Como en casa

La villa la lleva una familia encantadora, siempre pendientes de que nos sintiéramos como en casa. Uno de los días tuvimos que salir a las 5 de la mañana para ir a Sigiriya y no solo nos pusieron el desayuno para llevar (el cual es fantástico, y además, un desayuno local) sino que se levantaron para hacerlo al momento. No tienen servicio de comida tampoco en teoría, pero al estar en medio de la nada, preguntamos si era posible. Y así fue. De verdad, muy recomendado, una de las mejores estancias.

Beautiful location and wonderful host!

We loved staying here. We had dinner too which was delicious. Location is maybe a bit far out of the main town but we rented a tuk tuk so we’re great for access. Also if you had breakfast and dinner here too then getting to the town wouldn’t be a problem. Beautiful location and the balcony view is amazing.

A perfect place for a peacefull tranquility!

The place is incredible! In the middle of the nature you can see a lot if different animals (birds, leguans, fireflies etc.). The hosts are very nice and try to fulfill every wish you have. The room was excellent with a balcony and a view on a small river.

Would come back in a heartbeat

On our 300+km bike tour, we were looking for a reasonably priced but comfortable stay for just the night. And with Gal Oruwa Resort we had hit the jackpot! It's a beautiful little boutique resort located in a peaceful plot of land bordering a stream flowing off the Kandalama lake. The property is managed by a family of three living separately on premises, Mr Mahinda at the front, a gentleman by every sense. The land has been owned by the family for generations it seems, and is beautifully landscaped with plenty of trees, of which Mr Mahinda has a sound knowledge of. We were catered to most of our dietary needs with produce grown in their own garden (papaya juice, mango, and leaves for kola kenda)! The stay certainly exceeded my expectations and I would go back again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful, relaxing stay with the kindest host family

The best thing about Gal Oruwa Ressort was the hist family. They were really kind and we felt almost like home. The second best thing was the food. We ate delicious local currys and had tea and sweet snacks. The location is very special as the guest house is located in their big garden with lots of mango trees, a little river flowing by and monkeys in the trees. There are only 4 rooms, so it quite familiar. The room was very pretty and the balcony was a dream for relaxing in nature.

The only thing missing was wifi, but we did not check this before, so our fault. If you prefer a busy neighbourhood, this is not the place to come. For relaxation it is perfect.

A little resplendent gem in the biggest’s one!❤️

Honored to be the first guest of this resort and part of the very amazing, lovely and compassionate owners family. I reserved only 2 night at the beginning here and I didn’t see any reviews, I did the right thing following my sensations, I’m feeling like at home. The location, food, room are amazing and everything is perfect and possible. They can organise everything for your holiday, with the car or the tuk tuk you can go to visit all the attractions around this area because you are in the center of the island. This is a very little resplendent gem in the biggest’s one called Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Thanks to Mahinda and all your family for everything!
