We were so impressed how clean everything was when we arrived. It’s the perfect set up for 4 couples as we each had our own bathroom. If we needed anything Heidi was right there with what we needed. She also left us a welcome basket of baking and fruit and shared her neighbours excess corn and fruit plus allowed us to help ourselves to anything that was ripe in the garden. She was an excellent hostess. We loved our time there.

Beautiful property - peaceful, expansive, inviting. Felt like we were out in our own world and yet good access to towns and activities. The en suite bathrooms for each of the 4 bedrooms was a great feature! What made it most exceptional - Heidi!! Spectacular attentive host who provided enriching activities for the kids and responded to any questions/needs from adults. Kind, engaging, generous. Only disappointment was the awkward kayak access to dock/water. Beautiful setting though

This house was a great, relaxing vacation spot for my family. We enjoyed hanging around on the back porch and taking walks through the meadow and forest out to the dock. Close to Chemainus for groceries and local shops.
The host is friendly and informative, left us goodies upon arrival, and even helped us paint and decorate a fairy house to leave along the forest path.

Magical spot for my family in Chemainus! Wildlife everywhere! My family all had private sleeping and bathroom areas with a common great room which was a perfect set up. The property has it all - old growth forest, meadow, estuary, bluff with endless views, and a boat dock. My 3 year old grandson loved the fairy houses hidden along the trail - I think we found them all!
Our hostess Heidi, was so welcoming and kind leaving us some breakfast treats at check-in and bringing an adorable stuffie horse for my grandson. She also brought him a tricycle to tool around the large driveway.
Check/In/Out was a breeze as well. Can’t say enough about this fabulous place and the memories made.

Our family loved our 4 night stay at your spacious guesthouse. Each bedroom has its own bath with shower. The large kitchen is very well equipped, and the breakfast treats were greatly enjoyed! The walk down to the ocean, about 600 meters, goes through a stand of huge old fir and cedar, then a meadow with a frog pond, then a typical West Coast forest. A nearby bluff has a panoramic view of the islands off Chemainus. We thoroughly enjoyed the three kayaks. If you’re looking for seclusion and beautiful nature, this home will not disappoint!

We all had a very nice time on the property. We enjoyed the trails, the kayaks, nature, and even visiting with the horses. The space of the house was also very convenient for our group and we especially enjoyed the large kitchen for when we wanted to cook dinner. Heidi was a great host and was in easy contact if we needed anything. Also the tip to go to the Duncan farmer's market was definitely enjoyed by all. Overall A+ experience and would definitely visit again!

The property was perfect for our needs (3 couples, one with an infant). Four private bedrooms, each with its own ensuite was ideal.
The central kitchen was well stocked and spacious.
Our host was very accommodating.
One area for improvement would be the addition of blackout curtains for the bedrooms.

Heidi and her property are both magical. Thank you Heidi! We will be back.

I hosted a retreat here with 7 people staying and sharing the beautiful living space. The land brings so much to the experience, the movement space is so functional and Heidi is the perfect host. Gorgeous meadows, forests and being able to spend time at the ocean and with the horses is incredible. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to host a retreat in a quiet, beautiful space.

This wonderful place in Chemainus was a getaway with all the comforts of home. We enjoyed waking up to horses in the field, hiked the trails, and kayaked in the ocean. The home was spacious and clean. We traveled all the way from Hawaii and had a nice, relaxing vacation. Heidi was incredibly helpful and her special touches made our stay extremely memorable!!

The farm-style guesthouse was perfect for our needs, and we enjoyed wandering the extensive grounds. Nice country setting while conveniently close to town.

A wonderful house on a fabulous property- the family had an amazing time kayaking on the sound, feeding apples to the horses and exploring the woods. Very comfortable with everything you need. Heidi is lovely host and provided us with breakfast goodies and home grown plums, apples and vegetables. Also a great source of what’s available to do and see. The town of Chemainus has some good bakeries and cafes, cute little parks and some wonderful murals. Nice base town for exploring the south part of Vancouver Island. Looking forward to returning.

Fabulous stay in quiet pastoral setting! We will return.

Our stays have always been a wonderful mix of tranquil peace and reading in the shade of the porch, combined with energetic outings (swimming, canoeing, kayaking, pickleball, fishing, walks, biking, etc). One of our sons found it a great place to prepare for his next triathlon. Great to re-connect as a family in such a spacious place. Francie and Kaydee are regular "visitors" to the guest house grounds, and we discovered that Francie likes to have her tummy rubbed! Our host Heidi is great at communicating and always gives us a warm welcome. We are very much looking forward already to our next (4th!) stay.

We loved this place! The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 2 children. Each bedroom was equally comfortable--having a private bath for each bedroom was great! The kitchen was well-stocked with the basics and more.
The best part of it was Heidi, the property manager. She lives next door and responded to every message immediately. She was so thoughtful about what we might enjoy. She arranged for the kids to brush the horses and take a ride into town in a horse-drawn carriage, which was fun for the adults, too! Our 6-year-old girl was captivated by the fairy houses, so Heidi brought over a beautiful box of materials that we used to build a fairy house.
The property is beautiful. There is a big meadow and beautiful woods, and a lovely shoreline. The tide goes out a long way, so pay attention to tides if you want to go to the water.

The home was ideal for our family of 8 with everything you could wish for and more. Heidi was most helpful, accommodating the early arrival of some of us and bringing breakfast goodies. She let us know about tides and local events.
The walk to the dock took our family about 15 minutes through beautiful but steep forest, not ideal for older folks.

We enjoyed our family Christmas here. Our second visit to this property and it worked our perfect for a much needed reunion with family. Heidi is very accommodating and adds personal touches such as baked goods, breakfast items, fresh coffee beans. Lots of room for all of us to enjoy the space. Feels like home.

The host, Heidi, made our trip to the Island a wonderful time. The home was beautiful and inviting and worked perfectly for us. We cannot say enough good things about this stay.

We were warmly welcomed by Heidi shortly after we arrived. If we needed help with anything, we would have felt no hesitation to contact her, but everything was as close to perfect as can be. The property itself was amazing, with its walks through the forest down to the water, the animals on the farm, and the house we stayed in. There was plenty room for the seven of us and a kitchen that worked with several cooks as we celebrated an early Christmas feast! Heidi was so kind to allow the two children we had along to help groom the horses, feed them treats and walk them. They absolutely loved those horses! This is a great property for a family get-together. The house is plenty big, the walking paths through the forest and water kept everyone busy. And we were close to Chemainus & Duncan so easy to run out and pick up groceries we forgot to bring. Awesome!!

This is the perfect home for families or lady’s getaway, the property is vast and peaceful. I love to cook so appreciate a well equipped kitchen with lots of space for everyone to hang out without getting in each others way.
Heidi has always been accommodating and makes our stay enjoyable with her treats and beautiful flowers upon our arrival!

What a fabulous property and house. This was the perfect location for our mini family reunion. Four bedrooms with their own bathrooms! No sharing bathrooms for the sisters. 😀 I will definitely book again next year. This spot is perfect for a yoga retreat or writing workshop or girls' weekend. Thank you Heidi for being such a gracious host

Really enjoyed our stay (me and my spouse). It was a huge place to rent for just the two of us. But it was the best place available and I'm happy we stayed here. The highlight for me was the private hike to the ocean and boat ramp. It is about a 1/2 mile each way and goes through several different types of wilderness. It is a nicely made and maintained hiking trail like you would see in a park. Unlimited delicious blackberries to munch on. Really nice! The house is basically a central kitchen and living room with four bedrooms, each with their own full bathroom. The downstairs is a huge open room and there is an additional half bath down there. Downstairs there is a back porch (grill and outdoor furniture) and a side area with a picnic table and water feature. Host is very friendly. It is a working farm with horses, sheep and goats (probably more animals -- I didn't really look around too much). It was pricey for a couple, but I enjoyed the stay. Chemainus is a cute little town. This house is very close to town. 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive.

This property was absolutely amazing. It is so rare to find a home with 4 ensuite. The extra bonus room in the basement meant an additional friend was able to enjoy our retreat. The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for the 6 of us to be together inside but also many options for outdoor seating and playing summer games.
Heidi was an amazing host, she was extremely helpful in answering any and all of our questions. The welcome basket of food and goodies was above and beyond anything I had seen at other rentals. I would definitely recommend this home for a retreat type vacation. There isn’t a wide selection of activities or eating establishments in Chemanius but there is a nice golf course , kayaks on the property and very friendly horses. I would definitely recommend this property to others

Our family booked this beautiful house to attend a wedding nearby. It was very well laid out and had everything we needed. The view from the bluffs a short walk through the property were amazing. There were 2 horses on the property, sheep next door and deer at night that the grandkids loved to see. Our family living nearby came for a visit and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. The host Heidi left some baked goods as well as breakfast items for us to enjoy and was on hand if we needed anything. We highly recommend staying here and will return!

The accommodation is very comfortable - spacious, bright and airy. Heidi welcomed us with local dairy products, delicious bakery treats, eggs and fruit - a delightful gift. We spent a week at the property, attending family wedding events, touring the island, and treating our grand niece to a delightful afternoon on the farm, searching for fairy houses and trolls, feeding the horses, and playing badminton . We utilized the kitchen daily for breakfasts and many evenings for dinner. Wifi access was good. An exceptional and well managed property. Thank you Heidi.

This was our second time staying here after a wonderful time last summer. As usual, Heidi was amazing! So attentive and sweet with the kids. They loved learning about and walking the horses. We enjoyed the five mins drive to the lake and golf course. Nice and quiet lake (no motor boats allowed) for swimming, paddle boarding and kayaking. We will be back again next summer 💜

Farmily Family Vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed the Farmily Retreat. My husband and myself, my daughter, and my son and his wife had ample room to spread out and loved the ensuite bathrooms. The kitchen was well appointed and furnished and it was where our gracious hostess, Heidi, left us provisions for our first breakfast. The property was an amazing opportunity to enjoy nature in what felt like your own National Park where we had access to kayaks to make use of the high tides and many walking trails in the surrounding 40 acres.
We also enjoyed making friends with Heidi's horses, Sadie and Francie (Francie loves getting her belly scratched!).
This property is well located and has a host that is very accessible, helpful, and wonderfully gracious. We would love to come back again. Thank you, Heidi!

Sewing Get-a-Away
What a lovely, peaceful location. The upstairs was perfect for sleeping and dining while the downstairs had a huge room for our sewing supplies. I would stay there again but bring a free standing lamp for more light. The walk to the water is so beautiful and is best with closed toed shoes as it is through the forest for about 15 minutes.
