The house was within easy walking distance to the beach. My dog loved lounging in the sun on the deck, and the hot tub was great. Beds were comfortable. Certain areas of the home could have been cleaner on arrival. Overall a nice stay!

This home was perfect for our vacation. Very comfortable for our group of 7. Notable things are the spacious living and dining area and easy check in and out process. Its a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the grocery store. Would recommend for any larger groups, and would definitely stay here again my self.

This is the second year we stayed here with our family friends. It’s the perfect house for a week in Avon! Highly recommend!!

Communication great. Tidy and clean. Small issues with drainage in hall way shower. Hot tub worked. There was a roach issue that needs to be addressed.

We loved the house, all the space, the floor plan, the view from the top floor. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

The home was large and great location . There was flooding in the driveway, which is no fault of the owner . It had rained a lot the previous week . So getting in and out of the house was challenging.

The cleanliness and the accommodations this house provided were awesome, I expected to find signs of previous tenants with pets, damaged and stained furniture, broken fixtures for the rental rate of the home, but nope everything was clean and worked as it should. Very impressed and will definitely book again.

Plenty of rooms and bathrooms! Hot tub on top deck was perfect. Big living room with lots of space and the kitchen was fully loaded with pretty much everything you need if you like cooking for the group. Big dinning room table. Lots of decks. Decks galore! Even a screened in section to keep the bugs out. You can walk to the beach or just drive across the street and park at ramp 38 if you’re feeling lazy. Definitely recommend!!! Thanks guys!

As Good As It Gets is a wonderful choice for a vacation stay. Parking is a bit of a problem, and when it rained the driveway was flooded. It was a bit of a hike to the beach for us 70 year olds and it was very hot this week, but we survived. The house is roomy - plenty of seating for guests and a perfect bedroom set up for the group. Three bedrooms with baths was very appreciated. Sorry there was no game room. The kitchen has so many utensils and plenty of pots, pans, dishes, etc. I would prefer not having the hot tub in the sun, but it was a great hot tub. We brought our own small charcoal grill, but there is one provided in the backyard. Saw 2 cockroaches which were relocated to the back yard. Nice yard with green grass. I would come back again.

We arrived at the house late at night. It was a bit hard to find. Additional lighting would have been helpful. The trash under the car port smelled bad due to a broken trash can. The bedrooms were all very nice and the common rooms were also nice and clean. However, the refrigerator was linking water from under the freezer and the top floor bedroom did not have soap or shampoo. The front and back yards were nicely kept. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will consider this property for a future stay.

This was a great vacation spot for our family and friends. Plenty of space for all of us and the deck was our favorite spot to relax! Short walk to the beach and just enough places to eat and stores to have options.

Beautiful home with more than ample space Layout of home was perfect Kitchen well equipped Furniture comfortable The only issues was with prior cleaning before my arrival Alot of obviuos cleaning missed The refrigerator had a water leak. We had received a notice previous renters had made notification but we did not hear back This home is still in excellent location and still a nice home to rent

We arrived with the shower full of sand. There was significant mold on water dispenser in the refrigerator and the A/C wasn’t working on main floor. The biggest problem was the run around we got on how/when they would fix it. The property manager still hadn’t gotten to us by mid day of the following day and we ended up packing up to move out. We couldn’t stay in a place with no working A/C as we have health issues. Plus the timeline in which they addressed the issue was not okay. A very uncomfortable situation all around.

The house is great. It has been our go to for over 8 years. We may never go back due to how badly Vacasa manages things and the crazy high fees plus poor customer service.

So nice and so clean
Wonderful house, super clean, comfy beds and really awesome views on both sides of the property! Lots of stars out with a great view of them from the well kept hot tub!

Very clean quiet home, walking distance to the beach
Property was great, nice comfy home with comfy beds! However when we arrived there was a note left on the fridge from the previous guests that the hot tub heater was not working. Come to find out it wasn’t working when we arrived. Called after hours maintenance and someone came out the next day to service it, however it was still not heating up. I then called Vacasa to inform them that the hot tub was still not working and the lady on the phone told me that 82 was a normal temperature for a hot tub (a simple google search completely proves that statement wrong) to avoid getting upset I hung up the phone. Next day I went to the Hatteras rental office to get some someone to fix the hot tub. This was a girls trip and we specifically rented this house because it had a hot tub. The woman at the office was going to send out a maintenance person. Upon his arrival he tried to reset it and explained to me that this hot tub had been down most of the summer! I found this very upsetting that the rental office would knowingly rent out a property with a dysfunctional
hot tub. Not to mention the condition of the hot tub. The cover is in complete disrepair so it was very difficult to cover and uncover it. It really put a big damper on our girls trip. Please call ahead if you are planning to rent this property. I’m pretty sure the hot tub will not be fixed.

Nice location.
The kitchen was well stocked. They had tons of games, movies and books. It was only a short walk to the beach and the beach was not crowded. You could watch the sunset form the balcony. Food lion, super wings, ace hardware, duck donuts….were all close by. The driveway was flooded for a few days due to a heavy storm. The beds were not super comfortable, but overall it was a great house at a great location.

Close to beach but know the walk is not particularly easy if you are toting small children, beach wagons or elder family members. You cross over dunes via a long board walk and across sand dune. Great if you only have a towel and a surf board.
Cleaning service for which there is an additional charge did a sub-or job. Fridge was dirty, dishwasher full of wet dishes.
Curtains or blinds in bedrooms would be a welcome addition unless you don’t mind getting woken up at 6am by the sun.
The hot tub was broken when we arrived. Called maintenance I had to repair the following day. Worked well but should be replaced based on his age.

Cozy house and good for larger families
This house was great for the most part. The first day we checked in, we noticed that the hot tub wasn’t working, finally got ahold of someone the next day and were basically told they’d get to it whenever they get to it, it never got fixed. Also, the ice machine didn’t work. Like another review stated, it would have been nice to know that we would’ve needed to bring more toilet paper, dish detergent, laundry detergent and paper towels. The hours for the community pool (a little over a mile away) were limited and food options in Avon were difficult to get food for dinner but luckily there is a Food Lion close by. The only other issue we had was location, you have to drive an hour for any main attractions, which for some would be great!

Overall a great house that met the needs of 10 (7 adults, 3 kids) for 5 nights.
Some additional information that would have been helpful to know about Hatteras Realty rentals that was not provided until we arrived at our rental: “We will supply you with some starter items: a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a roll of paper towels and 2 kitchen trash bags. You'll need to bring all additional paper products, soaps.”

Relaxing stay at the beach
The house was very spacious for all 6 of us and our dog. The family/kitchen area was spacious and was the perfect gathering place for meals and family games on the large dining table. We enjoyed the top deck for sunrises and sunsets.
The bedrooms had plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. The two master bedrooms had lbig walk-in closets. The deck off the second level was larger than we expected.
The ocean-side beach was about a five minute walk away and easy to get to. The sound-side beach was about a five minute drive south. It was nice to have both options.
This house was one of the best vacation houses we’ve ever rented for our family!

Thanksgiving in Avon
As Good As It Gets is in a quiet location just a couple minutes walk from the beach. The neighborhood is right on the edge of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, with views of the Pamlico Sound. The kitchen is well stocked with everything one would need to make Thanksgiving dinner. Overall, a great property that our family enjoyed making memories at.

Great layout and location
This house was very well stocked in the kitchen and just a short walk to beach. Food lion just down the road a bit. And Duck Donuts :-) Loved the outside hot tub on the top deck. We needed a pet friendly place and this was clean and nice. The only minor complaint is that the place needs an updated decor- the pictures are faded and there is a lot of older decor that is very dusty. all the games/books/dvds are from the 80s and 90s but we liked that. but this is minor. J with a renovated interior on the decor, this place is 5+ star!!! The neighbors next door were nice and quiet. We will return I feel sure.

Good location, clean, comfortable house
As far south as you can go before reaching the Hatteras Nat'l Seashore. Beach - 3 minute walk, beautiful, blue water. Nice sunset views to the west over the sound. AC worked great. All was very clean. Everything you need in a beach rental.

thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
My 3 teens (15, 17, 19) and I really enjoyed our stay at It's As Good As It Gets. It is spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with pots/pans/knives/etc. We all loved the choice of movies for family movie night. We did have some initial difficulty figuring out how to get the controllers to turn the TV, DVD player on (even with 3 teens!). It would have been helpful to have the remotes labeled and instructions. the HDMI cable had to be plugged into a different port. Everything great after that!
Comfortable places to curl up and read. Decor is homey. Thank you to the owners and VRBO/Hatteras for making our stay easy.

Great place to spend a week!
It was a great location, far enough away from the center of town for less traffic, yet close enough to the shopping areas. A short walk away to a beach entrance and a quiet neighborhood. The house was well stocked with appliances & kitchen utensils, plus it came with linens. We didn't have any issues with anything to do with the house. It was a very relaxing & worry free stay.

Amazingly equipped kitchen and amenities
We were a little skeptical when we read the previous reviews, but the home seemed to be just what we were looking for. 3 bedroom suites, plus two additional bedrooms for our multigenerational family grouping of 10. So we came from 600-1500 miles to gather for a week. Weather was perfect, and we cooked 4 meals in utilizing all 6 cookie sheets for one meal and the extra large crock pot for another enjoying local fresh seafood for three of the meals (po-boys, grouper with basil mint tomato topper, and homemade pasta and sauce with fresh seafood) and a down-home beef and Amish noodles with "smashed" potatoes to commemorate our Midwest upbringing. Not to mention Pops Raw Bar in Buxton was a short 10-minute drive (some ate there 3 times!) making our eat out nights a no-brainer! Only complaints were the tiny soap provided (bring your own) and ONE DISH TOWEL (really? for a week's stay with a kitchen like that?--but we knew that so we brought more), and one tiny bottle of dish soap. The commercial ice machine was wonderful, supplying the coolers to the beach, and the proximity to the drive-on beach access made our rental of the Expedition worth every penny as we set up our day camp on the beach every day. The walk to the beach was also a short trip for those not doing set-up/break-down. Caught a few tiny fish, enjoyed the breakers and the short trip to the sound one day, and played games at night. As Good As It Gets is properly named!

House needs some updating
House was very accommodating for our large family and is located in a great location with beach access across the street from the road the house is on. The commercial ice maker was a big hit by not having to buy ice all week long. We were able to freeze our fish and transport them home with the ice from that machine. We did have issues with appliances and hardware all week long. The A/C unit for the upper floor could not keep up with cooling the house and on Monday it stopped working. After 5 phone calls to the realtor someone finally showed up. He replace the capacitor and got the unit to turn on but it never cooled the house. It stayed over 80 degrees on the upper floor all day. Not good when trying to get ready for a weeding. The A/C guys showed up at 5:00 and said they told them that this unit needed to be replaced back in the spring. The next day the washer stopped working. They said they fixed it but when we tried to wash clothes that night after we returned it stopped working again. The came back and said they fixed it again. It worked but not like it was suppose to do. Back to the a/c, during the day it would get up to 76-77 degrees inside the house on the upper level. Unit definitely does not work properly. They have programmable thermostats in the house which would set the temperature to different degrees all day long. We would lower it and come back and it would be back to 74, very aggravating. I made many phone calls to the reality office asking what can be done about this issues and was told we will get back with you. Here I am back at home and I still have not received a phone call from them. We had issues with being able to unlock the doors. We had to go and get some other keys that seem to work better.
