Nice sauna in the downstairs bathroom.
The living room on the 1st floor was wonderfully light and airy with great views and comfy sofa - great for reading.
As a self catering place, it was also thoughtful of the owners to have supplied some milk and tea/coffee for a cuppa (not to mention the complementary bottle of prosecco).
The outdoor walk from the "Shepherd's Hut" to the main house/loo was a bit of a pain for anyone sleeping there (although to be fair this was in the floor plan).

Very unusual and unique property in a beautiful area of the country. Quiet spot with a nice pub 100 metre’s away although they are closed for food on a Wednesday. Nice area to sit outside and enjoy a sunny evening.
There was a blind missing in the upstairs bedroom letting light in early in the morning. Very, very hot tap in kitchen which could do with a warning sign. Could do with a pull down blackout blind in the downstairs bedroom for privacy.

Super comfy bed, it was so lovely to look out at views of the hills from bed with a cup of tea in the morning. The sauna was great, my partner loved it! Overall a really cosy and memorable place to stay. The pub was only a few steps away and was warm and welcoming, our food was excellent too.
Would recommend a blind for the doors in the corridor, the light shines though the glass doors to the bedroom very early. It might also be helpful to have a little light by the front door for night time. But everything was really lovely on the whole.

The property was located at a very quiet and peaceful village, about 15 minutes drive from Bath city. The property was unique, and such a lovely place to stay for couple of days. It was clean throughout, and the bathroom with sauna was a real treat.
There was a 50 meter very narrow road from the nearby pub leading towards the property.
The main bedroom was warm and comfy, but a separate door to the living room upstairs, the shed was not convenient. You really need a very very heavy duvet to keep you warm upstairs and in the shed at night. Fortunately, there are plenty for us.

The whole place was lovely. The sauna and location were a treat. So peaceful
The bed was 2 single mattresses... You could feel the dip in the middle.

Set in an amazing location overlooking the countryside, with loads of local walks right on the doorstep. In the evenings we sat outside with a hot chocolate, looking at the clear skies over the countryside and saw numerous shooting stars. The property itself was amazing, very quirky. The fireplaces were a particular favourite but the sauna/ bathroom was fantastic to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and look forward to coming back again.
The only slight downside is that you have to go outside to access the upstairs studio, but in truth this didn’t hamper things at all.

Description sleeps 6 but actually 2 and then we moved a mattress from the shepherds hut into the main house

We loved our stay, it was the perfect balance of rural escapism without being too isolated and close enough to Bath town centre. Highly recommend this as a great getaway location just wished we had stayed longer!

historically interesting, quirky with some lovely touches of luxury with the sauna.
nothing, it was fabulous!
will definitely return.

It is a very unique place to stay nice and quiet One of the highlights was a visit by two Tawny Owls.
Unfortunately a wasps nest was in the roof of the signal box and they we’re invading the studio so we could mot use it during our short stay despite the efforts of the owners arranging pest control to remove them the same day.

Loved the history and quirkyness. Huge king size bed & bathroom. Small private garden. Extra toilet. Tea/coffee/toilet paper/soap/washing up liquid already there. Also some welcome gifts when we arrived. Easy to get on Two Tunnels cycling route to Bath and plenty of walks nearby. Pub close and also a horse trekking centre. Shepherds hut very twee and studio / living space up top gives great views. Couch which turns into sofa bed good size for 2 people. Great communication with hosts as needed extra bedding for sofa bed which we hadn’t mentioned before coming so please do mention if required.
Big TV and main room has fantastic ceiling. Very comfortable bed.
We were family of four with two young adult children and so were hoping to use all sleeping facilities. The shepherds hut could only sleep one due to the position of the table. Shame it couldn’t be lifted up out the way. Also shepherds hut mattress in two parts so a gap occurs. Needs to be fixed down/strapped together.
Studio blinds not really suitable for sleep area. Very bright in morning to left of fireplace (nb. Summertime).
