Suite Thyme is so much better than we expected. We frequently rent vacation homes and this one is simply the cleanest, most well stocked place we have ever rented. We especially enjoyed our visit with Marilyn, the owner. She gave so much care to making sure we felt welcome. The location can't be beat for wonderful views and in close proximity to so many places to explore....lighthouses, historic downtown shopping areas and fishing villages. We would definitely rent Suite Thyme again.

Expectations exceeded
Thankfully, great memories are priceless and require no space in a suitcase because we took many home. The location of this home is nothing short of fantastic with a great view of the ocean. Whether you choose to sit on your balcony, the Adirondack chairs perfectly positioned on the lawn looking out at the horizon, or on the nearby rocks with ocean waves gently lapping at your feet. We were first-timers, soon-to-be second timers!

Wonderful Location!
I've taken several vacations along the coast of Maine and so far this area is my favorite. The location of the carriage house is perfect with the rocky shoreline outside your door. This is a quiet, relaxing spot with many things to do within a short walk or a short drive right on the peninsula. Theres easy access to a well stocked market, gas station, bank and of course an ice cream shop.
The carriage house was comfortable and its owners were lovely! I would consider returning if the occasion arose.

Heaven
Suite Thyme is just perfect. Everything about it is wonderful, and the hosts Marilyn and John couldn’t be nicer. Do not hesitate to rent this property if you’re looking for a quiet hideaway on the ocean. We will definitely be back next year. Can’t wait!

Suite Thyme
We had a great time. The cottage was clean and cozy. The owners were awesome gave us great information on things in the area to do during our visit. We loved sitting on the rocks watching the sunrise, fishing boats and seals. If we return to the area we would definitely return to Suite Thyme.

Great week at Suite Thyme!
We had a wonderful week at Suite Thyme! It was the perfect location for a family vacation. Beautiful view over the ocean, neat rocks to scramble on, and near everything one might want from Maine -- Pemaquid lighthouse, a sandy beach, Hardy Boats, and lobster docks. The house was very comfortable and extraordinarily clean. Marilyn is a wonderful host and Suite Thyme is a sweet time.

Wonderful Getaway!
Lovely, well-appointed guest house on Pemaquid Point in New Harbor Maine. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings, great dining, or just relax and read a book on the rocks outside the house. You can walk, explore the area, hike, kayak, and enjoy all of the wonderful things mid-coast Maine has to offer. We didn't want to leave. The views are just spectacular and the owners, John and Marilyn, are friendly, knowledgeable, incredible people who've arranged the perfect vacation retreat. We are incredibly appreciative of their hospitality and can't wait to go back!

Wonderful, Serene Stay on The Coast of Maine
For our Maine vacation we wanted to stay in a single-family residence, as opposed to a condo or motel, and we wanted to stay in Maine for at least a week. With this criteria, I researched “Cabins and Cottages” on the coast of Maine. We were particularly interested in the coastal area between Brunswick and Bar Harbor Maine. Like others who travel to Maine, we wanted to experience the natural beauty of the lush green countryside, the awesome presence of the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocky coast, the coastal lighthouse network, the quaint lobster fishing villages, and exposure to the antique presence for which Maine is famous. And while in Maine, we did not want to miss delicious lobster meals. A great secondary benefit to such a vacation as this is the solitude and peaceful environment this area of Maine provides.
“Suite Thyme” met all of our criteria for a trip to Maine. It is a clean, extremely well maintained carriage house sixty yards from the rocky coast, with a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean, and small rocky islands. It is without question one of the most peaceful, and beautiful places my wife and I have ever stayed. Leave the windows open at night and enjoy the sounds of waves crashing onto the rocky coast. Get up in the morning and view one of the most beautiful views any vacation could ever offer. Just miles down the road, is Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, an American icon made famous in pictures and paintings. Just down the street is a lobster-fishing village, New Harbor, Maine, where you can enjoy fresh lobster at Sara’s. You can sit at the outdoor porch and watch your supper come into port on the lobster boats. This location offers not only a peaceful setting, but also is in great proximity to other Maine towns and villages. All of the attractions, which might prompt you to take a vacation to Maine, are within a short drive of Suite Thyme, and yet, you still have the serenity of this rental every night.
This rental, for us, embodies all the experiences, which we wanted during a visit to Maine. An added benefit was to meet John and Marilyn Darack, the owners of “Suite Thyme”. They are very nice people who we want to get to know better in the future. All we can say is, “What a great vacation we had at Suite Thyme!”

Midcoast Gem
We have returned to this special carriage house for several years. Our visit always leaves us feeling so relaxed and rested. The village of New Harbor is such a warm and quaint village offering spectacular views of lobstering and the open ocean. This property allows you to walk on the coastal rocks, wander casually to an active harbor or walk to the local market for fresh baked goodies every morning. You will enjoy the immaculate accommodation of "Suite Thyme" and fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Fully equipped kitchen to prepare meals or browse through the information that has been prepared by the owners. There are many local spots for the best lobster and seafood Maine has to offer. We just can't say enough about this special place!

A Bit of Heaven!
My wife & I stayed in Suite Thyme cottage for a week. The cottage is attractive, clean, comfortable, quiet & well equipped. It has a beautiful view of open ocean, waves crashing on large rocks, and Maine pines. The owners live in a larger home on the property and are welcoming and helpful. We can't think of a single downside to this property, and hope to return......Our favorite restaurant was the Anchor in the neighboring town of Round Pond.

A Little Piece of Heaven
We love vacationing in Maine. This was our first time in New Harbor ME. Suite Thyme Cottage was magnificent. The house was immaculate which meant a lot to us. Having the ocean for our front yard was amazing as we listened to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks; so very relaxing. The house was very comfortable and was well equipped with everything we needed. Lots of great restaurants, so much to see and do. The owners Marilyn and John as well as the caretaker, Shiela couldn't have been more helpful. We are coming back to this little piece of heaven next year. This was our best Maine vacation since we began coming in 2006. The lobster , none better.

We Can't Say Enough GOOD Things!
We will be back! Now I shall tell you why~ Suite Thyme is truly one of the most attractive, homey, well-appointed, ideally located, comfortable in every way places we have ever stayed. The owners John and Marilyn have an accurate sense of what will be needed for all ages. We did some of our meals at Suite Thyme and were amazed to find each item necessary to prepare our meals. Simple little things like clean towels, potholders, butter dish, etc. are right where you would expect them to be in this kitchen.
We did some traveling around the area (and many suggestions are provided in a lovely guide by the owners) but also enjoyed times of sitting on the rocks with waves crashing around us. There is a fine TV, a great WiFi connection, nice CD player, comfy beds and chairs, board games, etc. Inside and outside is glorious...everything for total relaxation.
Part of my career background is in the health field and I am delighted to say I could enjoy the impeccable cleanliness of this carriage house. Oh! That means everything to me!
Good fresh lobster is close by at reasonable prices. Not something we can find in Iowa!
Looking forward to our return! The Flemrs

Wonderful Place to stay in Maine
This is the perfect spot to decompress from all of your worries. A beautifully decorated apartment with everything you need. The kitchen if fully stocked with cooking utensils and all of your needs. The view is spectacular with quiet and peaceful surroundings. The owners take great pride in their place and it shows. They are lovely people and make you feel like it is your home. If coming to the Pemquid Peninsula this is a wonderful place to stay.

A truly wonderful vacation
Over the past fifteen years we have traveled to a different place twice each year for vacation. This was the absolute best of them all! The house (impeccable and well-equipped), the location, the view, the local area and restaurants, and the owners, John and Marilyn, together made it possible for us to enjoy the perfect vacation--to unwind, relax, and have a wonderful time.

What a great place to stay on the Maine coast.
Very clean and very comfortable, with an amazing back yard, the crashing waves of the ocean against the rocky shoreline. Amazing views..Could hear the crashing waves from our bedroom even with the doors closed.Very well manicured property, with a couple of adirondack chairs to sit and enjoy the view. Also chairs on the deck to enjoy the beautiful view. Can easily walk down to the rocks to get up close to the ocean. Boat tours very nearby, good selection of restaurants, lighthouse nearby. A very nice stay, and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay right on the ocean in Maine.

Perfect
We stayed here to experience fall foliage, the Maine coast, and eat lobster. The cottage and its location were perfect. The cottage was immaculate, the view was breathtaking, and access by car to various sightseeing highlights was excellent. The owners were responsive and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay.

A lovely place to stay and relax
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this location. Right on the water with a relaxing location hearing the waves crash and salt air surrounding you was ideal. Very clean and well appointed decor is a lovely place to unwind and reconnect. The owners of this location take great pride in their place and it shows! We have been vacationing in this area for many years and have never found a place that was so enchanting as this cottage.

A Great Stay
This has been a wonderful place to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We've visited coastal Maine regularly over the past 27 years and few visits measured up to this one. The weather was nice and the Pemaquid/New Harbor area is always great, but the cottage was outstanding, particularly in its setting near the crashing shore. We had great views from the living room, the deck, the lawn and the rocky shore. The amenities are all there to make us feel at home. And the owners, Marilyn and John, are so nice and keep the cottage clean and maintained well. They were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. We really hope to return.

rARE TREASURE
Suite Thyme is an incredible cottage if you are wanting to experience the sights, smells, and sounds of Maine at its best. We loved the ocean view as well as the sounds of the waves hitting the rocks. In fact we slept with the sliding door open so that we didn't miss a thing. The Adirondacks on the deck were perfect for sunning, reading, and snoozing. It was everything we hoped for...and more! John and Marilyn are meticulous about maintaining the cottage AND the grounds as well. They did a super job of informing us of their favorite places to eat and explore...and even told us about their "secret" lobsterman who delivered lobsters right to our door! This cottage felt like home...right down to the gas stove and the fleece blanket. We look forward to returning and will share this treasure with others!
