About this chalet rental
A spacious self-catering chalet in the lovely French Alpine village of St Bon Courchevel in the world's largest ski resort of The Three Valleys. At 1100m altitude the chalet has stunning views and is only a couple of minutes’ drive to the fast ski lifts of Le Praz Courchevel 1300 which will whisk you onto the slopes!
A good free ski bus service stops just 200 m from the chalet, and in good snow conditions you can ski back to the charming village of St Bon.
The ski buses go straight to the Le Praz ski lifts, and on to other resorts. The first bus stop after St Bon is near the excellent ski lift station (the Alpinium) in Courchevel Le Praz (1300) where you can buy lift passes (either for the Courchevel valley, or for all the Three Valleys), get piste maps, bus timetables, get details of all events and entertainments, and it has ski lockers next to the lifts if you or your children prefer not to carry them around all week!
The fabulous Aquamotion with its indoor surfing, wild rivers, water slides, climbing, beauty and wellness zones is just 10 minutes away. The massive Paradiski area at Champagny-en-Vanoise is less than 20 minutes’ drive, and it’s half an hour to the smaller resort of Pralognan.
The Black Pearl Pizza restaurant (plus a take-away service), with its wood fired oven and vaulted ceiling, is only a 500 metres walk and the free resort buses run late into the night for visiting the many other restaurants, shops and bars in the resort villages.
Chalet L'Orbeye is tastefully finished with plenty of room for up to 11 guests. All of the 4 bedrooms have wall-mounted flatscreen TVs including French and UK channels, a tablet PC complete with games and other functions and there is free unlimited WiFi in the chalet.
The spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area is fully refurbished in Alpine style with a stylish wood burning stove on a stone hearth. Three new comfy leather sofas plus other seating let you relax to watch the Samsung 40 inch flat screen TV with Sky, French or UK channels after a long day on the slopes. There is a DVD collection of 50 movies, books to read, and games to play. The kitchen is fully equipped with hand made solid wooden units and includes a retro Smeg fridge/freezer, dishwasher, raclette set for apres-ski and everything you need to enjoy a self-catered holiday.
Chalet L'Orbeye has its own integrated boot room with heated ski boot racks, an entrance from the garden plus internal stairs up to the living area which like the boot room and rest of the chalet has thermostatically controlled heating. There is parking on the driveway for up to three cars.

We had a wonderful time in Chalet L’orbeye. We are a family of five with 3 teenagers so plenty of space. A week in August was not long enough! The views from the property are spectacular and we were able to hike & bike directly from the chalet. We regularly played paddle in St Bon and went to both Bozel and Le Praz lakes. We road cycled and hired bikes from Le Praz for mountain biking. We also managed a long walk from the Vanoise National Park. We were blessed with hot weather all week though this is not always the case in the summer so come prepared! The owner was extremely helpful and even organised a new BBQ for our stay. Thank you Julian for sharing your wonderful chalet with us!

Second year here.
Chalet is exactly as described.
Very, comfortable, clean and well equipped.
Quiet , picturesque location.
Easy access to ski bus.
Fred, local ski hire shop, very good.
Used the well stocked small Carrefour in Moriond for our “supplies”, didn’t seem to be that expensive .
We’ll hopefully return.

Eleven off us stayed in the Chalet, three generations of the family.
The chalet was clean well appointed and well located for the ski bus.
Three of the bedrooms are en suite and are impressive. The route from the airport to the chalet passes SuperU a big supermarket. Top tip place an online order to collect when you transfer.
There is a small convenience store in the village. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We got fresh baguettes and pastries every morning.
We want to book for next year and even book for the summer to enjoy the scenery without the snow. #Lovely.

As chalets owners we know the pitfalls of renting a property. L'Orbeye is just beautiful. Large enough for a group, small enough to be intimate. I booked it for my Mother, sister and our children, could not have asked for anything more. Little supermarket 5 mins walk for baguettes and croissants, ski bus less than 5 mins away, 5 mins to Le Praz. And Julian a dream to deal with.

Much better than the photos . More spacious than we expected. Very comfortable. A peaceful location with breathtaking views
Property information full and accurate.
Ideal for the free ski bus to the slopes.
We found two supermarkets in Courcheval Moriond which stocked all we needed, the ski bus stops right outside!
We are planning a return trip!

We really liked our stay in Saint-Bon. The chalet is superbe! Very clean, a lot of space, 4 comfortable rooms with own bathroom. Nice kitchen where you can find everything you need. We recommend the raclette from the local shop. It
was made with a lot of love and very tasteful. You can also use an equipment from the shop if you do not want to use the one in the chalet. Bus stop to ski was very close. We also loved the fire place in the evening. Everything was perfect!

Very pretty location , easy access to the bus, great views, very comfortable place to stay with plenty of space in the living area and around the table for dinner. Parking is plentiful.

We had a brilliant week in the chalet. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 young children, and the chalet provided us with everything we needed. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, with great views from the top two bedrooms. The main living area is super cosy with comfy sofas and a wood burning stove. The kitchen is very well stocked, allowing us to cook at home every night. The location is great - just a short walk to the local supermarket, which has everything you need. The bus stop outside is very convenient (once you've looked at the bus schedule), and allowed us to get to the ski area and the other Courchevel villages with no problems. We loved our stay here, and we'd love to come back again some time!

This is our 2nd holiday in the chalet, and was as good as last time, we have had to cancel twice because of covid regulations and every time Julian has been more than fair with sorting everything out. I would highly recommend this chalet for family`s and friends alike.

This was a great chalet for our cycling holiday, very well equipped with very clean bathrooms and toilets with plenty of towels and sheets supplied. We were there to climb some famous Tour De France cols but we also went off the beaten track up to Pralognan and beyond to Rocher de Peche and above Champagny en Vanoise into the beautiful valley above under the Grand Bec summit - those are definitely places you should visit for the awesome views and the chalet was a great base for us, be warned though if cycling there are no flat routes nearby, it's all up or down. There are plenty of hikes nearby as well if you're that way inclined, these are well signed.

Nice property, but the owner might hit you with extra cleaning charges
We enjoyed the stay. The room are as described and bed are comfortable, except the hot water stopped after 10pm for 4 nights. That was not very good for those took late showers before going to bed. Location is convenient.
However, to our surprise, the owner charged us extra for cleaning for reasons that are subjective and impossible to quantify. We stayed in AirBnb a lot and always have good rating in taking care of the property we stayed. This is the first time we had someone complained about us.
Be ware of being hit for extra charges if you choose this property.
Thanks

Second time we booked at Chalet Orbeye, which says it all ! The chalet is welcoming, warm, and very convenient at the same time. Julian's communication is perfect.
Very well located, in St Bon - Courchevel 1100. Although ski lifts were closed because of Covid, this was the opportunity to discover there are plenty of other things to do in Courchevel and surroundings.
Thanks again for letting us enjoy holiday at your place Julian. Hope you'll be able to come over to France soon.

Perfect chalet for a group
We had such a great time at Chalet L'Orbeye, it is the perfect chalet retreat for a group. Julian was really helpful from the moment we made the booking and even allowed early check in to fit in with our early flight arrival time (really appreciated!). We stopped at the supermarket on the way and then had everything we needed for a week's skiing.
The Chalet was really well equipped and we used the kitchen constantly. Having linen and cleaning included in the price made such a difference and everything was sparkling clean and great quality. The kitchen was really well appointed and we made good use of it over the week. The log burning stove made the lounge cosy whilst watching a spot of UK TV - great relaxer after a day on the slopes.
The ski bus was just down the road and once we mastered the timetable, was a breeze. The ski area was, of course, brilliant and having access whilst in such a good value and luxury chalet was perfect.
Thank you Julian for letting us stay in your lovely chalet. We have already recommended it to others as a great base for a holiday.

Just splendid!
From start to finish the booking, communication and quality of the chalet was excellent.
The chalet surpassed expectations, it is very well appointed with everything one could wish for and more than large enough to easily accommodate two families. Coming back after a hard day on the slopes we were greeted by a warm and cosy atmosphere.
Getting to Le Praz was a breeze on the ski bus which was only a short walk down the lane. The Black Pearl served great pizzas and the shop easily catered for our culinary needs. The ski shop by Fred was also very easy to access and the equipment was of a high standard.
Overall, we could not ask for a better experience and we will definitely be back. The only downside is that we had to leave.

Yet another wonderful stay
This was our 4th visit to this beautiful chalet. It is so well located with easy access to the fantastic ski area. We travel to the chalet by car but don’t need to use it as the ski bus is so close and convenient. It runs late into the evening so is great for apres ski evenings! The kitchen is so well appointed that it is a pleasure to spend evenings in the chalet especially when the log burner is blazing!
The Balck Pearl pizza restaurant was as delicious as ever and with a picher of rose being very reasonable and very tasty it is a great evening out.
We will be back!

Fabulous chalet!
Beautifully finished and fitted out chalet. Not always possible to ski back to Saint Bon (1100m) but the ski bus runs regularly from Le Praz and only takes a few minutes.

Perfect chalet in beautiful village location.
The views from the bedroom balcony with birdsong all around made waking up in the morning a real pleasure! It was glorious in summer and just as spectacular as when I first stayed in the Winter for a skiing holiday. The sunny garden terrace through French doors from the living area was very convenient and a peaceful place to eat and relax. There was loads of space for our large party, the facilities were first class and the open plan sitting room was great for evening drinks and games. The chalet was well placed and within easy reach of lots of alpine activities. We used the efficient cable car system to walk high up in the mountains as well as down some gorgeous valleys and there is a lovely lake nearby with beachside swimming. We explored several friendly villages and loved the village markets which were great fun! This was a great place to stay with walks from the door around the village and up the mountainside. A good, traditional pizzeria was situated 5 minutes from the chalet which was well worth a visit. Helpful host supplying lots of information. Many thanks for a wonderful holiday! Hazel Barringer

Wonderful Christmas
We had the most amazing Christmas, the chalet was perfect for our family, it was very well equipped for self catering and perfect for the slopes. Everything in the chalet is very high quality from bedding to utensils, the bedrooms and bathrooms were also excellent. The owners have thought of everything a guest could need for a great stay, there were games, books and dvds. We would love to take our family again in the future.

Fabulous summer break
Beautiful, comfortable , homely chalet situated in stunning scenery. We had a lovely relaxing holiday exploring the local area. We were ideally situated with nearby ski lifts to get us to the top of expansive walking areas. I would thoroughly recommend this chalet for a summer or winter stay, a fabulous base to enjoy the French Alps..thanks Julian and Lynne for sharing your home from home.

Another wonderful stay in beautiful chalet
This was our third stay in the chalet and yet again we were not disappointed. The chalet is so well situated for the ski bus which gives you easy access to the ski slopes and for non skiers also gives access up to Courchevel. The chalet is so well appointed that we ate in most nights. If you want to eat at the Black Pearl pizza restaurant reserve when you arrive as it is closed Monday to Thursday and we were unable to get a table as didn’t ring in time. We will be back!

Great chalet for family get together.
We were a family group of 3 generations. The chalet provided enough space for eating, sleeping and for playing with Lego. (Grandchild's own)
The chalet was warm, well equipped and clean.
The heated boot room was much appreciated.
We enjoyed lovely weather and excellent ski conditions. The grandchildren loved the family park and other spots that had been sculptured for fun. The winter Olympic Games definitely influenced their activities.
The family ski pass that allows adults to ski at children's prices was great value.
The ski bus was very convenient, being regular and punctual.
I am a non skier and planned to make use of the impressive Aquamotion, also accessed by the ski bus, however a long standing injury to the hand prevented this. Instead I made use of the well marked winter footpaths.
2 little niggles.
I would have liked sharp kitchen knives .
There was a great range of dishes for cooking in the oven but I would have liked a large pan for cooking 'family sized' quantities of pasta etc.
Julian was easy to communicate with and responded to my questions and requests promptly and positively.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this chalet.

Another fantastic stay
It is impossible to tire of this wonderful chalet in the old village of Courchevel St Bon. We have stayed in both summer and winter and shall keep coming back. The property is beautiful inside and out and very well appointed and maintained. The exceedingly efficient wood burning fire makes it warm and cosy throughout.
The location of the stop for the free ski bus makes this such a good venue. Make sure you know the return times from the various resorts to avoid a wait when tired at the end of the day.
For able non skiers there are an increasing number of well signed and well groomed walking trails. Meet up with your skiing friends and family for lunch at mountain restaurants like Bel Air, Bou Blanc or Chenus (and others). For an alternative skiing and walking venue try a day out in Pralognan on the other side of the valley.
Would I recommend this chalet and this area to a friend? You bet I would but only if I could come as well.

Perfect Chalet for a perfect Christmas!
We stayed at the Chalet L'Orbeye, in St Bon for Christmas. Our whole extended family drove from the UK to spend it together. We weren't disappointed. The chalet was easy to locate. Had parking for our three cars. The heated boot racks and ample space in the boot room were a huge plus point. As were the washing machine and drier! All the bedrooms were spacious and beautifully appointed. The views from the bedrooms and sitting room were absolutely stunning. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. We cooked for most of the week and had a 'big' Christmas dinner, everything we required was at hand. The location for the slopes is great. As we had heavy snow all week we used the bus instead of the cars. The bus stop is literally a two minute walk. Buses in the morning ran frequently, every 20 minutes.(They are only once an hour later in the day - a good idea to check times and enjoy another Vin Chaud rather than wait at the bus stop!). The bubble car that runs from Le Praz straight into Courchevel 1850 only takes minutes to get up the mountain. The snow this year is fantastic. We had the best skiing ever. I used New Generation ski school for some tailored lessons. They were excellent. The children went with ESF and enjoyed their lessons. The slopes were groomed to perfection. As you can tell we would strongly recommend the chalet. Julian was prompt to answer all our queries. He has managers at hand in the village if you require local assistance. We did have a small issue which needed to be addressed. Mark came straight round and dealt with the issue swiftly. I highly recommend staying at Chalet L'Orbeye. We can't wait to return.

Fantastic
The chalet is beautiful..the photos do not do it justice. We were 10 people and there was plenty of space for everyone. The heating was incredible..plenty of hot water, high quality furnishings and everything decorated beautifully. The bus stop is only a 5 min walk away but we chose to use our car. Parking is free in Le Praz. The little supermkt has everything you need. All in all a perfect place to stay.

Perfect
Beautiful chalet in a quiet location with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Short walk to the ski bus, hire shop and village store, which is really well stocked with local produce.
The chalet is very well equipped, lots of comfortable sitting space and a large eating area make it a welcoming place to relax in after a days skiing, Lots of snow this year meant that the run back to the village was open. Have stayed in the chalet a few times now and it just seems to get better each time.

Another great skiing holiday
Fantastic accommodation, always lovely and warm when we returned from the slopes following a great days skiing. As usual the chalet was fitted out to an excellent standard with everything needed for a self catering holiday. The local ski shop in St. Bon was very helpful when hiring my ski boots. Hopefully next year I will be able to ski down to St Bon like my fellow holiday makers did this year.

A fantastic chalet in an amazing location.
We felt the accommodation to be of a very high standard and fantastic value. The views were stunning and access to local amenities was very good. It was great to be able to ski back to the chalet at the end of the day. A brilliant week. Thank you.

Beautiful views, clean & tidy with all mod-cons and well maintained. Nicely situated in the village.Good facilities within the chalet including boot room with heated boot racks & ski storage. Easy short walk (approx 200m) from regular free bus route up to the Courchavel ski lifts.Close to amenities incl village shop and ski hire shop 5 mins walk away.

Excellent Chalet, very well equipped, great views!
Awesome. Fantastic accommodation, set in the pretty village of St. Bon. In easy reach of Le Praz, but as we had a car we found that the best option was to drive to Courchevel 1650. We were late in the ski season so Le Paz was a little diffificult to return to. At Courchevel you can park directly under the gondola station, which although a little pricey was by far the easiest option. With the car Meribele is also a good option.
The Chalet was cozy with a log burning stove and excellent Wi-Fi . There was also an excellent selection of books and games to entertain us. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped including a stone raclette set which we all enjoyed using .
Car parking was excellent with space for at least two cars. The ski locker in the boot room was within easy reach of the car and the heated boot racks were considerably appreciated .
Bedrooms and bathrooms were well appointed and of good size and there was plenty of hot water.
All in all an excellent base for a fantastic holiday!

Our second stay at this wonderful chalet
This was our second time in this beautiful chalet. The ambiance and facilities suit us so well. The position of the chalet is ideal, the free ski bus up to La Praz and Courchevel is easily accessed and runs late into the evening to allow great apres ski and meals out! The village of St Bon is very pretty and the ski hire shop run by Fred is great, open 8 til 8! The shop next door is really well stocked and offers fondue meals although we didn't use this. We used the Black Pearl pizza restaurant who were great and allowed us to take a gluten free base for one of our party!
We will definitely book the chalet again!

Amazing Stay in Chalet L'Orbeye
Fabulous house in wonderful location. Julian couldn't have been more helpful or accommodating.
Very quick to respond to any query we had.
House itself was very spacious. Cooking facilities were perfect. Located within 2 min walk of the free ski bus up to La Praz (and other towns).
Ski Shop and local supermarket within 5-7 min walk also.
Saint Bon itself is very quiet. All night life is in La Praz and other Courchevel towns. But bus runs until circa 2am, so no problem in finding your way home.
