We hadden volledige privacy.

Stunning property with incredible views and amenities. The staff is wonderful and attentive and the food was amazing!

Localização e envolvente muito bonita. Silêncio da zona e dos quartos. Muito bom pequeno almoço. A refeição foi muito boa.
Nada a salientar.

The experience was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with breakfast cooked to order. The rooms have amazing views. Would definitely stay again.
The setting is amazing but there is a very steep road up to the property and the parking is tricky. The rooms are scattered around the property so you are walking up and down steps to get around.

Truly cannot recommend this hotel more. The location, the property, the restaurant, the staff are literally all amazing. We had the most amazing meals at their restaurant, including the best homemade bread I’ve ever had in my life. Hopefully we will be back one day, 10/10 for sure!

Spectacular location, lovely staff, great room, proximity to beach and hiking
Road getting up to property was intimidating but I got used to it

This felt like a resort. Everything you need is on property. There is a pool to relax, plenty of amazing food, and the staff was beyond helpful and kind. The property itself is gorgeous, overlooking the coast. Our rooms were clean and nicely decorated. We will come back to Madeira to stay at this location.
Nothing!

We stayed two nights but it was worth every penny. Having diner at the restaurant in the evening is just perfect and the staff of is very friendly from the reception to the waiter.

Patel is sitting in the morning send beautiful location is incredible views and feels very private with simple but elegant court and amenities. The chef’s dinners were absolutely incredible!
Value was fantastic!
There were a lot of stairs to climb but it allowed privacy of accommodation.
5.0
Very good breakfast.
Usually three choices for dinner: Meat, Fish & Vege (home grown products).
The rooms with according view are cozy & the view is great!
It's hard to walk around. The streets are very steep.
The road to your room requires a lot of stairs as well.
If you've got mobility issues, this might be a concern.

Wonderful place surrounded by nature, vineyards and banana trees. The 180° see view from the room was awesome, as well the one from the restaurant. Great breakfast. Highly recommended.
4.5
Polite and friendly staff, gorgeous room, beautiful views, private patio, large comfy bed, amazing breakfast, beautiful terraces with lounge chairs and snack menu, chef's dinner at hotel's own restaurant. Caring in every respect and attention to detail. Emphasis on sustainability and eco-friendliness.
The chef's tasting dinner was bit pricey, especially the wines, making it difficult to repeat the experience. Approach to hotel premises by car onto steep hill by narrow road was not for the faint hearted, but that's just a minus that comes with the local terrain.
5.0
Amazing breakfast which included fresh sourdough bread made by the chef and eggs to order. I also really enjoyed the herbal tea with herbs picked from the garden. My favourite spot was the window alcove from which you can admire the incredible view. The bed was also super comfortable. Rooms were very private and quiet. The staff was also very accommodating of my vegan partner.
Not a bad thing per se, but the parking can be a little tricky if you are not a confident parker and don't like driving on steep roads. We never ran into any issues, but it's worth to be prepared.
4.5
Lovely quiet location. Excellent food. Loved the way that there was no menu and the chef just prepared something different every day and used seasonal veg and herbs from the garden. It was always delicious! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was modern and stylish.
As much as we liked the look of the poured concrete floors everywhere, we found that they were slippery, particularly in the shower when the floor was wet.

This place is amazing. Natural, simple and peaceful. Up away from everything in the steep, beautiful hills of Madeira, overlooking the sea and terraces.
We properly relaxed and were incredibly well taken care of by the attentive staff. Breakfast was a particular highlight (especially the fresh fruit and home-cooked bread). Dinner in the restaurant changed each day and we could choose meat, fish (or vegetable). The staff were happy to accept any requests to adjust it to your preferences. It felt so special to eat in the restaurant and know so much of it was home-grown and/or local produce, especially with the gorgeous views of the bay.
The emphasis on the environment and local produce was excellent. Sitting amongst the vineyards was a real treat!
Our room had sea views and was quiet, clean, spacious and with a great shower. The window seat overlooking the sea was my favourite spot to sit and watch Calheta below and the birds in the terraces.
We had such a lovely time and it's probably the best hotel I've ever stayed in. Thank you to the team for making us so welcome.
Nothing - but to flag this place has a lot of steps (up to rooms) and so isn't perhaps suitable for everyone. We didn't have a car so occasionally walked down the v steep hill to Calheta to the beach or for dinner. Coming back up us about 15 mins hard slog uphill! We never saw a taxi so was our only option but we didn't mind too much (but definitely not for everyone). Pool was very cold as unheated but we appreciated the fact it was more environmentally friendly so can't complain!

The property is very modern and everything in it are functioning very well. We had a beautiful view even from our room . Everyone of the staff are very helpful, welcoming and nice.
Uphill, a bit challenging to drive in my opinion although I wasn't the one driving.

Everything, the accommodation is of high quality comfort with the best views of Calheta - but above and beyond has to be the quality of the kitchen, it’s chefs and food, unbelievably delicious and value for money.
Definitely book breakfast and at least have one dinner, you’ll likely have dinner every evening.
I think there should be a shuttle service you can book.

Amazing luxury resort with wonderful staff.
We had breakfast and dinner there every day, it was a culinary experience each time. I would highly recommend this place for the foodies!
All rooms and villa have sea views, overlooking beautiful gardens. The design is so beautiful, crafted with local materials.
It is truly a place to relax and soak in the beautiful nature around.
leaving!

Staff were so friendly and helpful. The views were amazing from every angle of the grounds. Really great hotel breakfast. Really amazing restaurant food in the hotel. Loved the ethos of the hotel with all the fresh food being grown around the hotel being used in the restaurant.
Nothing, it was amazing. Will absolutely stay again. An iron and small ironing board in the room would have been helpful, although these were provided upon request. The pool is not heated and too cold to use in winter months. Having a slightly heated pool would have been great although undoubtedly it will be lovely to use in summer. It didn’t bother us as the views were stunning and we are relatively fit people but the hotel is set on the side of a steep cliff so may be difficult for less mobile people to get around property.

Meals were Excellent, cooked with fresh ingredients, and loves their sustainable mindset.
Room 6 gruta was something special- my son enjoyed sleeping in a cave !
The hotel was responsive pre and during stay.
Shower ran cold mid shower which was slightly uncomfortable at the time of the year we were there.

Beautiful hotel with lovely views and a great ethos. We loved the fresh food straight from the garden and relaxing by the dipping pool.
Our room could’ve been slightly warmer.

Amazing, just amazing. One of the best hotels my partner and I ever stayed. Just unbelievable view from the room. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The food in the restaurant is delicious. The breakfast is excellent.
The location have a lot of parking space in front of the property. Even though the property is on expensive end, it's definitely a must visit. You don't even need to go anywhere, you can just stay there an chill.

Everything was perfect. A lovely secluded hotel with the most wonderful staff. The (included) breakfast was incredible, as were the two meals we stayed for. Loved exploring the gardens and the kitchen!
Parking wasn't easy, especially at peak time. Nor was driving up the hill. But we managed it and I like to think we're stronger because of it!
Would have liked the room to have a few more hangers and hooks etc. so can unpack better.
4.5
it was so quiet and clean. Comfortable beds
I’d have liked a choice at breakfast. I don’t eat eggs but wasn’t offered an alternative

We simply loved everything, the hotel is perfect integrated on the nature and Madeira landscape. The hotel is located in a cliff with a perfect view of the mountains and the see. All the bungalows are perfectly equipped and have a beautiful view. The breakfast is just perfect, with all the ingredients from the gardens, homemade bread and jams, cakes and perfect omelette.
The dinner menu with 4 courses is a must, it is a surprise menu, always working accordingly availability of fresh ingredients, we stayed three nights in the hotel and we had dinner there three times. I highly recommend this hotel.
I have nothing to complain.
