About this cottage rental
Located on Dufur Brook in Glen Sutton this peaceful retreat, with views of mountains and rivers and surrounded by gardens is situated in one of the most charming regions of the Eastern Townships. Sutton and its surrounding area is well known for its artists and artisans. Gift and clothing boutiques, excellent bakeries and fine dining are all within a short distance.
A twenty minute drive from Sutton village and Mansonville, three different ski hills (Jay Peak, Owl's head and Sutton), golf courses, cross country ski trails, this is a great location for skiing, snowboarding, biking, canoeing/kayaking, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching or simply taking a long walk along wooded trails or picturesque mountain roads.
Built and designed by artists using local materials, this rustic yet comfortable home is fully equipped with all that is needed to create your own ideal vacation.
We have 3 chalets on 7 beautiful acres. The Chalet Romantique and the Chalet Magnifique are linked by a long annex, but both are completely private (private entrances, gardens, gazebos and accesses to the brook, etc). Chalet Sean is independent.
Most of our guests are couples who come to experience tranquility and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds our chalets. Our guests’ sense of solitude and peace is our priority. Snowmobiles are not allowed.

We booked last minute for the eclipse after our previous plans changed. What a role of good fortune that was! This place was truly wonderful to stay at and I think the listing undersells that. There was such little details and intention in the chalet that made us feel right at home and relaxed. We ended up spending a fair amount of time on the property and it was serene. The brook in the back was our favorite and the whole experience felt very private, even with no leaves on the trees. Would definitely stay here again!

Elisa was wonderful and this place is so peaceful. Deep soaking tub, great decorations, best kitchen I've seen for cooking in. Lots of wood for the stove with other heating systems if that's not what you want.
I will be staying there again. Made the perfect retreat!

The cabin was about 25 min away from Mount Sutton which at first seemed long . It turned out to be a perfect place to be st the end of our ski day. We cooked in which we love to do . It was perfect , quiet and clean and cozy. It had everything we needed. Wood burning fire. Will come back again . Mount Sutton was awesome despite this winter and lack of snow.

My spouse and I stayed in the Chalet Romantique for 2 weeks and could not have been happier. It was everything we were looking for, both the chalet and the surroundings which are absolutely beautiful. The chalet has everything you need, right down to having a freshly sharpened set of cooking knives. And Elisa is an amazing and friendly host. The property is a 20 minute drive from Sutton, which also has everything one needs. We will very much look forward to returning. Thank you Elisa.

We were so impressed with the gorgeous grounds! Trees, flowerbeds, pond, etc. At first, we were sorry to be 25 minutes from our family reunion people in Sutton, but soon we came to appreciate the utter beauty and serenity of this lovely home. It provided a real "escape" from my chaotic family !

My husband, our 6 month old puppy and I enjoyed the most idyllc three days at this stunning property, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary.. The grounds are simply breathtaking and there is no way photos can do justice to the beauty and serenity that awaits you. We were there in early May and the gardens are nothing short of spectacular. We can only imagine what they must look like in the middle of summer when everything is in full bloom. We stayed in the 1 bedroom Romantique Chalet and it was perfect for us. It is extremely well equipped with lovely pottery and so many thoughtful and artistic touches. Elisa and Guy are the kindest and most welcoming hosts, who go out of their way to ensure their guests feel at home. And we cannot forget Coal, their awesome poodle who befriended our puppy, keeping him entertained and occupied so we could relax and just take in the beauty. We returned from our getaway feeling rejuvenated and relaxed and look forward to going back. If I could give this property and this experience 10 stars I would!

Elisa's Chalet Romantique is 1000 square feet of beauty, warmth and relaxation. Just when I was sure I had noticed all of her charming decorative elements, I saw another one. The Chalet is generously equipped with kitchen amenities such as spices, cookware and utensils. The entire space was immaculately clean. The fire in the woodstove was spreading warmth throughout our space when we arrived. The handy sleds helped us get luggage and groceries in. Firewood is dry, long-burning, plentiful and perfectly cut for the woodstove. We loved watching the blue jays hopping and fluttering around the small fir tree just outside the dining area window -- Elisa had 'seeded' the tree and left a nice block of suet for the birds.
Chalet Romantique is a quick drive to Sutton, with Knowlton and Lake Brome just a little further north.
Elisa is a warm and welcoming host. Her guest books clearly show the connections she creates with her guests. It was a lovely spot for a relaxing and memorable looking weekend.

Elisa's Chalet Romantique is a sweet little haven that feels both remote and within reach of shopping and restaurants. The thoughtful touches abound both inside and out. Everything that might contribute to guests' comfort and enjoyment has been anticipated by this warm and engaging host. I have to wonder if Elisa's 'day job' is in interior design... the space has a delightful mix of antiques and Japanese/Eastern decor. The woodstove was going and our space was warm when we arrived, and the wood box was full for us. Extra wood was plentiful, dry, long-burning, perfectly cut and split. The kitchen is well-stocked... the bathroom and shower are beautiful... the bedroom is lovely and comfortable. There is an abundance of dresser and closet space. And every inch of this 1000 sq ft cozy space is sparkling clean. Watching the blue jays flitting around outside from our dining table was great fun.
Can you tell? We loved our stay here.
