About this cabin rental
This Cabin is conveniently located just minutes (4 miles) from downtown Ellijay and the Apple Festival, yet it feels like it’s miles from civilization. It is a 4+ bedroom, 3 ½ bathroom cabin in the woods, just steps away from a beautiful trophy trout stream that can be heard throughout the property and house. Native Americans once thrived in this area and considered the rivers sacred.
The Master-on-main has a brand new pillow-top king sized mattress, a sitting area with a flat screen TV, and a large bathroom with separate shower and Jacuzzi tub for two. It opens up to both the front stone patio and back deck overlooking the river through French doors.
A second bedroom on the lower level features a queen sized bed with an organic cotton high-end Sealy pillow-top mattress. There is a great view of the river and this room has it's own separate patio area. The full bathroom with shower/bathtub combo is adjacent.
Upstairs is a cute loft that overlooks the dining room and fireplace. There is a computer nook with desk and a king sized mattress that can sleep one or two. Perfect for reading a book or taking a nap.
A third bedroom upstairs overlooks the river and has a brand new queen sized bed. The private outdoor deck accessible through sliding glass doors is a great place to enjoy morning coffee. The full bathroom with shower is adjacent.
The fourth bedroom is a very large suite that features a private half-bath and a separate deck overlooking the front of the property. There are three full sized bunk beds plus two additional twin sized beds that each have pull-out twin sized trundle beds. There is a sitting area as well. This room can sleep 7-10 people. Great room for all the kids!
All linens and towels are clean and white.
The Kitchen has stainless appliances, including new stainless steel Samsung refrigerator, four-top gas range, double oven, and a dishwasher. There is a microwave, a brand new Keurig coffee maker, Cuisinart coffee maker with coffee pot, a toaster, a griddle, and many other appliances/devices. The kitchen has recently been remodeled with granite countertops with a bar that can seat up to 4 people on barstools.
There is a 10+ person dining table in the dining room, plus up to 4 at the inside kitchen bar, plus a second table in the living room that can seat 2-4. The live-edge bar (seats13+) overlooking the water on the covered porch next to the XL360 grill is a huge hit for everyone and all meals! Plenty of seating for everybody.
This house can easily accommodate large parties or families. It would be perfect for large groups or retreats. There is plenty of room for parking as well.
While this cabin does not meet the ADA handicapped standards and regulations, it is very handicapped friendly. The main living areas are one level without stairs. The level lot, even though it is surrounded by mountains, is very level and has river access without stairs. Please call with any questions regarding special needs.

Our family had a great time at The Lodge! We really enjoyed the creek being right at the cabin! Owner was awesome! A bear did show up so that was exciting. Beautiful landscaping around the whole property!

House and property are in a great location - ample parking, close to town and restaurants. Listing should be updated to not include a spa as an amenity.
A note of caution about reserving kayaks - even with a confirmation of availability, check again before arrival. Also, the unsubstantiated accusation of early arrival will be addressed with VRBO.

Home was neat and clean. Had fun catching fish and playing in the stream and at the waters edge. Ended our days of fun at the fire pit with s’mores.
Had a great evening at the Ellijay American Legion Post. Also, enjoyed playing pickle ball at the rec area in Ellijay.

We had a group of 19 men and we were blown away by having the stream right out the back door, with the decks bar overlooking the water and the firepit along the waters edge! the kitchen had everything and having the bunk room allowed us to house so many! The owner was sooo helpful and provided us with everything we need and always promptly responded when we reached out! We couldn't recommend this place more! 😊❤️

Amazing cabin on Mountaintown Creek. The experience here was second to none! The cabin is huge, yet cozy and inviting. As clean and well-stocked as any cabin we have ever stayed in. The kitchen has anything you need to prepare a meal for two or twenty. The mattresses, pillows and linens were that of a five star hotel. Lots of private space upstairs for the kiddos, such a great floor plan at this cabin. Large dining room table, as well as a stunning live edge bar on the deck, which overlooks the creek. Amazing fire pit next to the water, which was stocked with firewood and log starter! This cabin is situated on a large level lot, making it easy to meander around and enjoy the beautiful setting, play outdoor games etc. We caught a couple of nice trout, had multiple cookouts on the large grill, told stories by the fire, kayaked (rented the ones on site) tubed, enjoyed some fine dining at locally owned restaurants, visited an apple orchard/farmers market and took a short drive to beautiful Carters Lake. We truly made a lot of special memories here. I have to mention the welcome basket. It was absolutely well thought out and prepared especially for our family. The host (Ashley) was very respectful, responsive to our questions and has the southern hospitality that makes a great trip just a little bit better! We will be back soon!

Amazing family get together. We were a party of 10 plus some doggies. The location and house setting is beautiful. I have never been at such a well supplied vacation home. From a well stocked kitchen, games, blankets, dog bowls, the fire pit set up etc. So warm and welcoming we felt like we were visiting someones home. Listening to the creek right outside the door was so relaxing. We spent most our time outside fishing, kayaking, playing in the creek and cooking on the grills. Game nights were fun at the large table to seat all of us while others enjoyed the large screen TV. We were able to enjoy local outings to the Farmers Market, Apple Orchard and a Winery. The only thing I would be aware of is the road turns into gravel and can be tricky in a few spots if you have a little car or sports car. Other than that this place is a treasure!

We had a great experience at Mountain Creek lodge. It was exactly as described and pictured and Ashley was very communicative and helpful. We rented the house for my mother’s 80th birthday and had 12 family members ranging from 3 to 86. Every member of the family enjoyed the river and there was plenty of room in the house. We especially loved the huge round griddle grill and used it everyday. Ashley gave us tons of extra information about fun things to do and good fishing locations. The fire pit was terrific and the kayaks were well used. We would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed the location and property. We were sad to learn that the hot tub is no longer there. But the kids had plenty of fun in the creek. Great place for a family or even a family and friends because the cabin sleeps so many!

We have vacationed in the blue ridge area every summer for the last 14 years but this was our first rental in Ellijay. We loved the cabin and especially the easy access to the river. We spent a lot of time sitting in the water, fishing (didn’t catch much) and tubing. Enjoyed the fire pit at night. Plenty of room for relaxing, eating and sleeping for our large party. Enjoyed shopping downtown and the local wineries. We had friends rent the cabin next door which was perfect.

We had a wonderful stay, house was perfect for our family which included 4 kids (ages 1,2,3 and 4). Ashleigh was very sweet and attentive to our needs. The river in the back was the highlight of our trip and offered a lot of options for the kids to use theirs imaginations while the parents sat down and relaxed for a while. Thank you Ashleigh!

We had the best time at this cabin! Ashleigh is the greatest owner. She was so helpful and full of knowledge. The cabin was very comfortable for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped. Fire pit was a hit. Watch out for diving beavers at night! You will not be disappointed here. Thanks and we will be back!

Ashleigh was great! So helpful and communicative. We had 6 adults and 9 kids and there was more than enough space for all of us. We spend most of our time by the fire pit and the river, but loved the whole property. The kids loved the hot tub and us guys loved the grill! The beds were comfy, and the kitchen and dining was just big enough to comfortably allow us to have a few nights of dinners in. Definitely recommend!

Beautiful spacious cabin just off the beaten path. Located 7-8 minutes to Ellijay and about 25 to Blue Ridge. Just around the corner is the coolest apple barn! Owner is very responsive and helpful with activities and local happenings. Safe bet for a huge cabin with everything you will need to tap out for a few days!

Ashleigh was amazing and very easy to contact. We came right in and felt at home. Such a gorgeous house and lot- we spent so much time outside fishing, playing, and sitting by the campfire. The hot tub was an amazing plus for us as well. We plan to come back!!

We had a great time. My kids loved kayaking and floating in the river on the hot afternoons.
Ashleigh was great to work with, gravel road is a little rough, we went in and out each day and blew out the suspension in my SUV.
Great place to escape from the city!

We spent the annual "Fam Jam" here and had an absolute fantastic time. This is a beautiful piece of property that sits right on the river. It is peaceful and tranquil. There was 16 of us in total with 6 kids ranging from 2 -15 years old. There was something for everyone from tubing down the river, to fishing and kayaking and hot tubing. The fire pit was enjoyed by all, the kids made s'mores in the early evening and the adults enjoyed beverages later in the evening. We did a lot of things in the area from fly fishing, to wine tasting, brewery hopping, water water rafting and tubing on the Cartecay River. We took a couple longer adventures to the Atlanta Aquarium as well as the Chattanooga Zoo. The house has everything you could need to make family dinners. The patio area and grill was used daily and thoroughly enjoyed. The hostess, Ashleigh, was absolutely amazing and extremely responsive and easy to communicate with when we had questions or need assistance.

Great Family Getaway
Our party of 17 included ages 11 months to 83 years. The property itself, including the comfy family room with giant TV (great for binging Season 4 of Stranger Things), the deck, outdoor griddle, hot tub, and creek, offered lots of on site fun and relaxation. Some saw deer in the front yard. We enjoyed easy trips to downtown Ellijay, Blue Ridge, and the following state parks: Tumbling Waters, Fort Mountain, Brasstown Bald, and Amicalola Falls. The house feels secluded but is relatively close to civilization (groceries and pharmacies, etc).
The Wi Fi, smart TV, outdoor griddle, hot tub and ice maker worked well. With our large party we had a couple of brief times that hot water was low, but this always corrected itself. Property owner Ashleigh was very welcoming, knowledgable, helpful, and kind!
We enjoyed eating at Ellijay Wood-Fired Pizza, Ellijay Coffee, and Cantaberry (the Blue Ridge location).
We had a great stay!

Amazing peaceful getaway!
We had a group of 19 people consisting of our children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren celebrating our 50th Anniversary. It was the perfect setting for our large group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the creek! Ashleigh was the perfect hostess and easy to communicate with. Missing the tranquility already!

Beautiful property!
My family and I stayed at this property in Sept 2021 and we had a GREAT time! Home is beautiful and clean. We loved having a camp fire by the river and relaxing in the spa every night. The owner, Ashleigh, is very nice and super attentive. She responds very quickly and communicates well. I highly recommend this property. Can't wait to say, again, soon!

Nice for Family
We had a nice stay at this cabin with my large family. The location is wonderful, right next to the river and close to Apples if interested in going. Some rooms/bathrooms need updating and better furniture, as well as more towels, as we were running out with our large family, but there are washers and dryers. Overall wonderful stay, we enjoyed the hot tub and the grill outdoors was a hit with all of our meals! Ashleigh was wonderful in communicating when we had any questions. Thanks!

Outstanding Mountain Cabin for Large Group
What a charmed place! We highly recommend this wonderful cabin with all the comforts of home. Located within minutes to downtown Elijay with a mountainside stream, fire pit, hot tub, and outdoor griddle for cooking. A giant TV for football and movies after a long day of exploring and hiking in the area. Ashleigh is a wonderful host, has thought of everything, and really made our stay special. We hope to return on our next visit to North GA. Thank You!

Better in person
We had a fantastic time at this property. I love that the master was very big and separate, definitely a master bedroom suite. The layout of the house was great, enjoyed the wrap around balcony, and outdoor space. Everyone loved it!!

Great vacation spot!
We had such a great time on the river with our two retrievers! It was very secluded. Even though there were other cabins near us, we never saw a single person. Everything was labeled with their intended use which was very helpful. My only feedback would be to consider labeling the light switches. So many lights and switches, it was like a little game every morning and night lol.

August family week
Wonderful and beautiful. Stayed in the creek as much as possible. Thanks so much for the loan of the tubes to float in, and for rwnting us the kayaks. Just a great week for everyone. Great location. Dogs loved swimming in the creek. A wonderful vacation home.

We unfortunately had to cancel our beach trip due to red tide, so we quickly readjusted to the mountains! The homeowner was wonderful to work with and so accommodating! Had my three kids and friends...... it was perfect! Fishing, swimming, kayaking, tubing and a lot of enjoying each other! Highly recommend visiting this property. Sharing it with friends and family so they can enjoy the experience!

Amazing!
We stayed for the week with a few other families and their kids and everyone had a great time. The adults mostly enjoyed sitting creek-side, able to watch the kids splash in the water while enjoying a book or a drink. Fires at night were popular as were card/board games in the evening while kids did their own thing. There is also plenty to do and places to eat within a short drive. Would love to visit again.

We’ve rented many cabins in Blue Ridge and this cabin on the river in Ellijay is the first one the group said they would rent again. 1) The beds were very comfortable (haven’t found that in other rentals). 2) The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, dinnerware, utensils and decent glass wine glasses (stem and stemless). 3) The property is peaceful and private with convenient access to hiking, shopping and restaurants. We caught trout right off the bank of the property and it was easy to wade. We tied our floats off the bank and hung out in the river for hours. Ashley the property manager gave us a tip where we could drop the floats up river and have our own private tube float back to the property. The fire pit was used every morning and night (yes in July) and we were visited every morning by a hummingbird. 4) the grills actually worked at this property and we used the flat grill every day to cook eggs, bacon, vegetables and fish.5) the layout of the beds and baths worked well for our group. Each family had their own privacy bed/bath set up. There were 8 of us (4 families) for the week and extra children joined us on the first weekend so the bunk room worked nicely for the family with children6) Ashley was super responsive and made our trip special as she gave us tips customized to our needs.7) our only suggestion would be to bring your own pillows. I’m sure if we told Ashley that our pillows weren’t what we expected she would have fixed that but we didn’t mention it to her.

Best Family Cabin
This cabin was exactly as described in the reviews and the owners descriptions. Due to the location of the cabin and the way the cabin is set up the family had one of our best vacations ever. The owners attentiveness to this cabin and their response time was incredibly fast. We as a family absolutely loved this cabin and its location. We had numerous family members that included grandparents grown children and grandchildren for a total of 19 people. It was an absolute joy to watch the grandchildren fish in the morning before the adults got up. Due to the size of our party we did all of our cooking at the cabin and totally enjoyed the over abundance of the way the kitchen is set up the accessories in the kitchen. Although I did not use a lot of the extra appliances anything that you could think of was stocked in that pantry. We totally enjoyed grilling every single day and tried lots of different things on the hibachi/grill. The youngest child with us was six the oldest was in their 40s and every single one of them had a great time. The kids enjoyed just floating in the river and they enjoyed the fishing. The adults enjoyed walking on the road and just relaxing at the outdoor fire pit and the way the bar is set up to overlook the river. We did a lot of the local sites and some not so local and we spent was a lot of downtime as a family just relaxing. We even had a night with no electricity which made for a fun using flashlights and trying to figure out where everyone was due to a power outage that was region wide. I merely mentioned to the owner that the icemaker wasn’t working and she was there within two hours and fixed it then additionally went and bought another icemaker as I told her it didn’t matter whether it worked or not there wasn’t enough ice for my family. This shows the owner is concerned and making a great vacation for everyone involved I was not expecting her to buy an ice machine as I am used to just buying Ice for this big of a family. My husband in talking to them mentioned that he missed his weight scale and it was provided. I have never experienced in all my otherRentals from VRbo such a quick response from the owners. Although there was plenty of seating inside the house and at the bar area if I was to give one critique I would say put a few more chairs by the fire pit. There is ample seating at the fire pit but my family was out there every single night relaxing and having 19 people was extraordinary.

The best cabin rental experience ever
Upon the initial sight of the property, it was as if we were entering a secluded mountain sanctuary. The natural landscape is stunning, as the mountains edge near the cabin, with mature hardwood trees surrounding. The huge roaring creek flows within 20 feet of the large back deck. The owner has added lots of fresh plants around the property. It’s a very relaxing experience just to walk the property and admire the work that has taken place. The fire pit area beside the creek is amazing. The hot tub is well maintained, and gives you a perfect view of the stars at night. If you love to fish, the creek is loaded with Trout. The fish feeder goes off, morning and evening. You can actually see the fish from the back deck. Also, if you love tubing or kayaking, this is the perfect location! As for the cabin, first class, spotless, very inviting and well furnished. Ashley’s property is a slice of heaven. We plan to return in the fall.

Beautiful memories were made!
This authentic cabin is perfectly situated; you feel hidden. There is ample parking. The grounds are nicely landscaped and level, but best of all, the cabin is practically on top of the river. Even from inside the living room, you can hear the running river. The cabin was spacious with plenty of room for all of us, 4 adults, 6 kids, and one very happy dog.

Needs compensation
Property was perfect except, oven is not on right temp, jacuzzi tub was not operable. It was unplugged so obviously someone was aware of the issue. Ashleigh did say she would have it looked into. Not helping my Uncle who that's all he wanted was the jet tub. I asked for compensation since I had the house cleaner than when we arrived. Got up at 4 a.m. to wash bedding and cleaned up grease left at home. I had every intention of rebooking but to be ghosted by Ashleigh is very unsettling. Not the way to run a rental. I should know I too have rentals.

Family Gathering
We enjoyed sharing Thanksgiving with our family at the cabin. It was large enough for us to gather safely. Because of covid, we did not visit the winery, or other site seeing attractions in the area. We did enjoy sitting around the fire pit by the river, playing games in front of the fireplace, watching movies and sipping hot drinks on the back porch. Short hikes in the area and the hot tub were also popular. It was a great week and we all appreciated Ashleigh's warm hospitality.
