This municipality is fortunate to have the legendary El Cedro forest in its territory, a Tertiary refuge where the laurel forest has survived as a memory of a time when man had not yet made his presence felt in the world. The exuberant vegetation of its mountains is not at odds with the greenness of its valley, one of the most fertile on the island of La Gomera, dotted with terraces and banana plantations that form a space that, seen from any of its many viewpoints, attracts the gaze of the visitor.
Hermigua also has the best climate in the world, as reported by foreign scientists at the beginning of the last century. And it is not a lie. Nestled in a ravine that is lost in the gaze, it dies on the beach of Santa Catalina, a privileged space where the green extensions of the banana plantations play with the blue of the sea, ending in the Hermigua davit, one of the most picturesque places of the island's heritage, where the prisms of the pier still remind us of the municipality's exporting past, exceptional witnesses of the town's past.
A visit to the San Pedro neighbourhood is a must, in the place known as the Valle Alto, where the Dominican convent stands out, one of the best examples of religious building on the island with interesting artistic pieces, complemented by a neighbourhood surrounded by houses of traditional Canarian architecture preserved since the 18th century. The group is completed by the Museo del Gofio (Museum of Cheese) and the Museo Etnográfico (Ethnographic Museum), where the visitor can learn first-hand about the traditions and customs of the inhabitants of La Gomera and understand the rich past and gastronomy of the island.
Another attraction that should not be forgotten are undoubtedly its trails, known throughout the island for the richness of the landscapes through which they run, from El Cedro to the farmhouses; from Hermigua to the surrounding municipalities; from El Pescante to the beach of La Caleta, a refuge of nature prepared for the enjoyment of swimmers with the best facilities and infrastructure.

Schöne Finca im schönsten Tal Gomeras
Gemütliches, sauberes Appartement mit 180 Grad Ausblick auf den ganzen Tal und aufs Meer. Ruhig, viel Raum mit allem was man braucht.
