The space
When you stay in the historical 4th and Gill neighborhood, you’ll enjoy walking past dozens of early 1900’s architectural homes. This downtown neighborhood shares many roads that lead directly to Knoxville entertainment and food districts.
Our beautifully restored rental was constructed in 1899 by well known historical architect, George Barber! Those of you who love historic homes will enjoy the original aspects of the home that we were able to retain throughout the restoration process. Original hardwood floors, stained glass windows, fireplace mantle, pocket door, door knobs and hinges... Post renovation, you will find the space to be a good mix of old and new, tastefully updated with modern touches and amenities. Still, we love to daydream about all of the life that has been lived in this home over the last century!
All rooms in the home let the natural sunlight in, which makes for peaceful mornings and presents a charming ambiance when getting ready for an evening out. Of course you can always close the curtains for those moments when you feel like taking a power nap or sleeping in :-)
There are 2 bedrooms with a total of 3 queen beds , with top-quality mattresses, pillows, and linens to provide you with the greatest nights of sleep. You’ll also find plenty of storage space to unpack. In the living room, you’ll also find a stylish and comfortable couch, that can also work for an additional guest to sleep comfortably. In front of the sofa, you’ll find the Flat-screen TV ready to connect to any of your favorite streaming applications, making it the perfect spot to make some popcorn and plan a fun movie night.
The cozy kitchen is completely packed with all the necessary amenities to cook all your meals, from the simplest breakfasts or snacks, to elaborate gourmet dinners. Stainless steel appliances include a refrigerator, stove with oven, and microwave. All the necessary kitchenware and tableware provided along with some spices to make your cooking easier.
A lovely dining table with chairs works perfectly to enjoy your meals together while contemplating what else the day might bring. And, if you are coming to Knoxville for work or need to do some work while traveling, there is high speed wifi ready to connect from anywhere in the home.
Finally, the 2 elegantly remodeled full bathrooms are fully equipped with the necessary toiletries. The master bathroom contains a shower, and the hall bathroom contains a clawfoot tub, complete with shower installation. You’ll find a washer and dryer convenient for your laundry needs, and an iron and ironing board are available, as well.

Very nice property. Large older house that had been renovated. If I had one critique it would be that we didn’t feel comfortable walking into town from that location and chose to drive. Everything was within 5-10 minutes by car.

Amazing place to stay!

We were only there for the night while passing through Knoxville. This is a beautiful, clean & spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath home with a full kitchen and a spacious yard to park at least 2 cars safely at night. Wish we could have stayed longer!

We only spent one night here but it was very nice. Clean and accurately described. We wanted to eat in, and the kitchen was wonderful to make our meal. We got groceries from Three Rivers close by. Street noise was there (train horn, party music somewhere close by) but manageable. Thank you!

We will definitely be back. This was a wonderful place to stay. Very neat and clean!

The space was nice for a quick weekend away with friends. The location was nice, and we were very comfortable.

Great location, highly recommend!

The property was very well kept and cute. There were plenty of notes to tell you about how things were to be. There was construction across the street and an upstairs neighbor, along with the trains. Overall felt safe for myself and my two daughters to stay at while we visited our son at college. The Wi-Fi did go out during our visit so that cut our visit short with our son because he needed to do homework. The location was definitely not within walking distance of downtown or at least not walking and filling safe so we did still have to pay for parking. All in all we were happy with our visit.
4.8
This place was very clean and comfortable. The owners were always quick to respond to messages. The location is convenient whether you are visiting places in Knoxville or surrounding areas. I would for sure stay here again.

We enjoyed the home & its uniqueness. It was centrally located to everything we needed!

House is absolutely gorgeous! Clean, well stocked. Location is amazing to get to the University and anywhere else you’d like to go. Master shower is a little tight but would definitely stay here again.

We rented this property as we had a wedding to attend to in downtown Knoxville. We were looking for something in close proximity to downtown as we had a day to explore. The home is beautiful with lots of natural woodwork and upgrades.
Great stay and very convenient to downtown.

We loved our stay here. Our accommodations were spacious,. The house is well cared for. We loved morning coffee on the back deck, the beds were comfy and the baths well stocked. Check-in information was easy to understand and our host left lots of suggestions of places to visit in the area. We loved. AST General store and the restaurants downtown are great. Be sure to visit Calhouns on the river and enjoy a river walk stroll.

We were able to hang out in this house and we're down there for the bassmaster classic for about a week.
It was everything we expected and we are thankful to stay in a nice property.
Very close to everything we needed to get to.

As advertised. Great unit with plenty of space, updated amenities, and easy access to explore downtown Knoxville without being in the immediate mess of downtown. Would definitely stay again

Very nice experience staying in this lovely historical home. This older home has been remodeled but the beautiful ornate woodwork was left to enjoy. Nicely decorated, comfy beds, good location, well equipped, any questions were answered quickly. Quick and convenient drive to the UT Medical Center which was the need for our stay in Knoxville. The owner was quick to help us extend our stay and answer questions when needed. Would absolutely stay again!

2 night stay for a girls getaway/Blake Shelton concert.
Condo itself was very nice and welcoming. Would have been interesting to have known the history of the home itself.

Host was very prompt in communication! Nice historic home with easy access to downtown Knoxville/UofTN. Spacious comfortable rooms; easy parking out front; clean & well maintained. "Neighborhood" of historic homes actually 1 short street of houses in an otherwise not-that-exciting location right by interstate and train tracks, but perfect for our quick weekend getaway!
4.8
The house is in a great location to restaurants and shopping. It was charming, clean and well equipped. Perfect for a long weekend with girls!

We enjoyed our stay here for long weekend right before Christmas. The house is as advertised. It was myself and my two adult daughters, and space was more than adequate. The house very clean and the process of check in and out was seamless. I would recommend this house if it fits your needs.

This historical home was beautifully restored and was spacious enough for our family of 5 adults. Missy provided any amenity you could possibly need! The home is in walking distance to New Market and the UT campus however we chose to make the three minute drive to the shopping areas. Communication with
Missy was so easy through VRBO!

Clean, beautifully decorated home with character. Loved our stay. Could use a few more plates, etc but we had paper plates so it was fine. Owner quickly respond. Great stay.

It was a beautiful house and well done, spacious. We didn't expect that we needed to have an app to watch the TV. You might advise others that the TV is not cable before they come. We enjoyed the stay.
