We checked in easily and found everything in order and ready for our stay. It was nice to have the access to a living room and full kitchen. I did my laundry before we came back home so that was all done and ready to just put away. I will definitely stay again.

This house was spacious, clean and we'll maintained. Located in a quiet neighborhood central to everything. It offered peace and quiet with no other people coming and going or strange noises in the night. Our host was very helpful and attentive to any needs. Which we had none. Highly recommended for the price and convenience.

The property is an older home that has been minimally updated, and is rustic as the description said. I liked the old floors and the exposed wood under the plaster. My only wish is that the property had a parking space that is not on the street.

Horrible Mess!
Our original reservation was with the Rustic Roost for the fee of $65 per night. The host contacted us and said that there was a traveling nurse that was staying there long time. She offered us the Cottage by the College. We agreed, because she said it was the same price. After checking, we saw that the cottage by the college was listed at a cheaper price of $59 per night. We weren't refunded the difference.
The Cottage by the College ended up being a small shack or outbuilding behind the Rustic Roost. When we arrived with our family of five, there were only 3 towels and 2 washcloths. There was no soap or bathtub stopper. We didn't notice this until around bedtime. We contacted the host, and she dropped things off by the door after we went to bed. This was frustrating because the first night, we weren't able to bath.
Our entire experience was not pleasant or easy! I do not recommend this property!

A good deal
Very functional. Clean with the exception of area rugs. Would stay here again. Window ACs did adequate job. No curb appeal but only noteworthy because neighborhoods nearby full of beautiful old houses.

Cute vintage home
Needed a short layover for a long journey. This cute home in the historic district was great. Nice neighborhood for walks. Close to lots of local attractions.

Beware: bug infested property
My wife and I booked this property to break up our 14.5 hour drive from
Colorado to Texas. We arrived ready to rest after driving 9.5 hours. Unfortunately, as soon as my wife laid down a small flying bug flew and landed on her. At first I didn’t think much of it, until my wife noticed more of the same bug on the curtains. I then looked throughout both bedrooms and noticed LOTS of the exact same bug. We couldn’t stomach staying the night with the thought of them landing on us while we were sleeping. We also couldn’t identify what kind of bug it was, so we’d didn’t know if it presented any harm to us. I wasn’t going to make my pregnant wife sleep in a bug infested house. So, I immediately messaged the host, Merlina, to inform her that we would not be staying the night and requested a refund. She responded by saying that she and the maid had been there recently and had not seen any bugs and that there was no infestation. I replied by offering to send her multiple photos. It has been 2 days and she has still not replied. Ultimately, we were left with making a 14.5 drive and have yet to receive an apology, much less a refund. Please avoid the inevitable inconvenience that comes from booking this property.

Nice neighborhood
Home was comfortable and beds were great after a long day on the road. Check out time is listed as 11, but manager was pressuring us to leave at 10:30 (as we were packing up vehicle), housekeeping was parked outside staring at us and there was a man on a ladder working on the house as we came outside. Kind of an overall strange vibe.

Excellent Stopover
We stayed at this home on our way from Austin to Crested Butte. It was exactly what we needed to give our kids (1 & 4) a break in the long 16-hour drive. Not exactly a baby-friendly home as we had to rearrange a few breakable things to be out of reach, but it more than served its purpose for the one night we needed, and we were very warm and cozy on a cold winter night. We would stay again!

Would not recommend
I tried to call the owner multiple times but couldn’t get a hold of her. We couldn’t find the property because the address on the website was the wrong one. The neighborhood in which the house was supposed to be was not pleasant at all. So we ended up having to rent a different property. But once the owner finally did get back to me she did give me a refund after being on the phone for a long time so I appreciate that I got the refund.
