly! Definitely a bonus! The house was very nice and clean and there were no issues. We enjoyed the outside bar area very much as well.
The house was well furnished with all the comforts of home. Plenty of dishes, sheets, towels, toilet paper, and cooking utensils. The kitchen cabinet was well stocked with seasonings and cooking supplies. The only thing I seen missing was a wine opener but we got around that. The property comes with 2 beach chairs, 1 umbrella, many beach towels, and a shell sifter that came in very handy on the beach.
You can rent a golf cart from Palm Island Resort that you need to do ahead of time. It's also cheap to rent. It really is a must to get around and view the island. The public beach access is only a couple minute golf cart ride away.
Chad was very helpful with answering questions that I had with the rental. I would definitely recommend staying at this house if you like island living and if you have a boat or kayak. They have a dock and boat lift for you.
We will definitely be back!

Our first Palm Island visit
Like everyone else, our summer plans were washed away by COVID 19. Our family knew we needed a change of scenery without a long drive. We booked our VRBO stay at the last minute - and a golf cart rental - and headed out for our first trip to Palm Island! This home has everything: plenty of space for guests, great views, a well-equipped spacious kitchen, a dock, a pool table under a screened in porch, a downstairs entertainment area and fire pit. Friends joined us for one day and had a blast too! We enjoyed everything and look forward to coming back!
