Reasonable price, clean room, close to my family who live in Oakland.
No place in the bathroom to set anything down. The sink was a small pedestal. A simple shelf by the sink or a cabinet, would have been most helpful. The light over the sink did not work. There was a metal stain on the side of the bathtub. There was no closet, but a coat rack, however, it was behind the fridge. A few more hooks on the wall, a table, desk or cabinet to put things on or in would have been helpful. There is a very bright light outside the entry door and the window shade did not block the light. I had a hard time going back to sleep due to the light in the room and from noise from some sort of generator or compressor. Tried to see if I could turn the light off, but there was no switch. Really kind of a bare bones place.

I was a little bit worried about bringing my girlfriend there, and when I let her know about the cities reputation it worried her as well. This place made the stay feel SAFE. I almost forgot what city we were in and the place as a whole felt like a little neighborhood. Worth every penny.

Gated community
The room was nasty and he had other rooms but still gave us a messed up room scratches all over the floor the bathroom floor was nasty the window I'm the room would not open it was either super cold or too hot the bed had stains all over it.

I liked the location and that security was extremely important to the management. Also, the manager was there to help when I had trouble with the keypad.
I didn't like the lack of counter space. There was no place in the bathroom to put your items.

Het is heel schoon. Goed bed. Auto goed te parkeren. Ruime lichte kamer. Relaxed. Leuke eettentjes op loopafstand.
De airco maakte voor mij best wel herrie, ook op zachte/uit stand, maar is ook nodig bij warm weer en op een gegeven moment raak je eraan gewend.

For a weekend stay, this inn is excellent. Very clean and convenient. Restaurants are within walking distance. There is gated parking on a first come first served basis but this is a big plus. Staff is friendly and helpful. If all you need is a nice and clean place to sleep and rest after a full day of exploring Oakland and the bay area including San Francisco, this place is a good deal.

My wife and I felt very secure and safe with no worries of our car getting potentially broken into with the secure gated parking. The staff was very kind and the check-in/checkout process was smooth and easy. The room was clean and comfortable beds, slept very good.
Although the room was clean. I think the shower could have been a little more cleaned as there was some hair left behind. But this was not really a big deal to me as the rest of the room was clean and cozy.

The management is excellent - very friendly and concerned that guests are safe and well cared for. This is my third stay in two months, and I will return! Rooms are very comfortable and updated. Small refrigerator, coffee maker, great mattresses and pillows, air conditioning, wifi, large tv with many channels and movies, nice bathrooms with good lighting and hair dryers. Safe parking behind gated entry. Close to excellent restaurants, groceries and gas station.
All rooms are second floor with no elevator - but this is not a problem for me! The place is wonderful to stay at if you can navigate one flight of steps.

Location, pleasant staff, price, size, layout. Wi-Fi worked great! Cute furniture.
The floors and rugs seemed rather worn. Didn’t really bother us.

You’d never know from outside, but the fixtures of the rooms were done in a cute 50s kitsch-meets-contemporary fashion. Note, this only applies to the fixtures, e.g. whatever the current management couldn’t simply remove easily. Also, never fear any undesirable folks loitering around—this place has a code for everything, including any way to get on the property. Clean. Nice bed with good, very comfortable sheets. Quiet, secure, and really convenient if you already know the area and the close-by restaurants and such.
Once upon a time, this must have been a real design gem of a property—someone taking a bright Mel’s Diner aesthetic and updating it with 2000s trends (a barn door for the bathroom! subway tiles!)—and it surely looks like it was cute. But over time, anything that seemed luxurious that wasn’t bolted into the wall has been replaced with quite cheap goods—hilariously small, rough towels (and only the bare minimum), an eco-friendly but empty shower dispenser for body wash and shampoo replaced with sad disposable toiletries, laminate flooring that was probably installed to be easy to clean but is so marred and rutted that you wonder if a forklift was driven through daily. But that’s not the worst cost-cutting that’s happened—the installation of office-inspired movement-tracking lights means that at any time, the lights will suddenly go out on you if you aren’t, say, pacing around the room or doing jumping jacks. And the countdown is ridiculously short—I stopped counting the number of times I had to get up and walk over to the door to turn the main lights back on (because waving your hands won’t do it as there’s no toggle for the sensor itself) while in the middle of trying to do some work… from bed. That’s right, there is no furniture to sit down on besides the bed itself and no table or desk to sit at, which is fairly standard in any motel. But given that the Wi-Fi was unreliable and at speeds that were straight out of the early 2000s, I had to use my phone hotspot for my laptop while crouched by the headboard so my power cord could reach the outlet. if all you want to do is go to sleep, great. The bed linens are actually heavenly. But even the “blackout” shade will leak light pretty considerably in the morning, almost as to say, don’t bother sleeping in. But more insulting than anything: checking in while there was still daylight, I was treated as though I was some hobo who deigned wake up an overnight desk manager in the middle of his supper.

close to downtown Oakland, free parking
parking spaces very narrow and made parking difficult

the room was styled in a retro vibe, but the parking was tiny and cluttered. they did have a gate to protect the cars but if space ran out ur forced to find parking elsewhere.
walls are paper thin and the manger allows parties in the room with loud music till 3am.

Cutest motel I’ve seen. The decor was updated and cute.
The soundproofing was non-existent and abysmal. I could hear every 2 am outside conversation, traffic, etc.

I didn’t enjoy the staff

The room was beautiful! The bed was freaking comfortable, I slept like a baby, I did wish it had maybe one more blanket because it did get cold and the heater was on but a plushier blanket would have been perfect. Everything was clean and LOVED the style of the room. Really retro and nice. I also liked that the hotel was gated, even though the street seemed quiet, lots of locals warned me to be careful and vigilant. I felt super safe with the gated hotel since I only used it to sleep and get some work done. Plenty of plugs to charge my stuff. It was easy to catch a Lyft and head to the waterfront and Jack London Sq. For the price I would def go back and stay here again. I loved how simple it was to settle in and enjoyed my stay.
I wish the room had water bottles, at least 2. I got thirsty and realized there was no water in the room or a place to buy water that I would feel comfortable walking to. I didn't see an elevator and had to take my luggage up the stairs, there may have been one, I just didn't see it.

It was painted nicely.
Little blaclk specks on bed linen. Glass shower door loose and flimsy(safety hazard), automatic light in bathroom turns off while in shower(scary), room door unbalanced & moves while keying in door code, desk clerk not friendly, bare bones room furnishings( no chairs, tables, sofa, nightstand). Scary location;definitely unsafe at night.
