Great location with fascinating amenities. The Onsen was fantastic! The food onsite was delicious and they had good coffee in the breakfast buffet!

The breakfast was great! The staff was kind. The futon and accommodation was good enough.
Though it was close from the station, I didn't realize the location was up a steep hill. Holding an infant and walking with a toddler and two suitcases was a bit hard - if I had known, I would've taken the taxi. The instructions for the onsen was a bit confusing and hard to figure out. Everything is in Japanese and the system did not seem intuitive.

Many items offered, very good quality. Traditional regional breakfast items offered.

I write to express my disappointment with the dinner arrangement which was included in the package. I read in earlier review that there were a lot of dishes in dinner which I suspect was Kaiseki, that's why I chose this hotel. It turned out that my room was given a Beef Sukiyaki set. I met another group staying here and they were given the Kaiseki set, which they found very satisfying. I think this is quite unfair to us, because we were not given any choice when we booked the hotel. I hope readers of this review will take into account of the dinner arrangement and enquire with the hotel if they are given choices of dinner set. As for going to the onsen and restaurant, the hotel has troublesome arrangement. You need to put away your footwear before going into the elevator. You are given a pair of socks that you walk with during your stay in those two levels. Commuting between your room and the two levels requires putting on and taking off the same pair of socks lessens your free movement. I can see the dirt at the sole part of the socks and it was so unhygienic. It might also be helpful to note that you need to bring your room towel every time you go to the onsen and there is no free exchange for a new dry towel, i.e. you can pay additional fee of 200+ yen for an extra dry towel.

Good food court with good price.
Near the center of Arima Onsen.
Good Onsens.

There are 5 open-air baths on the 2nd floor, which were nice and the meals were good. Even the simple internal onsen at the B1 was nice to wash in the morning.
The hotel is on a steep hill, so it was a little difficult to walk. The shuttle stops in front of the station, so take it up. We didn't have any information, so we walked up.

cleanness
food quality not really good

the room style is very cool, purely retro 70s.
way too crowded as the onsen is open to non-hotel guests. the place is very chaotic, not the relaxing experience I was looking for. they told me last order was at 21:00 at the restaurant and when I showed up at 20:40 the manager told me the last order was at 20:30 and they didn’t serve me any food. not ideal when you are in a remote location in the middle of nowhere. also way too expensive for what it is.

location is good, walking distance to Main Street & train station
confusion as hotel is linked to public bathhouse. could be better if there was an open-air onsen for hotel guest.

The staff are very friendly and professional.
The onsen is good, very relaxing. You can pay extra to enter more onsen but I only went to the free one and I enjoyed it very much.
The dinner is disappointed, not as delicious as we were expected
No free bottle of water in the room provided

Frequent free bus transportation from train station to hotel, hotel to train station. They also provided free bus to the ropeway. Osen had various experiences.
Setup to use a separate elevator (one of 2 elevators) to the special osen and breakfast was hard to understand at first. At the elevator removing your slippers and putting on a special sock was a bit confusing. Once you use it, it's ok.

Large Japanese room with beautiful view of towering bamboo. Comfy futons, tea and kettle, nice bathroom, good breakfast and access to adjacent large and busy onsen. Visit information center upon arrival, they will call shuttle and hotel will pick you up. Very accommodating staff.
Nowhere outside of room to relax (except beverage room and a few chairs in lobby). Wished there would have been a comfy sitting area.
No food at hotel. Some staff spoke some English but not others.

The Japanese style room was very beautiful, the breakfast very nice. But I mostly recommend this hotel for the internal onsen which was the best I never tried. Super beautiful and big, with different spaces both indoor and outdoor. Very recommend
