About this house rental
On October 15, 2021, one of the spill gates the Guadalupe River broke when the gates were opened to let out flooding waters. As a result, the river no longer comes up to the wooden dock as it did in the past. We still access the water from the river's shore and enjoy swimming, kayaking, and fishing from the shore.
From the large, family home, you can enjoy two outdoor living spaces right on the Guadalupe River. The property faces north, which means that the back patios are in the shade and the afternoon sun is kept at bay when enjoying the 90’ of lakefront and flat, half-acre lawn.
The house boasts open, family-style living upstairs, with a great room that boasts panoramic views of the river with four separate seating areas surrounding the large, open kitchen. The 2800 square feet upstairs includes four bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, with an additional bonus room with four queen beds and a separate bathroom on the 1300 sq. ft. lower level, with separate wall-unit A/C and direct walkout to the downstairs patio.
The home has one king bed in the separate master suite with jetted soaking tub, walk-in shower, and water closet, with two additional queen-sized bedrooms upstairs joined by a shared shower/tub and toilet with individual vanities in each bedroom, and a third bedroom with a twin over full bunk room. The living area boasts a large kitchen and island with seating for six facing the views of the lake that span the entire back of the house. There is a dining table for ten, plus an additional table with seating for four, in total 20 chairs for dining in the main open living area. The includes a large sectional and two occasional chairs on one side of the kitchen with another seating area on the opposite side with four occasional chairs with coffee table that makes a great game nook or spot for morning coffee that overlooks the river views.
The house also boasts a large pantry and utilities/laundry room. It comes fully furnished and well-equipped with all staples necessary for a fun week at the river! There are chairs and ottomans on the large upstairs patio and also two separate furniture groups on the downstairs patio, so plenty of room for all to enjoy the space!
The home is stocked with plenty of games to enjoy indoors and out, including cornhole boards, a ping pong table, pickleball net, a lily pad float, and a few lounging floats for the water. It is also child-friendly with safety gates, toys and games for little ones, child dishware, a crib, high chair, and pack-and-play.

The home was very nice with adequate space for my family. Everyone had their own bedroom so no doubling up which was great as there were 7 adults and 2 teens.

Lara and her husband were so hospitable during our stay. The little touches in the home like bed linens, towels, throw blankets, cookware did not go unnoticed. Any questions were answered almost immediately. This home had comfortable beds and easily fit the 5 adults and 5 kids ages 5-10. There were more than enough beds available and a crib if we needed. We loved our stay and hope to visit again next summer!

We had 5 adults and two kids (age 7 and age 9) and we loved our stay! Host was very easy to communicate with and the home was beautiful. Great location and we loved that there was plenty to entertain us at at the house. Board games,kayaking,ping pong table,corn hole boards. This home is the perfect place to gather for large/multiple families. It is open and has so much room, seating, and beds! Finding a home that will sleep so many without cramming our teens into twin beds or making them share beds is so difficult. This was perfect! And the great room/kitchen area had everyone together (unless they were downstairs enjoying ping pong!).

This house was so beautiful and had such great amenities. Everything was clean and tidy, had new appliances throughout the house. Downstairs in the garage had everything you could ever need for the river plus more (ping pong table and corn hole games were a hit for the kids). The ladder to climb down for the river was difficult for some but we were all still able to enjoy the river and everything the house provides. Definitely coming back!

This property is welcoming, accommodating and has many nice aspects to it. There is an abundance of items that you would want, and they are there. There is plenty of room for a larger group to spread out. The views of the river and the surrounding areas are really nice. The multiple places to sit and relax both inside and out are very nice.
The only downside is the access to the water since the dam broke and the water level is significantly lower than it used to be. To that issue, the owners have a Lilly Pad that made getting in and out much easier. Kayaking was an absolute blast.
Great access to New Braunfels without the business of being in town. Beautiful and quiet, a lot of peace in this area.

This property was absolutely beautiful and perfect. We came up here for my nieces senior trip to float the river. The house was stunning and had everything we needed. About 30min from Gruene and to float. Lara and Ryan chatted with me a few times when I had questions, very quick responses. We will definitely be booking again for our family summer vacation.

This property was beautiful, spacious and loaded with extras! The huge great room provided comfortable seating for my family of 8; wether eating, lounging or playing games. We cooked fantastic meals and had everything we needed at our fingertips; two grills, large pots and pans, plenty of dishes and silverware and even a few ‘forgotten’ ingredients. (Best stocked kitchen we have ever had in a rental!) There were games inside and out for the adults and our 3 year old granddaughter. The yard was large enough for family games: bocce, kickball and corn hole. There are several outdoor seating areas (those had to be wiped down before use). The beds were super cozy with great linens.plenty of towels in each of the bathrooms and extras in the laundry room! If you want a place to gather with your favorite people where you can just show up and let the fun begin, THIS IS THE PLCE FOR YOU!!

We had wonderful multi-generational family long weekend. The house is well laid out for family time and well stocked. The hosts were communicative and quick to answer a question we had. The big great room is beautiful and looks over the large yard and water. The dock was a great place to sit and watch people swim in the water. The house has lots of seating both inside and out and kitchen is great for cooking. There was a second fridge in the laundry room which is super helpful. Comfortable beds and truly set up for families. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return. We spent one of our days in new Braunfels at schlitterbaun and it was an easy 30 ish minute drive from the house.

Our extended family that included 9 people from age 1-70 loved this house! There was more than enough room for us to spread out and have our space- both in the bedrooms and living/dining spaces. The bedrooms and bathrooms are large and comfortable. There is a very large basement where all of the bigger kids slept. The house also included all of the baby gear we needed- a crib,
High chair seat and baby gates on the stairs. Our family was doing a trip to all of the important Texas history sites. We came from Fort Worth and Houston so the drive was easy for everyone. We made day trips to Austin (about an hour), San Antonio (about an hour), Goliad (1.5 hrs), Gonzales (less than an hour) and Washington of the Brazos (about 2 hours). It was the perfect launching off location! With all of the day driving, we had dinner at home every night and the kitchen provided a great place for cooking. In the evenings, we enjoyed watching movies and relaxing on the beautiful back patio. The hosts were very quick with communication and had everything clearly spelled out for us. We’d love to stay here again!

The house was clean and beautiful. It had everything you would need. Plenty of paper products. Kitchen was stocked. My one and only complaint would be that they need better access to the river. The boat ladder on the deck was not stable! My daughter fell off going down. She was fine. We did block the ladder with logs so that it wouldn't move when climbing up and down! Needless to say we would stay there again. Lovely house, great location.

Loved it
The house was beautiful and very spacious. The stairs definitely gave us a workout but we all enjoyed our stay. We did lose power one evening (I believe it was a blown transformer up the street) we just went and sat outside and we little a small fire and enjoyed the outdoors. The owners messaged us shortly after the power went out to give us a time frame of power restoration.

Summer Vacation
My Family enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. We loved having our breakfast out on the balcony with great views. Beautiful Lake Spot
We went over Spring Break with my husband, my sister and my three teens. House has lot of room and very confortable. You have lake view. We enjoyed the lake, kids enjoy fishing, outdoors and games that house has.
Ryan & Lara are amazing host, great communication. We had an issue with wifi and they fixed right away.
Overall we absolutely had a great time and we will definitely be back!
The house has everything you need!
The only suggestion or negative comment we have is the grill. It needs to be replaced is old and metal particles are coming out. We decided not to use it other than that five stars!

Beautiful, great owner
We loved this property, and the layout is great for a larger group. We had planned to have our whole family there (kids and grandkids) but because of COVID we ended up there by ourselves. But we enjoyed the big kitchen and open living space. Only comments are that it is not accessible for anyone with a problem climbing stairs, so be sure you understand that. 18 steps to get to the main living area. Everything was very clean and beautifully decorated / kept. Nice amenities.

Lake house living
Loved this get together at this spectacular property with family. Small problem with old food left behind and trash cans filled to overflowing but Lara was quick to respond and overall we had great fun. The swimming was difficult due to the lily pads in front of the dock but we had a fine time with the kids on Marge the large barge once we moved her out a bit.

Great vacation home on Lake Placid Texas
This house is great for a family vacation. Stocked with games (inside and outdoor) for all ages as well as plenty of floatation items for everybody to relax in the lake. There was plenty of space inside and out for our large family. Having two refrigerators was a big help. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anybody with a large family looking for a relaxing vacation.

Fantastic family weekend
My whole family got together for the first time since Covid hit. The house was great! Plenty of room for all 14 of us and a lot of fun for everyone. We loved how open the floor plan was in the main living area and the balcony was great for the grandparents to watch the kids playing below. We had a great time and I’m so glad we found this house! The hosts were also very responsive and accommodating. 10/10.

Room for a Big Family
We had extended family and friends (including 3 kids) stay together to attend a wedding. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space, plus plenty of room to gather in the kitchen and living area. The property was even better than the pictures showed! Everything was very clean, and Laura was extremely helpful and available if we needed anything! We will be back!

Rented for a long family weekend with small kids! Had everything we needed from a crib to a highchair to all the lake toys you can imagine. Endless fun fishing on the dock. Perfect spot for families with young kids. Lakers right next to Dam so very little boat traffic on lake. House is set up for an easy, stress-free time and sits next to a park. Homeowner was responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful Lake Trip
The home was beautiful, clean, and positioned right on the Lake Placid water. We had an amazing time just relaxing, fishing, and taking a boat ride with a friend. There was plenty of room to spread out, and many items were already in the home (spices, paper towels, aluminum, etc.). Lara and her husband were excellent to communicate with, and they made sure that we had everything that we needed. We will definitely stay again!

Beautiful house
This property is amazing for family gatherings . We took all of our 6 kids and 4 of their significant others plus our fur baby Marley and had plenty of room to roam around and not feel crowded. The pictures that are posted are even better in person with the beautiful view of the lake with plenty of outdoor seating. We brought our boat and was able to keep it docked up at the house which made it convenient to just hop on and cruise around the lake. The house had everything you could think of such as laundry soap, beach towels, beach chairs, life jackets for kids, floats, air pump..ect..The owners were very prompt to any and all questions that we had. We only had one small issue which the owner immediately drove out to fix. I defiantly give this place 5 stars and plan on returning again in the future.
