About this apartment rental
Summary:
This garden level space is perfect if you're on a budget and desire privacy, comfort and cleanliness. Renovated using top-end finishes including Imported Spanish Tile flooring as well as many other high-end materials. Enjoy peaceful slumbers on our new Gel Memory Foam mattresses and white linen sheets while enjoying streaming services on SmartTV. Located minutes away from Boston Landing Train, easy access to Fenway Park & Copley Sq.
The Space:
This room was constructed to host Airbnb guests and is designed for travelers seeking the comfort, convenience and cleanliness they would find in a hotel, but at a fraction of the price. This basement level room is equipped with a Smart TV, Wifi, Queen bed with Memory Foam mattress, keurig coffee maker, mini fridge and private bath. There is NO KITCHEN or access to cooking equipment, however there are so many takeout options in our immediate area that one can get food delivered from any number of restaurants in under an hour.
Our home is a classic three-decker. We now do Airbnb on the 2nd floor and in these two basement bedrooms. The basement has a private entrance around the back of our home for added privacy. A unique access code is generated for each reservation that provides access to the foyer door and then your unit door. Walk through the comfortable foyer area and you will find a large finished basement with two separate units on opposite sides of the house, each designed like a hotel room with private access and en-suite bathroom.
Guest Access:
We offer coin operated laundry for guests to use. The laundry units are in the foyer area of the basement entrance. This foyer area is a shared space. Off-street parking is available for free, however it must be reserved at the time of booking. Unrestricted street parking is available all weekend. Mon-Friday 8am-6pm there is a loosely enforced 2-hour restriction on street parking without a resident sticker.
The Neighborhood:
The Allston/Brighton neighborhood has probably the deepest and most diverse selection of restaurants of any neighborhood in Boston. Within a short walk from our home hungry guests can find food from just about any ethnicity, a traditional steak house, seafood or the recently opened Flatbreads that offers Bowling and is only a five minute walk from our property. The property is four miles from Boston Common, which is the center of Boston, and a 20 minutes drive from Logan Airport. Supermarket, Liquor Store, Starbucks, Pharmacy, Restaurants and Retail, Bus Transportation, and Train to Downtown Boston are within 5-10 minute walk. Neighborhood is safe and well lit. Also close to Harvard Business, New Balance, WGBH, Bruins and Celtics Training Facilities, Boston University and Boston College. Target, Home Depot, Best Buy, Marshalls, Home Goods less than a mile away.
Getting Around:
We are a five minute walk from the Boston Landing Train Station which makes getting to Fenway Park, Back Bay or South Station quick and easy.
At the end of my street there is bus service to Harvard & Central Square. If you have a car getting to Downtown Boston or points north, south or west of Boston are easily accessed by either the Mass Pike or Storrow Drive. Logan Airport is an easy 20 minute ride.
Uber and Lyft are also readily available.
Other Things to Note:
The room is located in the basement of our home but was recently constructed to the highest standard and meets all required building and safety codes. There are two similar rooms in our basement (each with their own bathroom, and each with their own unique door lock codes) that share a private entrance from the rest of the house and common area foyer.
We are located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, 4 miles from Downtown. We are close to several buses and the Boston Landing train stop is right down the road, about a 5-minute walk. The Boston Landing inbound train goes to Fenway, Back Bay (Downtown) and South Station.
You can find a link to the train schedule by going to MBTA (dot com) and selecting the Worcester commuter train.

Within walking distance of so many things you could need and the T. Only problem is you don't have control over the room temperature. Otherwise everything about the stay was perfect. Many amenities within the place if you forgot something! So thoughtful.

Easy check-in and check-out and the listing was exactly as expected. Would definitely stay here again.

Kevin was a great host. The place was great and at a very reasonable price. What really set Kevin apart as a host was we were getting ready to go to a meeting and, when we plugged in a space heater, it flipped the breaker for the unit. Kevin answered immediately and assisted us with getting the power back on. Very impressed!

My sister and I came to Boston to visit my daughter for several days. We had a great time and saw so much!
The apartment was the perfect size for us and walking distance to my daughter's apartment. It could use a small microwave but otherwise was great.

Great location for our mother/daughter weekend! We were within walking distance to The Track at New Balance which saved us time and money every day of our stay. We also had easy access to the harbor and downtown areas via car. The hosts were easily accessible and responded quickly to questions I had before and during our stay.

We loved the at we were able to talk about parking and be able to park our car in a spot not on the street. The location was great, close to everything. The room was very clean and had everything we needed!

Host’s we’re terrific and the location was walkable to many areas. Would stay here again when traveling to this part of Boston.

From the pictures, you can't tell that this is a converted basement in a rather tired neighborhood. It is clean and fresh inside but you can hear literally every noise made by other people living in the house.

Had a real good stay here.
Rented this room for my day off of work. And I have to say, I'm glad that I rented this room and even for a small room it was still really spacious to get around. Thanks Kevin for allowing me to have that experience for the nights I was staying.

Good enough
Stay was good but not necessarily worth the cost. Room is small as advertised and bathroom nicely renovated. Mini fridge made noises the entire night making sleeping difficult. Comfortable and easy to get around with the parking but could have been cheaper for location and size.

Stay in Boston
This rental was fine. We weren’t there much. It is very small, more like a motel room. A few improvements would make it much more enjoyable for guests.
1. Adding a microwave
2. Fixing the very squeaky bathroom door
3. More hooks for towels
Overall, it was fine for our needs. We were able to park the rental car without any extra fees. We appreciated that. The owner was quick to respond to our questions. It’s within walking distance to the train but not the subway.

Just what we needed for the week…
Clean, quiet neighborhood. Good for a morning jog at the park near the river. Proximal to all transit, so if you’re not leaving the city you don’t really need a car. Nearby grocery store. The breakfast club is the breakfast spot, and big daddy’s pizza is the pizza spot 🍳🍕🙌🏼

Nice Property, Needs Some Maintenance
The apartment was nice and comfortable. It was easy to get to the commuter rail and to the bus stop around the corner to get into Boston. It could use a dustpan and a shoe rack/mat and the bathroom needs some work but is still nice. The one complaint I have is the cleaning and service fee was quite high I feel but that may not be the properties issue and it might be VRBO. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

I enjoyed this property tremendously. Close and easy proximity to transportation into Boston. My hosts were great. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. There is a grocery store nearby. The owners stock the place with essentials such as soap, towels, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. There is a K cup coffee dispenses that they also stock. I could not have asked for anything more.
