The staff at this boutique hotel are wonderful. Within minutes of my arrival I was on a first name basis with everyone. Rahab did a great job ensuring that I had a pleasant stay. Everyone working at the Birds of Paradise was committed to ensuring that their guests were comfortable and have enjoyable stays. The property and rooms are very well kept. There are lots of plants and this creates a very peaceful and restful atmosphere. The property is a short walk from Njiro road and the Njiro Complex. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with a nice mix of people. There were no problems with Wifi and delicious home-cooked meals are available by request.

WiFi, hot water, calmness, room decor.
Food is abit pricy for locals this makes you uncomfortable to stay longer.

The staff Rahab, Daniel and Octavian were so nice and helpful!

When I arrived at the gate I was told it’s fully booked, no rooms available, even though I had the confirmation of my booking.

The staff is very friendly and the rooms are big and the bed is really comfortable. Also the terrace is nice for sitting and drinking a beer. The breakfast is also really good, for us it was actually a bit too much.
We only could pay in cash, maybe it would be easier to pay by card in the future.

Fantastic interior finish. Cheap fir the quality.
Very isolated and quiet place. 💯 privacy.
Fast internet by all Tanzania standard.
3 Very friendly staff.
I will definitely be back.
Own lunch and dinner arrangements, a good breakfast is provided though.
No TV, a good WiFi offsets this. Used Azam TV Max App seamlessly.

Unbeatable price and high room quality. Very in private. Feel like a home. After a long flight before and after Safari, this hotel is really good.I saw some monkeys on the roof of the next property :-) . Outside the room has a big space for sitting and relai. To reach and explore the Arusha city by taxi or local bus Daladala ( if you need new experience, bring a person from Bird of paradise with you). Internet access is free. Hotel staffs are friendly and helpful

Room was very spacious and clean. Property was quiet and peaceful. Staff were overall nice/cordial.
Breakfast could have been coordinated better. One night I requested to the night keeper that I would like breakfast at 9:00am the next morning, but when I went to the dining room around 9:10am, the message had clearly not been passed to the morning staff member and I wasn't able to eat breakfast before leaving for my day trip. Also, I had texted the property manager asking for support with getting a driver back to the property one night, but my message was not responded to. Thankfully I had the number of another driver.
The property as many have said is a little outside of the center of town (maybe 15-20 mins), but as long as you have a driver you can get around everywhere fine. The road leading to the property is quite poor, but this is not uncommon from what I observed. Though there were a couple of bouts with poor/no internet, I was pleasantly surprised that the internet worked most of the time (contrary to the experiences of previous guests).

Our third time here - still amazing value, clean and huge rooms.
No working wifi, no fridge or kettle in the room as advertised.

This is my go to place to stay whenever I’m in Arusha. Facilities are super clean and new and the location is in an alley so it’s peaceful, but not too far of a walk to the main road to get restaurant meals if you want (tip: my favorite nearby spot is The Oak which is a 15 minutes walk; they also do delivery).
Breakfast is about $5 and is pretty decent; you get the standard sponge omelette, some starchy side like chapati or crepes, and fresh fruits. They also provide quick and convenient laundry onsite (machine washed) for about $5-$10 which was a lifesaver after my Kilimanjaro trek.
There was a half-day long electrical outage in the entire neighborhood when I was there. It was for maintenance and i am not sure if that’s a frequent thing that happens. Water pressure is very weak in the shower. And water was unexpectedly shut off for a few hours in one of the nights I was there.

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and such good value for money. We didn't eat breakfast as chose to eat out, but there was free tea and coffee and a fridge for you to store your own food. The staff were all lovely and very welcoming - especially Daniel the security. Walking distance to Njero complex for restaurants. Asante sana!
Nothing :)

I had a great stay here. This lodge is about 10 minutes from the center of Arusha, located in an alley, which I initially thought would be a problem, but it probably was better than staying in the center for the quiet and peace alone. The facilities are fairly new, almost everything looked like it was constructed in the recent years. Hot water came out instantly. Bedding and mosquito netting were immaculately clean, and very grand and luxurious. The owner arranged all my transportation for reasonable fees and responded promptly via Whatsapp: I had 2 pickups, one from the airport and another from a local bus stop, and he arrived both times quite early and professionally, not by "Swahili time". He also called local motorcycle drivers to drive me to get food for a very small fee (there is great local/non touristy dining at a nearby plaza only 5 minutes away).
It's a very safe area and as a solo female traveler I always felt secure and didn't bother even locking my door when I left for day tours. Speaking of the door, it ended being somewhat of a nuisance. The hinge often got stuck and it took like 2-3 minutes each time to open. But it ultimately wasn't a big deal. Everything else was smooth and relaxing. Breakfast was fresh and they cook specific portions for you based on the time you wake up. It definitely surpassed my expectations since most bed and breakfast places have a standard spread of food prepared at once for everyone, which gets cold if you wake up hours after they cooked it. I would recommend this lodge to everyone. It's a hidden gem.
As mentioned above, getting the door to open and close was annoying at times.

It's exquisite and comfortable.

The rooms look exactly as on the pictures. We are backpackers and most of the time stay at hostels, from time to time we give us a treat and that place fulfilled it 100%. If you want to have a complete quiet environment and a perfectly clean place, this is where you have to go. The room is beautifully decorated in a minimalistic and modern way, the bed is the most comfortable bed and the bathroom turned out so nice with the big window and the little bamboo garden outside, genius idea! The breakfast was perfect and once again I have to mention how clean it is!!! Big garden all around, very green, full of flowers, just beautiful and perfect to relax. In the common area you can use the fridge, tea boiler and there a tables to work during the day. For us, everything is perfect! Also the breakfast was just nice, toast, omelette, fruits, peanutbutter was a big plus, jams, teas, coffee, pancake..
Wifi is in whole of Tanzania a problem and also this place has very slow wifi, be aware of that if you dont have a sim card, we have one so it wasnt a problem at all.
I would love to see a Water Station, since this place is using solar and taking care of environment, also it allows the guests to not have stress in the mind to get enough water. (The cleaning lady though offered to get some, which was so sweet)
It is out of the town, for us its perfect because we also work and its so quiet here, we use Bolt as a Taxi App and it works fine. 20 min to be in the centre...it might be for some people a negative point, but for us it was not :)

I really appreciated that the daily breakfast was filled with fresh fruits and breakfast at the same time at my request.I.
I would of liked a list of restaurants menus or access online etc. Where I could of ordered food for lunch or dinner, if necessary.
