Family of 5 adults normally presents a challenge to accommodate comfortably for a holiday, but not in this case. Prospect Cottage is a lovely family home packed with all the amenities that a family needs. Only a few minutes walk away from the magical Mevagissey harbour and an array of bars, cafes and chip shops! We had a magnificent stay and would recommend to anyone.

Great location, stroll straight down to the harbour
Property perfectly set up with a bedroom/shower downstairs and 2 beds with a bath upstairs and lounge/kitchen inbetween
Can park outside to unload. Would avoid the car space and just use the car park. £48 for the week and a couple of mins walk from the property, super easy
Highly recommend this property, we loved our stay.

Best house in Meva! Lovely old cottage in the heart of town. We had a big car so couldn’t use the parking space but found parking just up the road, maybe 5 minutes walk, easy. Great views over the village, didn’t want to leave☺️

We stayed a week at this lovely cottage in Mevagissey. The house is very comfortable and we loved the furniture and decor. We were 2 couples, but it would also be great for family vacations. The kitchen was well-equipped; we usually did breakfast and dinner at the house. It’s a short walk into central Mevagissey, although be aware that it is on a hill. We didn’t have a car, but there are 2 bus stops near the house and we were able to get everywhere we wanted to go using public transportation. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Prospect Cottage- highly recommend.

This property is in an excellent position in Mevagissey with wonderful views over the rooftops to the harbour & sea beyond from all the rooms. Very comfortable with everything you need. Finding the property & unloading right outside was so easy but the parking space provided was an absolute concern daily.....trying to avoid damage to tyres on the raised base of the barrier posts in a very tight area was not easy & we only had a small car. Provision of a parking permit in the main carpark would really be a godsend for guests. THE HOUSE IS SUPERB SO JUST MAKE OTHER PARKING PLANS!

My wife and I are very experienced self catering renters and have a good basis for comparisons and we can, and have to one another, state that this is one of our top three stays, in terms of quality of the property, location, service, cleanliness and all other aspects of using a vacation rental. Our only regret is that with our present 16 day visit to the U.K. (yes, we are Americans) that we didn't spend more of it in this property in Mevagissey. My wife would have been very happy to have spent the entire visit there, but it is a bit of drive from there to Heathrow for a noon departure back to the U.S. We will certainly be booking again. On another note, every single townspeople we met did not treat as merely a tourist and a possible source of revenue, but opened right up and spoke of their lives in Cornwall, good and bad and treated us as if we were known acquaintances. Five stars to Tamsin and her family and thanks for sending the caretaker over to help us sort out the operation of the heater (I was trying to overthink it!).
My sole cautionary note is that for elderly folks who want to get out and walk, virtually any walking not directly on the harbor is a bit of up and down hills - on the other hand, in most cases, it's good for us! See you again!

We had a wonderful time in Prospect cottage, everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Absolutely loved the property and a potter delight to stay there. Would go again without question and Mevagissey is a super place to visit. I would recommend this property to anyone and we're so grateful to the hosts for allowing us to 'borrow' for a little while. Also must say thank you to the cleaner who keeps it all so nice.
Can't wait to go again, thank you x

We spent a wonderful few days at this lovely cottage. The house is cosy but there was lots of space for our family of four and two dogs. The house is beautifully decorated as well as being really well equipped. We loved sitting in the sun room and the window seats watching the world go by and looking out to sea. The location is perfect as it’s only a few minutes walk from the centre of the town and all the restaurants and shops.

This is the third time I have spent at this wonderful property. It is located right in Mevagissey, a short stroll to the harbour and the coastal path. Already planning my return!

Our first time at Mevagissey. What a beautiful place to be. The cottage is gorgeous, there is absolutely everything there you could ever want. Thank you Tamsin and Katie for making our stay so enjoyable ❤️ the dogs loved the beach walks too. Lovely little shops all around the village and everyone is so friendly. Would thoroughly recommend and we cant wait to come back again xx

From first booking through to sadly vacating, our stay was quite frankly wonderful. Excellent communication, property just as described, its lovely, full of character and with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Ideally located close to the centre and the harbour. Lots of information to refer to. We will be back. Simply loved it. Thank you.

The house was perfect for the two of us but would also suit two couples well. We slept in one of the upstairs bedrooms and kept most of our clothing in the bedroom on the bottom floor. It worked out well because the washing machine was right next door. I used the bathroom on the upper floor, and my husband used the one on the lower floor. The middle floor had a nice lounge with tv and a great kitchen that was very well equipped. The location was perfect for us with the back entrance leading to the village center. I would heartily recommend Prospect Cottage to anyone visiting Mevagissey!

This was one of the best holidays we have ever had.
Perfect for older children too who could visit the shops and cafes on their own, just a couple of minutes walk away.
We would very much like to return one day while we are still young enough to manage all the steep roads and steps around Mevagissey!

Lovely character cottage. Stayed one week with Husband 2 adult children and my elderly parents. (so 6 in total) Plenty of space for all of us) The downstairs bedroom and bathroom worked well for my parents. (down some stairs from the main living and kitchen area)
The house has a well equipped kitchen. The small sun room overlooking the harbour and the main street is a great spot for watching the world go by. Great location in the town with steps down to the man square from the back of the house. Really enjoyed our relaxing week. Visited Lost Gardens of Heligan and Eden project

Prospect Cottage is a real gem - just as listed. The cottage is the perfect size for 4-6 people, is beautifully decorated and well appointed. The views over Mevagissey are stunning. Tamsin was a great host, responding quickly and politely to all our questions. The Mevagissey area has plenty to offer for a multi-day visit. We stayed for four days and had no trouble filling out time with great outings. On the contrary, we didn't have time to see all we wanted. The Salt Path hiking to both the north and south is terrific. Black Head, Dodman Point and Hemmick Beach were highlights.

We had a wonderful time staying here. The views were second to none, from morning sunrises to seeing the twinkling harbour at night. All rooms have a wonderful view, the photos don't do it justice. Shops and restaurants and harbourside all within a few mins walk. The property itself is extremely well furnished with all the kitchen utensils you will ever need. Kids loved going mackerel fishing with Aquila and visiting local beaches. Teacup tearoom was also a wonderful experience. Thoroughly recommend.

Our second stay in Prospect cottage and a 3rd being booked. That says enough of how we enjoy staying in this lovely cottage in beautiful Mevagissey. Home from home comforts and everything you could possibly need. Amazing sea views from almost every window and a lovely cosy wood burner for those chilly evenings. Loved days out, mooching the shops and walking round the harbour, buying fresh fish for our dinner as well as eating in a few establishments.
I could stay forever!
Roll on our 3rd visit next year. I may even try and squeeze a long weekend in at the end of the year!!!
Thanks again Tamsin and family

The cottage is well appointed and great position. Comfortable beds, Fantastic shower, log fire made for cosy winter evenings. We really enjoyed our stay, and so did our little Yorkshire terriers. There was a safe enclosed garden for your dogs.

Great cottage with all the practical things a family might need for a comfortable stay. The cottage has a wonderful feel of being lovingly restored and maintained. Parking and car access was trick but that was a common challenge in a heritage village.

I love Mevagissey and have stayed in a few locations around the town but this is my favourite so far. In fact we have even booked again! Well maintained, clean and comfortable. A great location, just minutes from the shops, pubs and harbour. We can't wait to go back!

Great location right in the middle of town a bit far to walk for parking but there is a parking space available for a I'll say a small family car.

From the moment that we entered Tamsin's home we were blown away. It has been beautifully renovated and retains much of its original classic charm. The view from every window is spectacular, overlooking the entire village an out to the sea. It has very easy access from the back straight into the main shopping area and the sea port. We loved our stay here in Mevagissey and would come back again. It truely was a pleasure to stay here.
