Our lodge is tucked away on a quiet road that follows the Sturgeon River and yet is also right in town. Walk or bike ½ mile into downtown Indian River to shop with Devoe Beach on Burt Lake, the Indian River, and bike / snowmobile trails less than a mile away. Enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or tubing down the Sturgeon River and Indian River. Fish for trout or walleye right in from the edge of the backyard. At the end of the day, enjoy sitting by the firepit.

Your group will sleep comfortably in 3 bedrooms with 2 containing queen beds and one containing both a queen and twin bed. Getting ready in the morning is easy with 2 bathrooms. In the evening, play games at the dinner table, watch a movie on 47” flat screen TV, or curl up in the loft to read a book or surf the web (free high speed WiFi). For mealtime, dine out, enjoy dinner in the backyard watching the wildlife and river, or dine inside using the fully equipped kitchen.
Our lodge sits back from the road with plenty of driveway for whatever toys you may bring with you.

My daughter’s wedding was in the area. After everything was done, we needed some rest! The cabin was in an excellent area, clean, well appointed and very comfortable. Hooks everywhere and plenty of storage. The fire pit beside the river was amazing. We will be staying again.

We spent a week in this beautiful log cabin for a family vacation. The accommodations were clean, organized, and well cared for. It was a great location to tube down the Sturgeon river and hop out right in "our" backyard. The backyard set up was great for dinner or
relaxing by the firepit. Super close to Burt Lake beaches and the ORV trailhead. Its a great place to make memories! Thank you!

Since our first year at Lazy Sturgeon in 2020 and this last one in 2024, we are always awestruck by how clean and roomy it is.And it is so cozy and comfortable—we relax as soon as we come through the door. Our daughter and son-in-law and our two grandchildren (ages 6 and 17 months) come with us on our annual trip to Indian River, and we never feel cramped—so much room! We all highly recommend this cabin.

I could not rave about our stay more! The instant we walked in we felt at home. Not only is the property amazing, in a perfect location but the hosts are incredible! They thought of everything. If I could have stayed all summer I would have! We had an 8 hour drive up to the cabin and we complained about the drive the whole way saying we would never make a drive like that again… but after staying at the cabin the drive didn’t seem like a big deal and we would happily do it again for the serene, tranquil experience we had there!

The cabin is a perfect, easy to access location right on the Sturgeon River that provided a beautiful backdrop during the winter.
Curt was a helpful host with great communication and was very accommodating. I will definitely keep this cabin in mind for future snowmobiling trips since it was the perfect size for a smaller group and very close to the trails!

Lack of snow didn’t ruin our short getaway. The cabin was clean and cozy with enough room for our group. The background is lovely with the river flowing by. Very peaceful, but close to everything. Will definitely stay there again!

Listing was accurate. Plenty of room for us two but can easily accommodate 6-7 adults with no problem. Adequate space but still a cozy, warm feel. Near the end of the dead-end means no traffic. Walking distance to grocery and other amenities. Super clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Nice to have some access to the garage space.

Loved this cabin located on the Sturgeon River and tucked away from the center of town. Hosts had the property in immaculate and clean condition. Loved the little extras like the note that was left, and the bag of chocolate covered cherries and a few incidentals like mustard, mayo, ketchup and other pantry items. Great place to stay!!

The cabin was perfect for my family of teens plus adults. The beds and linens were super comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with necessities and the place was clean and well kept. Check in was easy and the host is really responsive if needed. The location was very central, about 30 minutes to Lake Mi to hunt for Petoskey stones and 30 minutes to Lake Huron and many state parks in between. We didn’t get to enjoy the sturgeon River but we plan to next time we visit. We saw families tubing down it and it looked like a blast. In town I highly recommend Christopher’s Cafe for delicious breakfast, the biscuits and gravy there are great! We’re definitely hoping to return someday.

We enjoyed our stay at Indian River cabin on the Sturgeon River. The cabin was very clean , roomy, with comfortable seating inside and outside by the fire pit. We loved all the art work displayed in every room. We even saw a deer in the front yard of another cabin. Very close to town but still felt secluded as we enjoyed a very warm late October weekend with beautiful fall colors. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.
