About this cottage rental
Greetings, allow me to introduce myself. I am Miss Monroe, I am a duplex and Ms Monroe is directly beside me, we can both be rented together as a 3 bedroom as well (ask hosts about our availability if you need 3 bedrooms) We are known as the Midtown/VA Highland's Roller-coaster! This peculiar name was bestowed upon me due to my location atop a steep hill that requires some effort to reach. I value honesty and transparency, so let me be upfront about who I am: a true Urban City Gal. I adore all that the city has to offer, including its vibrant noises. Positioned on one of Atlanta's busiest and most frequented streets, my surroundings never sleep, and I take great pride in that fact. When you choose to stay with me, prepare to be serenaded by the constant symphony of sounds that inspires me day and night. If you're not a fan of the diverse array of noises, be it white, black, blue, green, or whatever new term they've coined for it this year, then I may not be your cup of tea. (I do have a small sound machine in each sleeping area to support with blocking out city noise) ) To me, these nocturnal sounds resemble the calming ebb and flow of the ocean. If I desired silence at night, I would have insisted on being constructed in the tranquil N Ga Mountain. I also want to make it clear that I am not a youthful, newly developed urban beauty, and I have no desire to be compared to them. Of course, I could have undergone various rejuvenating procedures, but I made the conscious decision to age gracefully. No facelifts for me (I despise power tools), what you see is what you get. My plumbing and electrical systems may be on the older side, and you may encounter unfamiliar noises here and there. Forget about soundproofing; that concept wasn't even considered back in 1930. Furthermore, my bathroom is on the cozier side (I'm thrilled to have maintained my size over all these years). I may not possess a sleek, polished appearance; instead, I boast a weathered charm vibe. —Now, let's discuss my strengths. I am situated in a sublime area of Midtown, with the magnificent Piedmont Park spanning hundreds of acres right behind me. This picturesque park offers the perfect setting for picnics, weekend events, or leisurely strolls with your furry companions. Additionally, I am just minutes away from all the thrilling city attractions. Your culinary needs will be met by my fully-equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare delightful meals for your family during your stay. Furthermore, I offer a marvelous vantage point for people-watching, as I sit high above Monroe Drive. Unlike many others, I provide the luxury of off-street parking. If you fancy a leisurely walk or a quick jog, you'll find various restaurants, pubs, and running/walking areas within easy reach. And let's not forget the excitement of Ponce City Market, a mere stone's throw away, offering a plethora of enjoyable shopping experiences.

This is a comfortable apartment located steps from Piedmont Park. I stayed there with my dogs and loved how easy it was to walk them in the park and go to the dog park. Also very convenient to Midtown, Virginia Highlands and Buckhead. It is an older property, but is well appointed. The host team members are very good communicators. Checked in twice during my stay to make sure I had everything I needed.

We loved the location of the Roller-Coaster, so close to all the attractions we were headed to in the City. Everything we needed to be comfortable was easily found and our property managers were easy to communicate with. The driveway was interesting, but it gives the property a great name!

My mom and I very much enjoyed our stay in the cottage, it was perfect for us. We especially enjoyed drinking coffee in the breakfast nook and sitting in the evening at the outside patio. Everything we needed was provided and we both thought the beds were exceptional!

This was the perfect apartment for our three day stay in Atlanta. Great location, very clean, and exactly as advertised. Hosts were extremely welcoming and very responsive to communication. I had a minor issue with the lock on the door but was able to get it resolved within minutes because of how responsive owners were. I highly recommend.

Everything went as planned. Loved the place and the location. Pay heed to the description (especially regarding the driveway). We did not have any issues, but it could be an issue. The lights at the Botanical Gardens were INCREDIBLE!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cozy house. It was just my teenage daughter and me and it was the perfect size. Everything was clean and neat, lots of little extras to make our stay easy. It was the best location to Piedmont Park, it made for an easy and safe walk. Definitely will stay again recommend this for a quiet getaway for mother/daughter trip or couples trip.

The house was cozy and had everything we needed to “work from home.” Lots of places within walking distance for groceries, food and drinks. There was a day during our stay that the unit behind ours was under construction. The entire driveway was blocked off, so we were unable to leave in our vehicles. The construction noise was incredibly loud and distracting, and made it hard to work. It was frustrating because the host did not communicate at all about this. There was zero acknowledgment before or after.

The door in the kitchen that separates the two units is a poor sound insulator.
Warning on the steepness and width of the drive would be a good idea. A full size SUV would have a real issue with it.

Great location to most of what we were doing this weekend. Older building, but full of charm and an at home feeling to it.

My dad, two boys, and I stayed here for one night when we came down to watch a Hawks game. The property was everything that was described and was in a location perfect for us!

Convenient, clean, safe place to stay
The directions and overall communication from the home owners was great. The driveway was manageable and using the "driveway stairs" when walking up and down helps a great deal! The tip in another review about entering the drive from the left was 100% accurate. This house is located in a family oriented neighborhood, within easy walking distance to a HUGE park (piedmont park), Marta bus stop, and local restaurants. Only about 10 to 15 minute drive to downtown Atlanta where there is tons of things to do ( we LOVED the Georgia Aquariam). Grocery stores are about a half mile (?) away. Overall, convenient location, Clean and comfortable house, and our doggie was happy there too!

Next time.. someplace else.
Great location, tiny place with charm, but also had a lingering vomit smell in the kitchen that seemed to be a permanent resident and that driveway is no joke. Wet pavement on our check in day and the driver almost didn't make it up. That was the only time we had any drivers come up to get us, and walking up and down it with purchases and luggage wasn't a treat either. Prolly won't repeat the experience.

Loved it
We loved the character of this vintage duplex!!! Charming cottage, great location to so many Atlanta attractions, minutes from downtown and seconds to Starbucks. Host upgraded us due to a cleaning schedule mix up without us asking, the larger side of the duplex fit us perfectly. Super easy to communicate with host. Would love to stay here again!

Quiet Neighborhood close to the City
Quaint old home with modern updates that don't take away from the charm. Nearby park with lots of trails, ponds, playgrounds, a community swim pool and a dog park with lots of rental bikes and scooters around. This roller coaster (driveway) is not for the feint of heart and is easier to access if you take a left into it.

Great all around rental
Was great for a Quick getaway to the ATL area. Restaurants and park within walking distance or short Uber into town. Host was responsive and great to work with.

Charming property in great location
Our stay was enjoyable and the property had all the amenities you could need. The driveway is not for the faint-hearted, but the detailed instructions provided by the host were very helpful. There is a lot of road noise as the house is in a busy street - but the location is amazing;; easy walk to Piedmont Park!

Steep driveway
This property is a cute old bungalow that has been decorated nicely. The only problem was the steep driveway on a busy street covered in acorns and barely wide enough for a car to get through. We were warned of this in the confirmation email.

Cute property
The location of this property is on a very steep hill, which is shown in the pictures. However, it was quite stressful driving our car up and down the driveway. The traffic on the road makes it quite difficult to get in and out of the driveway with the hill. However, it's a great spot if you want to be close to the Aquarium and other attractions. We also had noise issues at night with animals in the attic. Owner offered to move us to another property, but we decided to leave early instead. Owner said she had it inspected and nothing was found. Overall, it's a very cute property. We would have stayed longer if it weren't for the noise at night. By the time we packed up our car, we weren't too thrilled about unpacking again at another property. The offer was appreciated though.

Charming, comfortable Stay
We enjoyed our stay. It was comfortable and close to the Botanical gardens. Very cute apartment. The driveway is very steep and a little scary. Best to go to Wellness parking across road to get a straight shot. Also, you must listen closely to safety lock to know when it is working.

A few issues
Landlords were in good contact. However, keyless entry never worked, no outdoor garbage cans as stated in instructions. Vrbo issued a checkout notice on Saturday evening stating we had checked out early. That is concerning as we never input this information. Driveway is too steep- if it should be raining I’d really worry. Cute place inside though. Other places offer morning coffee supply, this place did not.
