Great location for our family and kids. It was a short walk to the beach, which was nice for the kids and hauling all the stuff back and forth.
The place in general is nice, but is was not clean upon arrival. We found several areas of the space dirty, sheets needed to be washed, and several alive and dead cockroaches.

Clean place. Quiet neighborhood. Nice pool. Surrounding area still has long ways to go from the hurricane damage but there are plenty of places open and lots of activities in the area

Loved the location. But it wasn't clean upon our arrival. We washed all of the dishes before using them as many of them appeared sticky. Also, the gas grill was terribly filthy - I had to give it a deep cleaning before using it. I wasn't expecting that. The property has significant deferred maintenance. Still, we had a great time and the lay-out of the property is very functional.

We spent two months at the Beach Barn over December and January. The location is amazing. Being able to walk across Estero Blvd to a beach entrance is fantastic. We could not only take our kayak to the beach, but we could wheel it around the corner to the public ramp access to the bay on Coconut Street. My husband took his small sailboat out on the ocean many an afternoon as well. I probably walked on the beach in the morning six days a week and we enjoyed countless sunsets right across from the house. The owners provided a range of beach chairs, floats, and an umbrella. There were loads of kids' beach toys as well which we didn't take advantage of.
We were within walking distance of the Publix and we could walk to four or five restaurants (three under 3/4 of a mile). The traffic could get ugly but you can plan accordingly and avoid the worst of it. We also brought bikes which is another good option.
The restaurant scene in Fort Myers Beach is nothing special but the house has everything you need. We used the grill regularly. Once we sorted through all the pots and pans, we got into a groove. cooking regularly.
The house itself has four bedrooms and the beds are all comfortable from all reports. The lanai is key - it was a great place to have dinner or to just lounge in the sun when it was a little cooler out. I would say the house could use a little love - a fresh coat of paint would do a world of good. It has great bones but for the price, I would have liked to have seen some improvements. This is just my opinion, but it is time to update the tile along with the fresh coat of paint.
The pool is heated and nice. There are a couple of very comfortable chairs out by the pool. There was regular pool service. Everything is very much as pictured.
We ran into some issues (including little ants getting into our food) BUT the management service was ON THE BALL. We had an exterminator out the next morning and the ants were never seen again. We had other minor issues with fire alarms, tv remotes, the heat, etc. But, in all instances, the management company was all over it and got things addressed quickly and efficiently.
It was a great place to stay warm.

We absolutely loved this house for our 1.5 month stay. We had two couples, two children, and one nanny and were very comfortable. It is truly steps away from beach access - and steps away from good dock fishing on the bay side. The pool area is amazing.
Five stars. We’ll be back.
