About this house rental
Spacious Hatteras Island cottage with an expansive great room and two bedrooms that have ocean views.
Under the cottage is a bonus Clubhouse with ping pong, TV, Bluetooth speaker, outdoor games, large outdoor seating area, BBQ area, and a place to put your surfing gear.
The cottage includes public access right across from the driveway to the beach. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance from the house, as well as the Koru Spa. in 2023 guest will have access to the Kinnakeet pool.
Great home to telework from, who doesn't love an ocean view, while working? Our home maximizes the amazing views with our massive windows and oversized sliding doors. From morning to night, the views are non-stop. The early morning sunrise over Avon Pier is breathtaking, the evening sunset over the sound is also quite remarkable as well with its shades of yellow and red. Even after the sun goes down, the Pier light comes on to even more spectacular views.

Beach access is right across from the driveway, and it is approximately 1 min walk over the dunes. There are tons of restaurants walking distance from the house, as well as The Koru Spa.
You can walk to many restaurants and shops. A bike is the best type of transportation if you would like to explore all Avon has to offer! There is a bike shop where you can rent bikes within walking distance from the house.

-Hot tub cleaning before and after each stay
We do ask that guests clean up after themselves and read/abide by all check out instructions.
During the summer there is a minimum stay of a week required.

The owners were amazing with communication and responded promptly. The property and location were perfect! We enjoyed all of the "extras" like the infinity games table, ping pong table, outdoor cornhole and connect four, and other games and amenities. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots pans, etc. The property was clean, as well. Great vacation rental!

First off, staying on OBX during the off season is incredible. No traffic, having the beach to yourself, and the quiet! Cold means nothing when you have a hot tub, and this house has a great one! We loved the house - plenty of room for everyone, great location, and a wonderful new kitchen. The view from every level was awesome. No houses between you and the pier - one of the best views of the ocean in Avon. Families with younger kids will love the game room and huge TV on the top level. Pet friendly lay out - gates on every deck level. A very short walk to beach access. We loved the solitude of the off season, but this house would be at the center of everything during the summer. A great find! We're so happy we stayed here!

It is a great house with lots of room and a comfortable living/cooling area. The views are lovely. Our only negatives are flat pillows and hard towels. These are minor with such a great property.

Everything about the property suited us to a T. Michelle replied to communications within minutes and was so accommodating when asked to change the schedule slightly. The decor and house was beautiful and there was literally everything there that you could possibly need. We loved that we could keep the dogs contained on each floor's deck. The view was awesome. We know that when we want to head back down to OBX, we will want the same house. Love it!

We entered a very DIRTY and extremely DUSTY house. From old moldy coffee in the maker to food stuck on pans to cigar butts on the porch and trash the middle of the bedroom floor to black mold of mildew around the sliders to bathroom door that didn’t close. Dust bunnies were hanging from the ceiling, and thick dust on the blinds (a dangerous environment for our child with asthma). No basic cleaning supplies weren’t available. I reached out explaining the condition of the house and unfortunately the owner’s reply was extremely defensive. As a property owner myself I would have been so embarrassed for a renter to have an experience like this one however this owner replied to my concerns that ‘her housekeeper had a stroke’ so apparently she was aware the house didn’t get a good cleaning. Her suggestion was to have the asthmatic child sit in the chair by the air purifier. Completely unacceptable! 2/3 of our family had to end vacation early because it was just so gross and honestly dangerous. We thought the owner didn’t know about the mess but SHE DID and DIDNT CARE. We vacation a ton using short term rentals and have never had any issues. She did offer $50 to cover the cleaning supplies we had to purchase ourselves (hand soap, dish soap, etc) and to have it dusted. We are definitely easy going people and understand things happen but the combination of the mess and her not caring ridiculous! RUN from this property!

The property was very nice, the location was excellent and the ocean views for a non ocean front home were unbeatable! The beach was very close by with the fishing pier right next door. The best part was that the owners seemed to take pride in providing timely responses to our communication and truly interested in us enjoying our stay.

The Good: Location is perfect. The Master Suite Bed is very comfortable. Nice Refrigerator, Washer and Dryer. There is an Infiniy Game Table that was fun to use. The Hot Tub/Jacuzzi was nice after it was re-cleaned. The Ping Pong
Table was fun after Husband and Son cleaned the game room and received new paddles 4 days into our stay. The Bad: Pictures on line are very deceiving. When you get there the house is in a state of neglect inside and out. Basketball net is wripped halfway off. Outside Garbage Can has only 1 wheel. Blinds are broken throught the house. Closet Doors broken. Main Hall Throw Rug smelled of animal pee/feces. I placed it outside on the porch. I do have current pictures as of 8/13 that the owner did not want to see. Last Comment: The owner did have the Hot Tub/Jacuzzi re-cleaned, grass cut, and ordered new ping pong paddles from Amazon that got delivered to the house. Offered to have the house re-cleaned. We declined the re-clean and did it ourselves. We were given a cleaning fee refund. Thank you!

This cottage was perfect for our family with kids in different age ranges! The gaming table and game room were perfect for rainy afternoons or taking breaks from the sun. The home was very comfortable and inviting with awesome views. The owners were very responsive when we had questions. Hoping to stay here again soon!

The weather was pretty stormy (chilly, wet) but we still had a wonderful time. We could watch the waves from the house and on Sunday things brightened up and we were able to go to the beach and fish. The house had plenty of games/things to entertain our group and restaurants were close by so that was a bonus as well. Everything was clean and the layout of the home was quite nice for our group.

Dare Dream worked perfect for our family! The place was clean and linens and towels were all provided which was a plus! It saved us more space for packing. The view is amazing and it’s not that far from the beach. We also had the view of the pier which was nice being able to see if anybody was catching anything. They have a very nice fish cleaning station also. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we possibly could need. It was the first place that provided a few things like coffee, coffee filters, paper towels, etc. Communication with the owner was above and beyond. They responded immediately to every question and even sent a maintenance guy over immediately for an issue we had. I highly recommend this place and I don’t think you would be disappointed.

The house was in a great location and had everything we needed. There was wind and rain when we arrived and we had trouble getting into the home. I called Michelle and she answered immediately. She is, without a doubt, the best host! There was a great game table in the living room area that my grandson loved. We played a lot of games on that table. There is a room downstairs with a ping pong table that my older grandchildren enjoyed. I would not hesitate renting this house again. Thank you Michelle for sharing your home with us!

The house was exactly as described and was perfect for our family of five. The views from the back deck were amazing and that’s where we enjoyed our morning coffee. The beach was an easy walk and we enjoyed all the toys available. The club house was fun for the family as well. Thanks for a great vacation in a beautiful home.

We loved this property and the surrounding area. The house had everything we needed and then some. So many extras were included! Management went above and beyond to help us. We were there during the off season so the neighboring campground and other properties were totally quiet. The beach was incredibly close, unpopulated, and beautiful!

This place is close to the beach but not on it. The walk to the beach is very quick and convenient. We couldn't get the keypad to work upon arrival but the host was able to help us immediately with that. The available game room was fun for adults and kids alike. The house was very functional and the appliances were new / recent. The only things I would have changed were that two of the three bathrooms were out of hand soap (we purchased some and left it behind for future guests) and access to beach towels. I think this is the only beach house that I have stayed at where they weren't available (we had brought a couple of our own as it was noted on the listing) but still a little unusual for a beach house with a hot tub to not provide.

Me and some friends came down to stay for a few days during spring break. Although the weather was not great, the place we stayed was. The hottub and game table made for some fun times together and overall we loved the place.

We loved the House and all the amenities that came with the house; house was clean and updated; location was perfect for what we was wanting the views from the house was perfect; and probably one of the most important things to us was the Communication from owner! We would and absolutely will stay at this property again when visiting Outerbanks! OVERALL we would give a 10/10!

This house was wonderful to stay at. It was very clean and had little touches to make you feel welcomed. The kids loved the game room and game closet that were available. I loved the fire place and the reading chair. The hot tub was clean and well maintained.
The location to Avon pier couldn’t be better. The pier is only a few minutes walk by either road or beach. There’s a beach access only a few meters from the homes driveway.

The house was amazing in the most perfect spot in Avon which is now my favorite place! We had my private wedding ceremony with just myself, new husband and two children. It was simply magical in every way and we will never forget it! Thank you so much for hosting the best little vacation we have ever had. We hope to be back for years to come!!

Expect to walk up and down a lot of steps to each level of the home but enjoy a great open floor plan at the top level with a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean and Avon Pier. Bedrooms are cozy with easy access to the second level deck that has a jacuzzi. The owner was quick to respond to text messages when we had questions. Truly enjoyed our stay and look foward to visiting again in the future.

Great time, highly recommended
First time in the banks for our family and the family we stayed with. We had an amazing stay. The beach was terrific. Pier was great. We did a dolphin tour on Roanoke island and the passenger ferry to Ocracoke, both were highlights (would recommend going to Ocracoke earlier in the day to either make the car ferry or rent a gofllf cart. Only thing I could say somewhat negative about the house and for us it wasn’t, was it’s way south so making it to the north end of the banks would just need to be a day trip north. That said I love where we stayed, no commercialization like up north. Felt quaint and every thing there was local to the area. House was great, everyone loved it! Thanks for everything. Orange blossom in buxton and duck donuts are musts for morning pastry fix. Fishing on the pier was so fun and relaxing, we made an entire day of it, the people working the pier are super helpful. Did all that and mixed in 4 beach days. A trip to remember for sure.

Best appointed rental in Avon!
I’ve been coming to Avon with my family for more than 2 decades and this is the most well appointed, equipped house I’ve ever stayed in! Michelle has thought of everything from an abundance of cooking utensils/equipment, a great coffee station and ample staples were ALWAYS looking for but forget to bring (salt and pepper, tin foil, etc), to an amazing entertainment center and media options and amenities. Michelle was responsive, attentive and helpful for the duration of our stay for anything we needed. Staying next to the campground and pier made for amazing people watching and neighbors. The house was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location. We can’t wait to come back to Dare Dream!

This place was fabulous as a long weekend visit with visiting friends from MN. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds! You can’t predict Mother Nature and it gave us a surprise nor’easter with crashing waves and gale force winds but this house was a awesome safe space to experience and watch it roll in. Close to shopping and restaurants as well as a quick drive to Hatteras and the ferry. Highly recommend!
